My daughter who just turn 7 has been on and off Zyrtec for the past 6 months. This last time it finally clicked... She was on it for about 3-4 weeks and I notice her mood changed and she was now very angry at anything and started hitting her sibblings and throwing things at me out of anger. She also was waking up at night either with bad dreams, or couldn't sleep. My husband and I realized that this all started about the time we put her back on Zyrtec. Two days ago, I took her off it and the next day she was an "Angel" compared to before. WOW what a difference. I did notice today (day two) she was sneezing more and didn't feel as well physically. So we are not out woods yet.
She also has been taking Singular for several years and I have been reading more about that medicine as well. I am not sure if needs to be taken off that yet, and will do an experiment. The timing isn't the best since school starts in just two weeks, but it might be worth it to have a happy child again.
On a side note, last year in school, they diagnosed her as having social anxiety. She is "extremely" shy and closed off in school. It would take her hours to do her homework which should have taken about 30 min. I am curious if stopping singular would help clear her head and make her less anxious. (She was on Zyrtec as well during that time).
This would be such an answer to prayer if it works. My two sons are so much happier than my daughter and I always wondered why. This may be the answer!

I've had bronchitis for approximately a month. I finally went to the doctor on Feb. 7th for treatment. He put me on Prednisolone and wrote me a script for Levaquin. He told me not to take it unless I presented with fever and green mucous discharge, so I never filled it. Five days later I had 103 fever and felt like crap. My husband took me to the doctor where I got a chest x-ray, which was clear, a shot of Rocephin (sp?) antibiotic, a shot of Decadron steroid, Ambien to help me sleep, and 12 days of 750 mg of Levaquin. I truly believe my problems are caused from the Levaquin. I've had nausea, shortness of breath, insomnia even with the Ambien, night sweats, headaches, mini panic attacks, shall I go on.....Today will be day 7 of treatment. I can't continue taking it. I can't function this way. I'll be glad to get another shot of Rocephin for treatment. NO MORE LEVAQUIN!!

After numerous decadron shots, I finally went on a prednisone dose pak last week. All this started after falling and pulling a muscle in my side.
My 1st side effect was this wonderful feeling/energy after day #2. If I would have been up to it, I would have cleaned my entire house and still hunted for something to clean. I told someone I felt 20 years old and may feel 15 after finishing the pak. No such luck.
2 nights ago, I couldn't stop feeding my face. This went on for about 3 hours. I ate everything edible that I could find, even going as far as pouring italian dressing all over a chicken breast and gulping it down, yucky.
Today, I'm miserable. My stomach feels 10x's bigger than usual, and I feel so bloated/full even though I've not eaten much today. I actually took a laxative thinking this might help the fullness feeling.......no such luck.
I've never taken this. The extent of my medications is Crestor 10 mg 2x week. I'm an LPN in a busy doctors office, so I know what's going on with my body.
I'm hoping this fullness feeling will go away without any complications. I'm off work tomorrow, so it will be tuesday before I can report my side effects.

Diagnosed with an ANCA positive small vessel vasculitis, I have been on prednisone for 8 weeks, (after decadron). Here are some good news, sideeffects are minimal, I feel great! The dissapering of all the vasculitis simptoms have made me a new person...I love it! No acne, very little swelling, but I do not consume any salt at all, I exercise, I enjoy life and I am sure that our attitude plays a great role here as well. The combination I was perscribed with, is Gabapentin 300mg per day...could that make a dference?

I don't think that 1 grapefruit per day can do the bladder infection; I was eating or drinking 3 grapefruit servings (juice or fruit) 3 days/day. I am using an Italian salad dressing with vinegar to try to offset drinking it!...but I did start the cranberry juice yesterday...good luck to all....
I just hope my 'new' doctor doesn't put me back on any steroids...it just seems that each of the (4) doctors I saw 'gave up' and put me back on them for lack of what else to do...the last one had me on prednisone for 2 weeks and then wean down on those and start on a low Decadron for 2 weeks to hopefully prevent the hives from returning...then this new doc took me off all of them ...I've been off a week now, just on antihistimines and Dixopen...so far just a little, bearably, itchy...

I received a Kenalog shot for a sinus infection on January 14 of this year (2005). The amount of Kenalog was to give me inflammation relief in my sinuses for 6 months. A week later, I received a Decadron (sp?) shot - fast acting steroid for a sever sinus headache.
Since this time, I had allergy testing and found out the culprit to my sinus problems (molds, dust mites, some grasses & trees, ragweed). I have started allergy shots.
But, since I have had the Kenalog & other injections, I have had five heavy menstrual periods in the past 2 months. If I don't keep something in my stomach at all times, it feels as if the bottom falls out. I get really weak. My sugar levels tested fine. I have never experienced this prior to the kenalog. I am now somewhat depressed and get anxious. I also get tingling on the top & back of my head. MRI & CT Scan showed nothing... again, this never happened before the Kenalog & other steroid injections. My TSH thyroid level also came back as being slightly elevated. Again, was normal before injections.
This has been terrible. I would never recommend steroid injections to anyone. I just pray my body gets back to normal in time. But, since it was a six month injection, I just hope it doesn't take that long!

After my first Zometa infusion, I experienced flu-like symptoms for the following day: fatigue, overall achiness. I stayed in bed. A prominent doctor advised me to take Decadron and Tylenol prior to my next monthly infusion. This took care of the flu-ish symptoms, but kept me up at night for a couple of nights. Next time I'm going to try going without the pre-treatment and see if it was just a one-time thing.
However, after 5 or 6 treatments I've developed a new side effect: my left ring finger is stiff and achy in the joint, most of the day, slightly painful, and it "clicks" when I bend it. Have others experienced this? Do you have a cure?

I got my first Kenalog shot a few days ago for allergy symptoms, and I gotta tell you, I definitely regret it! I had asked about side effects before the dr. gave it to me, and she said there weren't any. I feel like I should start a lawsuit!! Anyway, the side effects I'm having are no picnic and have already been changing my life: sleeplessness, anxiety, not breathing correctly, heart pounding like crazy! I'm wondering how long I have to ride this out, as the dr. said this shot is given for allergies 2x a year. I will NEVER get the shot again!!
