Reading all these messages makes me reflect on my symptoms. I have been on Yaz for less than 1 year. I switched from Desogen for no major reasons than wanting shorter, lighter periods. Wrong choice! A few days ago I began having issues breathing fully throughout the night. I had been experiencing a bit of heartburn and thought it was something I ate or ate too late. However, reading all of this makes me very concerned over the control Yaz has on your body. I have also experienced moodiness which I never had before with Desogen. I realize every pill is different but not being able to take a full deep breathe is not okay. I nearly had an anxiety attack last night. Not to mention, I thought I was having some asthmatic issue but never had asthma a day in my life before! I am a healthy 27 year old. I work out and eat right with no family history of heart issues. I am discontinuing Yaz this evening and hopefully these crazy symptoms will go back to the way they were....gone! I think if we write more about these experiences, the FDA needs to step in and study this!

I have been taking prednisone on and off since '04, totally unaware of the problems associated with it. In '07 I got double pneumonia and almost died, and that resulted in nearly 3 months of the 6 I was sick, of on and off prednisone use. I have never recovered from it, the inflammation that kept me from breathing and nearly killed me, comes right back within 2 weeks now, and back on the prednisone I go for another 2-3 weeks. I have been sick now for almost 14 months like this. What saved my life from pneumonia, now appears to be taking it slowly.

My doctor said I have to come off of it, or it will kill me. As it is, without it, I'm like someone with emphysema and I've never smoked a day in my life. At present, I have refused to do the re-dose, and my abdomen is so swollen it hurts and is so tight you could bounce a quarter off of it. My ankles, which never swelled before, now swell constantly and I now have to take a water pill now to wear shoes.

I'm 52 years old and had never been on ANY long term MEDS AT ALL, until they put me on prednisone. Now I take half a dozen. If there is any way, any of you can NOT take it, don't do it, not even for a short time unless it's the only thing that will save your life. It is like inviting a cobra into your home and then sitting there watching and waiting for it to make it's final strike. I think it has damaged me beyond repair. I go to a lung specialist the end of month.

I've been taking Omeprazole 40mg's once daily for two weeks now. I'm 28 years old and up until September have never been sick a day in my life. After an endoscopy, was diagnosed with a "hiatal hernia" after months of a mysterious vomiting syndrome and put on this drug by my Gastroenterologist.

The first week and a half was great, it was able to control my vomiting. But now, after thirteen days of taking the drug, I've been feeling incredibly fatigued over my whole body, like the way you feel the day after you lift weights. Stabbing pains in my ribs, chest and abdomen that come and go. The feeling in my stomach of being "eaten" from the inside out. It's horrible.

Like others, I've also been getting quick, stabbing headaches that come and go in a flash. Joint pain. Muscle cramps. Bloating. Depression. Waking multiple times in the middle of the night. Strange and vivid dreams. Severe nausea in the morning when I wake up. It's all really, really weird. And as of last night, my vomiting has relapsed. Keep in mind, I've NEVER experienced ANYTHING like these symptoms before in my life.

I've got a follow-up appointment scheduled with my doctor in three days and I intend to get off of this stuff immediately.

I had my mirena put in at the beginning of march for the one reason that my husband and I didn't want to use condoms anymore. I really enjoyed sex with no stress or mess of condoms or remembering pills..WHAT I DID NOT ENJOY was the 3 months of bed rest I had to go through starting from the second I had that F%@$#NG THING INSERTED. I wish the doctor would have shot me in the face instead. It started with the absolute WORST pain I have ever felt, exactly like all of you were saying. Im not a fainter..but I seriously came close. They wouldn't let me leave the clinic I was in such horrible pain after. My body turned white, I started sweating profusely and all I saw was black for a good half hour. It felt like they stabbed a knife through my uteris. That pain lasted a good 3 months and I didn't want to go through all that for nothing just to take it out, ya know? So I bared threw it. I gained WEIGHT THAT COULD NOT LOSE!! AT ALL!!!! I walked miles for no reason because it did nothing...and Im normally able to drop 5 pounds at the drop of a hat..this weight was freegin concreted to my stomach. I also have never had acne a day in my life and until I got it put in, now I am Miss Pizza face. Nothing works, not even proactive and its even all over my chest. And twice- I ducked down bending my body to go under a rope and something happened, I think the mirena scrapped the walls of my uterus because my whole stomach/ uterus felt exactly like mush. It hurt so bad I thought my intestines flipped upside down, I even went to the ER the first time it happened. WELL..yesterday, I had it taken out. I got fed up of being an acne faced fatty just for better sex. NOT WORTH IT. oh and periods? Yeah, I like 2 and a half week long periods and cramps that paralyze my legs. I feel 100 times better now already, I know my face will go back to normal and if I want to take a bite of anything, I don't have to worry about being bloated as if I just ate a thanksgiving meal (which by the way..I boated like a hot air balloon when I ate ANYTHING and EVERYTHING on the damn mirena!!!!). GOOD F&&^@KING RIDDANCE. and I am all in on a fatty lawsuit against this sh*t too..

THIS IS A HORRIBLE DANGEROUS DRUG!!!!!
Doctors prescribed this to my mother for 5 years!!!! Because of it's devastating side effects it is FDA approved for short term 4-12 weeks and only as a last resort. And NEVER for Parkinson's patients. It is unclear if Reglan caused the Parkinson's like symptoms or if she had it prior. Either way the doctor was so wrong to prescribe this medication to her. She is completely disabled can't walk or even get out of a chair had a auto accident and falls one time a metal frame fell on her head causing a hospital visit another time she fell into cactus! I was horrified to learn that no one caught this error. Not one doctor or the drug store told my parents REGLAN could cause her to end up using a walker and unable to function even the simplest daily tasks and that these symptoms could be permanent.

Hello all i just had to post this. I had the Merina put in On June 12of 2008. I thought at first this was going to be the best thing for me because i have fibroids. Well 1 week after the insert it all started. Constant heavy Bleeding , Pelvic Pain and ect. Of Course i go to my OBGYN and they thought i was crazy and did not take it out. So i went to my Regular Doctor because my symptoms were getting worse. I started having migraine headaches and i just was feeling so sick along with the heavy clotting bleeding. I was to upset that it really wasn't anything he could do but treat me for my headache. Ok, that didn't work. My headaches got worst and I ended up in the Emergency Department with a severe headache trembles and etc. They took all kinds of test and i kept telling them that im having Major problems , know one was listening. I started having bad Anxiety attacks and Panic Attacks. This never happened a day in my life. My doctor had to put me on medication to control my anxiety attacks. Finally i am going to the OBGYN to get this thing out. While im there i am going to give them a piece of my mind as well. When patients are having severe problems , it should be considered an emergency to take it out. Everyone's Heomoglobin isnt low but experience other side effects. I am suffering really bad and trying to work a full time job as well plus married with 2 Kids. Hell i thought i was loosing my mind. I cant wait until 08/21 to get this removed!
Thanks for reading

Kim

I was just discharged from the hospital on Saturday. I had been taking Yasmin for almost two years now and until recently, had no problems. Last Wednesday I went to the ER for severe pain and inability to breath with my left lung. They admitted me after finding a blood clot in the right, as a result of Yasmin! Turns out, I had pneumonia in the left and since I had no symptoms that the clot was there, the pneumonia saved my life! I too had to take those fun Lovenox shots in the stomach and now I'm on Coumadin for 6 months. I am 29 years old, never smoked a day in my life. I do not drink, I am a healthy weight and I work out regularly. I do not have a history of blood clots in the family. How could this happen especially with a drug my doctors told me was safe?

With the amount of occurrences, I'm interested in a class action lawsuit as well. I will never take a birth control pill again EVER.

I have taken Paxil for several years for Fibro and Neuropathy. Since I am in constant pain, I get very agitated easily so I was given Paxil to help take the edge off my days. Yes it has helped.

But I have a terrible sweating problem. It has been going on for several years also and no one has ever mentioned it could be caused from the Paxil. I am embarrassed to even go out anymore because I have sweat rolling down my face and my hair gets wet. I know people are starring at me.

After reading all the side effects, which I have many but always just associated them to my other problems, I think I may also try to get off this drug and just see if the sweating stops. If I could go a day, out in public, without this sweating, it would be the happiest day in my life. I am almost to the point of being a recluse now. So keep your fingers crossed for me and a prayer wouldn't hurt also!

Thanks

I am not sure if this is what I had today at the dentists office but many of the side effects are very similar and I am not sure if i will go back to have any work done.

I went to the dentist to have two small fillings done. After the first shot I experienced a "panic" feeling. heart was racing and feeling light headed. I sat up in the chair and hung my head down when the asst. came in. She asked if I was OK and I told her that I felt very weird and uncomfortable. When he began drilling I could feel the pain still and so he gave me another dose of numbing meds. Well....after about five min my heart was pounding so hard I placed the dentists hand on my chest and he could feel my heart pounding out of my chest. He took my pulse and said it was over 140. Finally the heart racing began to subside but all day I feel like I have been put through the ringer. I couldn't drive myself home, and have been freezing ever since. My right ear is hurting and finally the numbness in my face is wearing off. I think that was the scariest day in my life. Never again!

It is 3:19am and I am posting to a forum about my birth control pill!? I think that has to be a side effect! I have read these posts about those of you who have been on this Pill for years and wonder how you have survived!!! I am on day 6 and feel like I could die. I have never had a cramp a day in my life, kidney stones felt better than the cramping I am having. I get sporatic shooting pains through my thighs, my ankles are swelling (and I'm on prescription water pill), I have lost 20 lbs in 2 months from dieting, I have lost an additional 4lbs in 5 days because I can not stay out of the bathroom. I feel like I can't lead a normal life because I have to have a restroom nearby, I never know when I will have to vomit or have diahrea. My 5 yr old daughter had 14 inches of hair cut off Monday and I couldn't even drive her the 2 miles to my sister's house to show her because I was so nauseous!
With each night my sleep has become shorter and shorter and replaced with restlessness! I am 34 yrs old and my tubes are tied, I am on the pill because I have 3 cysts on my right ovary. My Ob wants me to stop ovulating to ease the pain from the cysts, I would much rather go back to that pain rather than experience this! Heck yank the parts out, I don't need them! I was going to give this pill a month, then I said oh ok, I'll give it a week and maybe I'll adjust....I will be calling the Dr in the morning! I took a different pill 17 yrs ago and had no problems, I originally chalked these side effects up to the fact that this is a whole lifetime later. I am so thankful that so many of you have posted so I know it's not my age or my body adjusting!

I was prescribed Levaquin 750 q day for what appeared to be a breast abscess and swollen nodes in my left axilla. By day 3 I didn't feel a whole lot better, the infection didn't seem to be improving greatly, day 4-6 spanned a weekend, by day 7 I was so miserable I checked into the ER. There they did blood work that showed that my bone marrow was completely suppressed, which meant that my body was unable to fight the infection at all. The result was a two week stay in hospital, IV antibiotics x 4 weeks, incision and drainage of stated area x 2, and a lengthy recuperation. I am an RN, have never been sick a day in my life before this episode. I am still unable to return to work because of my low white blood cell count, and will very likely have to change jobs because I doubt whether I will be able to return to 12-hour shifts on an ortho-vascular floor. I am still quite weak, tire easily, need to rest frequently, do not have anywhere the ability to work a full day that I had before this episode. The affected areas are finally healing, but it is now 6 weeks post appearance of the infection. My WBC is still about half of what is should be to be low-normal. I am being followed by a oncologist-hematologist to correct the damage that was done to my bone marrow by this dangerous medication.

My name is Evie Brien-Wells. I was prescribed Levoquin 750 q day for a breast abscess and swollen nodes in my left axilla. I took the medication, but didn't feel much better, in fact the infection seemed to be getting worse. Days 4-6 spanned a weekend, by day 7 I was so miserable I went to the ER, where they found by doing bloodwork that my bone marrow had been so completely suppressed, that my body was unable to help fight the infection. The result was a two week stay in hospital with IV antibiotics, need for incision and drainage of the areas in question x 2, and a lengthy recovery. It is now 5 weeks past my first hospital day, and my white blood cell count is still less than half of what it should be. I can't work with an immune system still that compromised. I am an RN, age 54, never been sick a day in my life before this episode. I still feel weak, altho' that is getting better every day. I still find I need to nap during the day, and that alone is very unusual for me, as I worked 12-hour shifts before this little episode. I am going to have to find a job that is less demanding, as I doubt that I will be able to do 12-hour shifts any time soon.
