I went on Apri almost a year ago and had no weight gain, no breakthrough bleeding, virtually no side effects until this summer. I started having anxiety and panic attacks during my spring semester (I'm now a senior in college) and although I usually deal with stress pretty well, I thought that it was just because I was having a rough semester.

But in the past two months I've had a consistent nervous stomach and I've lost almost 15lbs from not being able to eat as much (not a good thing, I'm already a little underweight for my height). I started to have mood swings and that led straight into depression, so bad that even on vacation in Aruba I cried almost every day and night. I felt pathetic and anti-social and angry and basically scared that I'd never come out of this "phase." I called a therapist but couldn't even follow through with that. Then last week I went to the emergency room for severe stomach pain and they did some bloodwork and sent me home because "nothing was wrong." I'm also breaking out, which hasn't happened since I was like 15. Finally I went to a gyno who said this could all be side effects from the pill. If that's true than this all could have been prevented, and that upsets me greatly, but I also feel relieved that this might be over soon.

Everyone is different but if anyone is feeling things like this on Apri, see a doctor because it might be as simple as changing the pill or going off of it completely, which I plan on doing asap. Sorry but using condoms is better than being physically and mentally unstable.

I have been on the ring for 8 months now, and believe it is the culprit of my emotional "thinness". Since I have been on the ring I have felt as though I have little control over my emotions. This has affected both my work life and personal relationships, as I have absolutely no ability to deal with stress, which was once a great motivator for me. I find it difficult to concentrate, and feel depressed despite being at a moment of positive and exciting changes. I cry for the silliest reasons, and this seems to intensify to an almost psychotic level the week before my period. I have been on birth control for 8 years and did not experience such extreme mood swings on oral contraceptives

lisa...

my heart rate was fast and at around 90 to 120 beats per minute for a good 4 months after i got off yasmin.... no jokes it was an absolute nightmare i would be able to feel it pounding in my chest....
twice i went to hospital and both times they said it was nuthing and my job must be stressing me out... thats crap because i can deal with stress very well... actualy i work alot better under pressure...
now is my 5th month off yasmin and my heart rate has dropped to about 80-85 beats which is still kinda high but much better... normal is around 75-79 im told... although it depends on the person and how fit you are...
now i only get bad palpitatins when im ovulating and sometimes during the week leading up to my period....
dont panic i promise you it will get better its just a slow process... i found drinking lots of water helped me alot and taking big deep breaths helped open up my chest and airway....
i hope next month ill be able to say its gotten even better....
just try not to concentrate on ur heart beat all the time and whatever you do dont be like me and take your pulse a hundred times a day....ha ha ha i was bad!!!
you will be ok just hang in there
remember we are all here for you

Was perscribed this by a dermitoligist for minor acne, and have had more self doubt and uneasiness with daily tasks like coping with small discrepincies at work. It's almost a depressing feeling that has come over me, with very much inability to deal with stress. Not sure if I will continue this med
