I had my Mirena put in November 17 2008 and I've been bleeding ever since! Not just the normal "break through" bleeding either. It's definitely red and with clots. I've gained about 20lbs and I really don't eat that horrible! But my main concern is the bleeding. Does anyone else have this problem????

I was on Yasmin for the last 6 months before this one. My doctor was out of the Yasmin and gave me Yaz to try. After being on Yaz I have finally realized something. While I was on Yasmin I could NOT stop eating. I would eat a full dinner and then ten minutes later, even though I knew that I was full.. would go into the fridge and eat something more.. and then an hour later.. and so on. I have gained about 30 lbs. I just thought it was some weird depression I was having since I am slightly depressive anyways. Well.. now that I am on the Yaz....I feel completely different.. I do not have the out of control urge to eat, eat, eat. Finally I feel normal again. I am also not bloated with my stomach sticking out like before.. so I don't feel so disgusting physically. The Yaz is having its own little side effects...but for now I am doing a "wait and see." This is because they put my on Yasmin to help me out because I have a high testosterone level and it is supposed to not increase that like the other pills do.. it uses a different kind of androgen.. I definitely do NOT want to go back to the normal testosterone pills since they cause my testosterone levels to surge over the "normal" limit. Sigh, hopefully Yaz will work.

I actually only had mild headaches for the first week. I really like Femcon and am surprised that I didn't have nausea or bloating, but I have been fine. I would definitley recommend it to anyone wanting to try a low dose pill.

My doctor prescribed this (actually the generic version - sulfameth/trimethoprim) medication to me to treat a bite that got infected on my foot. The infection went away, but after day 7 of taking this (out of 10 days) I awoke with rash-like bumps all over my thighs, that eventually started spreading to other areas on my body. Sort of like hives and a sunburn combination.
I've had this now for 4 days and started taking Benadryl and anti-inflamatory creams to control it. It slowly seems to go away now, but it definitley is a lengthy process.

I have been on this med for 8 yrs and trying to get off it. It is a horrible drug. i take it because i had a kidney transplant that messed up my blood preasure. I had all the syptoms of anxiety because this med and now taken lexpro to balance out the anxiety. im glad i came across the page cause i take so many meds for my transplant and on top of the blood preasure and now anxiety meds its taken a tole on my liver. so i will definitley talk to my doctor about getting me off the lexapro and trying a different blood preasure med. I have been on Advair for about 2 months now, the biggest side effect I have noticed is the loss of my voice. it's just gone. I also have had some stomach pain, and extremely dry skin. After reading the postings on this site I am definitley going to speak to my doctor about alternatives, because this stuff is scary!

I'm recovering from bacterial pneumona. My doctor started me on Advair a few weeks ago. It definitley helped my breathing, but I have gained 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I've also been experiencing pain in my left hip. I'm a runner and I thought I may have done something without remembering. This site confirms the side effects I'm experiencing. I tossed the my disquette in the trash and will rely on the albutarol.

I found this website and it was truly a God send. I have been taking Yasmin for over a year and in that year I have gradually expeienced the following: horrible horrible anxiety (times I couldn't leave the house), numerous panic attacks, nausea, stomachaches (so bad I was told I had IBS but now I wonder), headaches, dizziness, heavy clumpy periods, irritiability, moodiness, shaking hands and overall depression. I honestly thought I was losing my mind. I was a social, happy go lucky person with NO medical problems before I started taking Yasmin. I have a great job, great group of friends & family, fantastic boyfriend and all around happy life and there were times that I would rather sleep the day away than spend time with any of them.
I came across this website and I cried b/c I came to realize that everything that was happening to me could be cause by this pill. I immediately called to make an appt. with my doctor. She told me to finish out my last pack and we'd wait and see how I felt (meanwhile I had to also take anti-anxiety pills b/c it had gotten so bad) I took my last pill 5 days ago and I feel better - I am about to get my period though so next week is my true test of whether or not this pill caused all the terrible feelings I have had over the past year.
I will definitley post an update but I wanted to post my story b/c I found everyone else's expeiences so comforting - knowing that I was not alone and it wasn't just a coincidence that some people on the same pill had the same side effects. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR if it is unbearable - I am taking a break from any hormones for a while. This was such a horrible experience for me...
Hugs to everyone who is feeling any of the terrible side effects - you are not alone!!

I was recently diagnosed with a UTI and was prescribed Doxycycline for it. I had taken 5 of the 7 days of the script, with no relief. I went back to the Dr. and was given a 7 day sample of Levaquin. I took one last evening around 8pm, and needless to say...I got about 4 hours of sleep. Not continuous sleep either, that was in about 30 minute intervals. The nausea set in, my head started pounding, I was freezing and hot all at the same time. When I finally did get to sleep, I had horrible vivid dreams, woke up completely drenched, my heart racing, out of breath, and my head still throbs. I am also having trouble swallowing. I am so wiped out I can barely type this message. I can barely climb the stairs without having to sit down and rest afterwards. I did not get any kind of side effect leaflet due to this being a sample, and thought I would look it up on the Internet. Well...I am glad that I read this before looking up the general side effects, as I will not be taking the remaining 6 pills. I am a single mother with 3 small children, work full time, and definitley do not have time in my schedule to feel like this!
