I only started this pills after seven days. On day seven I had a very bad headache and felt like vomited at night. I stopped the pill, and passed day eight and day nine, still having a bad headache.

Lipitor an all Statins deplete the natural enzymes from your muscles.
Your Heart is a muscle. I haved been on Lipitor for a number of years
with many of the side effects posted here. I have had Heart Failure fo
a year now and the best doctors could not help me. My son recently
researched an found a possible solution the indicated Statins deplete
th heart muscled of COQ10 a natural enzyme in the Heart Muscle.
This depletion over time can caused Heart failure due to weak walls.
Since my doctors could offer no solution, I decided to try it for 90 days.
I am off Lipitor an taking 400mg of COQ10 per day.
I am now in day seven an have slept in my own bed with my wife for the first time in a year. I am less restless, an have ha no recurrence of Heart Failure. The drug companies know the problems but thy have
deep pockets an the best lobby to get laws passed and FDA approvals.
They have now received approval to get kids on Statins so they can
make even more money before the patient run out. Thy should be ashamed but they are not!!

Female, 30 years old. Began taking five day course of z-pak for bronchitis., abdominal pain from the beginning, better with food. Day five, abdominal pain much worse, ending with diarrhea. Did not take last dose. Day six, diarrhea persisting, frequent watery stool, dizziness, appetite loss, feeling completely drained. Day seven, began taking anti- diarrheal, seemed better. Went to Dr., advised fluids of course. Later that day, managed to eat a good meal, pushing fluids. Some intestinal pain but feeling generally better. Then: anti- diarrheal not really working anymore. Constant watery stools, feeling severely fatigued, completely drained, dizzy, ringing in ears, chills. Called hospital and spoke to nurse, advised ER visit: probable dehydration. I have been sick for 18 days including z-pak. Would never recommend this medication. The side effects are worse than the bronchitis.

I started taking Dox. because I lost my baby.. and my doc. prescribed it to me so i wouldn't get an infection. Im only supposed to take it for ten days.. its day seven and I have this burning sensation that is on my hands.. My hands are all red where its burning me.. The odd thing is it started with my knuckles.. and now it has spread. The weird part is that Its only on the tops of my hands..
I talked to my Pharmasist.. and he said that it was a rare side effect..
I have never heard of an ANTIBODIC that would make your hands burn..
I stopped taking it because my hands are litterally on fire..
If anyone else has gone through this please tell me what you have done to get them to stop burning..
I tried Aloe.. and it worked for ten minutes.. cold water makes it worse along with hot water.. putting pressure helps for a few seconds.. the only releif that I have found is blowing cool air on them..

Easter weekend (April 8. 2007) i came down with an outer ear infection. The Othorhinolaryngologist whom I consulted discovered that I also had a severe maxillary sinus infection and put me on Levaquin 500 mg, one tablet for ten days. After three days of taking Levaquin my neck and shoulders began to hurt severely keeping me from sleeping. On day seven I noticed signs of tendontitis in my right Achilles tendon. A day later the left achilles tendon also had symptoms of tendonitis, as do my aductor tendons in the groin, my hips hurt also, so do my fingers and wrists. I am absolutely MISERABLE and unable to sleep even now, six days after taking the last Levaquin. I was caught by surprise: how could a sinus infection and prescribed antibiotic cause me to walk like Frankenstein's Monster? But taking Levaquin was the only thing that had changed in my life. I did finally find the insiduous tendonitis connection ("If tendeness of tendons or rupture occurs, stop taking Levaquin immediately") that was NOT mentioned in the flyer from the pharmacy about possible side effects. I am certain that the Nose/Throat/Ear specialist doesn't know about the fact that prescribing Levaquin might clear up a sinus infection but keeps people from being able to walk and puts them into absolute misery because of severe tendonitis pain all over the body. I do hope this will wear off as it is almost causing me to contemplate that this is no way to live. Friderun Ankel-Simons, D.Sc.

Rash -
I have had a sinus infection since last November 2005. I had been prescribed Zithromax, Biaxin twice, Avelox, and then Omnicef in a 7-month period.
The Omnicef, a 21-day dose, was prescribed in July 2006. Two days after I finished taking the Omnicef I began to get a rash. At first I thought it was bug bites because they were on my legs, arms and back.
A week into it I realized these red bumps, that look like bug bites, were in fact more than a bug bite. I treated the bumps with Benadryl and Cortisone cream, the first week I had them, and instead of getting better the bumps were getting worse.
I happen to go to my doctor about day seven of the rash for a scheduled check-up. I asked my doctor about the rash. She seemed concerned and prescribed a Methylpred Pak. The rash began to subside about four days into the Methylpred. By the end of the Methylpred the rash was about 95% gone.
About three days after I completed The Methlpred the rash began to come back with a vengeance. I was actually worse that it was initially and was now spreading to my face. My doctor suggested I go to a dermatologist, which I did.
The dermatologist said that I was having an allergic reaction to the Omnicef and that it was not that uncommon. He prescribed Prednisone. I took the Prednisone for 10 days and again the rash began to get better, but two weeks after I began the Prednisone the rash still was not gone.
The dermatologist again gave me More Prednisone to take, but not as much as the first dose, to get rid of the rash. The rash almost went away with the exception of a couple of bumps. This was as of 9/15/06.
Today is 9/30/06 and as I write this, my back is once again covered in the rash. I am now starting to get it on my lags and arms again as well. Bah! I started taking a Methylpred Pak again this morning. This will make the third time since mid-April.
I remain hopeful that this terrible rash will clear up, as it is uncomfortable and cause for great distress.

My 5 year-old daughter starting taking omnicef nine days ago. On day seven she began complaining with tummy aches and several hours later began experiencing diarrhea. I mentioned to my husbsand that this may be a side effect and he thought we should stop the drug. I am concerned that if we stop the medication she will relapse....she has had a severe sinus infection and this is her third antibiotic since none of the others seem to be have been effective. I have not noticed any red stools with her but it is still possible.

It is amazing that a drug with the these side effects is presrcibed so easily. It seems to affect many people in so many different ways. It addresses the symptoms it is prescribed for but its side effects can be painful and uncomfortable as well as dangerous.
I started a ten day course of prednisone to aleviate lung inflamation due to allegy induce asthma.
Day 1 80mg
Days 2,3,4, 60mg each day
Days 5,6,7, 40mg each day
Days 8,9,10, 20mg per day
It worked well,I was breathing much better the second day and felt good overall.
On day seven I awoke to pain in my left foot. The pain persisted throughout the day. It was not until my girlfriend looked at and felt it that I realized the severity of the situation. She said it was cold and it appeared very white.
I decided to go to the outpatient emergency room, for fear of having a blood clot. They gave me a blood thinner and pain killers and also made an appointment for a arterial specialist. for the next day. I went home that evening and took a lortab and went to bed. Before I fell asleep the pain in my foot became excruciating, and I decided to take another pain reliever and was able to fall asleep for a couple of hours before I was awoken, again in pain. The next day I went to the Arterial Specialist barely able to walk the hallway to his office(it was now affecting both feet).
A sonogram was done on my legs which indicated no clotting. The doctor felt my feet and toes and said they were like ice cubes and noticed the right one was now purpleish blue at the toes as the left had been the night before.
The doctor agreed that the prednisone side effect may be causing my pain. He suggested an angiogram for further diagnosis, but I declined and left assuming the symptoms would lessen over the next few days. I have not taken the prednisone in 5 days and still experience pain and numbness in my feet, pain in my knees and hips and cannot stand or walk for any length of time without pain. I don't know how long this will persist and it seems doctors and people posting to the site can't say either. It would seem the length and severity of the symptoms is as varied as the symptons themselves. It appears to me after reading the postings that individuals are all affected differently (also dosage length of time on prednisone) In my opinion that makes its unpredictability a real risk for any individual.
Still waiting for normal.

My 9 month old just finished Omnicef which was prescribed for an ear infection. On day seven I noticed her stool was a "brick" red color and she went from a runny stoool to a very hard one. Thankfully I got on the internet to research Omnicef because I suspected there was a link. My baby is feeling better but I am anxious to see how long she remains constipated with "brick" red stool.

To the lady who wrote: "My husband has taken levaquin twice since October. After taking the drug he has had bleeding in an eye. Today we found that he has lost almost all the sight in his right eye. Has anyone else reported this type of problem. Today he had a shot in his eye to lessen the swelling. "
I suffered an arterial occlusion on day seven of taking levaquin. I am now severely visually impaired in my right eye. None of the usual causes apply to me (i.e. plaque or blood clots due to bad heart). Am now going through dozens of tests to find out what did happen. Since then I have suffered deep pins and needlesand numbness on the entire left side of my body which they're saying is a TIA. "mini-stroke that causes no damage to brain". Again.. none of the usual causes apply to me.
Did your husband take advil, motrin, even aspirin while on levaquin? If so that might be it. My deepest sympathies to your husband and you too. I'm hoping this is all he suffers.

I, too, am a recent "victim" of Levoquin. Went to the doctors on January 14th with swollen neck glands and generalized physical weakness. Thought that I had mono but a quick culture revealed a strep infection. A RX was written for Keflex. I insisted on a 24/48 hr. culture and sensitivity. Thirteen days later my doctor phoned me at work (without a doubt I should be looking for another Practice!!) and said that the strep would not respond to Keflex but that it would respond to Levoquin. My lucky day! This was the beginning of the end. So, for the first ten days of this infection I was on Keflex. Then seven days of Levoquin 500 mg. daily. A repeat culture done on February 10th still revealed Strep. Way to go Levoquin! Now I am on a twenty day course of Levoquin 500 mg. daily (the doctor refers to it as a nuclear bomb). No kidding, Dick Tracy! Shoulder pain is unrelenting, joint pains all over, glands are still swollen, throat is swollen, ears ache, do not sleep.... even with the aid of Ambien, AND, my eyelids are scalded. A new side effect for this medication? This is day seven of this round. I don't know if I will make it to day twenty. I am still waiting for a return call from my doctor. Help! How in the world can a medication that causes so much harm be good for you? I would love to see the test study data on product.

I stopped taking my Bactrim last night after a trip to the emergency room. From the first day of taking it for bronchitis, I started having headaches, pain behind my eyes and could not sleep well. On my sixth day of the medication, I started feeling dizzy and nauseated constantly. By day seven I was running fever of 101 and that evening, broke out into a rash from head to toes. My skin was itchy and tingling and it was getting difficult to breath. I immediately went to the ER. They have me taking Benadryl 3 times a day for 3 days until the rash clears up. I am not a fan of this medication….and I still have bronchitis!!
