I started taking Advair 500/50 about 3 years ago in October. In October of 2004 I was about a size 9/10 and in the past years I am over 200lbs and wearing a size 16. I know that weight gain is normal with getting older but my diet plan would allow me to gain almost 55lbs in 3 years. On top of the weight gain I almost always get a sore throat and im always coughing up something. (Gross I know) MY moods are so wack..I have the weridest moodswings. I came by this website trying to find answers to why I couldnt loose all this weight and now I think that I have the answer. I have decieded to gradually take myself off Advair.

My 2 year old son had walking pnuemonia in Jan/2007. Besides antibiotics, the doctor prescribed Singulair to help with allergies, which may have started his sickness. I noticed a few days ago the white of one of his eyes was grayish looking. I wasn't sure whether to take him to the doctor or not. My husband and I decieded to take him off of his Singular, and his eye is getting back to a normal white.

When I had asked the pharmacy in Jan. if there was any side effects, they said No. I also have noticed a change in his behavior. I think this also could be due to Singulair.

My son will not be taking Singulair again.

im only 17 and ive been on advair for about 3 years now... at first it was wonderful.. stoped 99% of my asthma symptoms and is still continuing to do so, unfortunately in the last 3 years ive gone from 100 lbs to 140.. i know that since in a teenager this doesnt seem abnormal but it still worries me... im VERY athletic but still continue to gain weight? after reading all the other advair users say that weight gain was a major side affect for them, i have decieded to get off of it.. gradually of course.. hopefully i will start to see a difference.. is this a good idea?

I am a 44 year old male with relatively good health with the eception of severe allergies since moving to North Carolina ten years ago. I have been on all the typical drugs over the years and started the shots two years ago and have gotten significant relief. Two months ago, my Allergist started me on Singulair for the Spring season. My oldest son seem to get relief from the drug, so I decieded to try it.

At first, it was great to breath with such ease and not have to carry around my inhaler all the time. But over time, a crazy and bizarre side effect began to emerge. I have never dreamed much or had trouble sleeping or walked or talked in my sleep. Since being on Singuliar, I have done all of these things. The dreams are so vivid and real that many times when I wake up, I can't tell reality from the dreams. They seem to last all night long and go on and on and on.

The last two nights have proven to be the last straw. I have dreamed about murder, my dog wearing a diaper, and many other bizarre things all of which seemed normal to me while in the dream state. No more Singulair for me. I'll take my chances with sudafed and albuterol.
