I was prescribed Avelox day before yesterday for an upper respiratory infection and took it for two days before calling and asking to be switched. I experienced severe sharp pains in my hips, lower and middle back, and a few in various places in my legs. My eyes can't tolerate light and I am experiencing right arm numbness, weakness, and disorientation with movement. I'm sure this drug works just fine for some but my pharmacist says some people are just not good candidates for it. Shouldn't there be some sort of process for finding out who those people are instead of treating us all like guinea pigs? I feel like we operate within a medical system that decides to shoot first and ask questions later.

Wow! The day before yesterday, a friend of a friend reported that she had her IUD taken out. It was Mirena. I have had mine in since last December and it never occurred to me that this could be the problem. In June, I started having symptoms that were like UTIs but I've never had one. I had to pee all the time and when I did, it burned. I felt nauseous but then, before going to the dr. the symptoms would pass. Finally, after a month, I decided to stop ignoring it. In the meantime, I started having all these lower gut/uterine achy feelings that moved toward my groin and pelvic bone/thigh area. I've never had anything like it. Sometimes, it was hard to walk. I went to my gyn. and she said she saw nothing and I had a sonogram and they saw nothing and said my Mirena looked great. In the meantime, I have been more and more tired, drinking three or more cups of coffee a day to stay awake. I have a 1 year old and I feel so tired I sometimes feel frustrated with her. I also have had rage during my PMS which I've never had before in my life. I used to get a little weepy-sometimes. Now, I find that I'm so irritable about the slightest thing. Until this friend of a friend mentioned her trouble (which was similar to mine) I never even thought of the Mirena. My GP told me that it was a pulled muscle (even though I had no recollection of pulling anything). I can't wait to get this thing out! Oh, also, someone mentioned vaginal dryness--YES! I've never had a problem with this before but it has been getting harder and harder to ignore during intimacy. I was never, ever told about any such side effects! I am having the Mirena taken out on Thursday--I can't wait.

I am upset because neither the Pharmacist or my Doctor were any help. I thought I was going crazy. I have been on this med. for 6 or 7 weeks of which have been absolute misery. I have experienced numbness and tingling in my finger tips, headaches, yellowing of my skin, severe nausea but never throwing up, unable to eat and yet gaining weight, severe dizziness and nearly passing out, fatigue, pain in my legs when I exert myself (climbing stairs to my bedroom), unable to stay asleep at night, leg cramps, stomach pains, anxiety!!, depression, grouchy, extreme bleeding with my monthly cycle (my normal cycle is 3 to 5 days this cycle lasted 3 weeks and counting), coldness, heart palpitations, chest pains, wheezing and deep dry hacking cough. I just felt like I was going to die also thought it could possibly be menopause, low blood pressure (90/60). Because BP was low I took 1/2 the dosage day before yesterday (5mg). Yesterday I stopped taking it altogether and I was able to eat (yeah!!!!) with only minor nausea. Today my legs are not hurting as bad going up and down the stairs and my bleeding has really slowed down. I don't have a headache but I am still coughing and am having the problem with the numbness and tingling in my fingertips. I see dramatic improvement. I believe if my husband had not researched the side effects of this drug online, it would have killed me. Also he thinks that women should not take this drug because of the emotional impact on the husband! Also I am so angry that his happened to me in full sight of the medical professionals !@!@!@ I will be posting this message on as many medical sites that will take it.

my daughter has been on Singulair for 4 days now. She is 2 years old and has bad food allergies that cause very bad eczema. She also has been diagnosed with the start of asthma. After going to an allergist, we were told that she should try Singulair and Allegra for a couple of months to treat her seasonal allergies which have been causing coughing at night and skin break-outs, etc. A day or so after she took the medicine ( Singulair chewable tablets- I haven't started the Allegra yet, it seemed like too much for her to be on ) she has been having very loose stools, and quite a few throughout the day. Also she has hive- like bumps on her back. I stopped giving it to her the day before yesterday because the medicine was the only new thing she had been introduced too. The stools seemed to slow down and the hives seemed to be going away, but she was coughing bad last night, so I gave it to her again thinking maybe all she had was a stomach bug. But this morning we made countless potty stops and her back is bumpy again. Does anyone else have this problem?

I started Topamax two years ago for migraines. It caused many side effects...depression..I would forget, tingling (that we away after about 4-5 months), weight loss (I looked bad -- I was thin before)...but I stayed with it because I was pain free and before had daily headaches with debilitating one to three times a week. I went off the Topamax in November. Slowly I got my life back and was happy...now the headaches are coming back faster than they left. I just started back to Topamax day before yesterday. Today the tingling started....guess you have to weigh the results.

I've been taking this pill for 7 MONTHS now. Previously the side effects seemed pretty negligible--I had a bit of spotting--and though the "blood" was disconcertingly "clumpy" (sorry for the graphics)--I've had spotting with every other pill I've used too. Recently, though, the spotting has turned into full periods! I have about a week and a half of nothing and then a constant mess. As of day before yesterday the cramps and bloating are also in full effect. I'm calling the doctor tomorrow because I got on the pill mainly to control the pain and now not only am I constantly bleeding...but it's these strange dark clumps! Once again, sorry to be so specific, but has anyone else experienced this? It's truly mortifying when I'm with my boyfriend...

I have been taking zocor for about 3 years. Started out with 10 mg every other day, then every day; for nearly the last year I have been taking 20 mg once a day. It did lower my cholesterol enough to suit the doc. Did not really notice any symptoms at first. It seems I have been noticing more and more problems recently. Especially after my husband decided to tell me that he thinks something is very wrong. Maybe my problems are just age related. Most recently I have had two falls brought on by a simple "toe stubbing". For the past 3-4 months I have had unrelenting lower back pain and hip pain. Both to the point that I can't sleep and am having trouble walking. All of that I attributed to arthritis which I do have in my hands. The tingling, pins/needles sensations and foot pain started over 2 years ago but my doc said that couldn't be the zocor. My liver function was normal every time he checked. Diabetes has been ruled out. I am overweight so I just wrote off the fatigue to that. But - three years ago I was walking daily on our farm - up and down hills for over one hour at a time - and teaching high school full time. I am retired now and I don't think I could do that much walking because of the pain and stiffness. Does any body know how long it will take me to get rid of the symptoms? I stopped the zocor without the doc's knowledge day before yesterday.

My 2.5 year old was prescribed Omnicef for possible sinus infection/pink eye the day before yesterday. She had a dose that night and two doses yesterday. After that third dose, I noticed diarrhea like water and went to the Internet to learn a little more about this medication. I found this website and was prepared for what this evening had in store. We woke up at 3 a.m. with her crying inconsolably and very uncomfortable. I held her a little bit and she wanted to be back in her bed, I'm sleeping next to her on the floor when she'll let me sleep. It's MISERABLE... a MEDICINE is CAUSING this!! She's writhing in pain from the cramping of the diarrhea. The benefits don't out-weigh the risks of this medication! I will NEVER give my child another medication without researching it first. Of course, every medication has side effects that you may never experience and you don't know until you try, but it sounds as though this med is MOST LIKELY to cause diarrhea, not worth it!!

I have been on the Nuvaring for about 4 months now, but have only been experiencing problems about the last month....i went through major depression the 3rd month and this month i have had trouble reaching climax, i started early, and my mood swings are the worst. Ive been engaged now for 1 week and it has been the worst week ever! I cant remember the last time we had a decent night together. I just blow up over something that usually isnt that big of deal! It's gotten REALLY bad! I was even breaking stuff and yelling lastnight, and I'm not that kind of person AT ALL. My boyfriend told me that i haven't been myself and we almost called the engagement off! The day before yesterday i got a horrible cramp in my side and i couldnt move, and today i have horrible nausea! I thought the nuvaring was the best thing ever but i have to find something else FAST! Its nice to see I'm not the only one experiencing problems with this!

i was prescribed meprozine after having a wisdom tooth pulled the day before yesterday ,and hardly can remember any thing afterwards just a hellish blur.it did little to kill the pain but was very succesful at making me too dizzy to walk. i was too disoriented and confused to carry on a conversation with any one and whenever i went into the next room i forgot why i was there. it was all quite embaressing . i took one somwhere between 6 and 7 this morning but didnt take any more .its now 3:15 pm. i'v ben suffering accute feelings of paranioa, insecurity depression rejection and aggravation ,with some hallutionations for the last three days. my coordination is still bad. i had some trouble typing this . i'm angry that they can sell this crap as "pain killer".

I'm 21 years old and was treated for endometriosis back in August of 2004. I started my Lupron shots one week ago because my endo., has already returned. Even though it's only been a week, I've aleady started feeling the side effects. I started feeling extremely tired, weak, and I've had severe nausea that started a few days ago, not to mention migranes. Are these normal side effects of the Depo-Lupron injections? The day before yesterday I stayed home from work because I felt weak, severe cramping and nausea. Yesterday when I returned to work, I had to come home early because I started vomiting and couldn't stop. Today, I'm back at work, I haven't been vomiting, but still have headaches, and nausea. I know I'm not pregnant because I just had a heavy menstral last week and I even took two pregnancy tests early on to see if I was and both tests came out negative. I just got married 3 weeks ago, so my poor husband has to put up with all of this, but he's been really helpful and supportive. If I decide not to continue on, will it hurt anything? I don't want to keep going on like this.
