The first night I took Sulfameth, I took it before bed without eating something first. BIG MISTAKE! I woke up at 1am throwing up and didn't stop for over an hour! it was so bad my mother had to rush me to the E.R. by the time I got there I was throwing up blood and pieces of my esophogus because it was so raw from throwing up so much! They put in an IV and i went through 2 bags of liquid and was still so dehidrated it was after 5:30 am before i was able to give them a urine sample! NOWHERE on the bottle or the paper given to me did it say to take with food!

My seven year old son just got out of the hospital after an adverse reaction to omnicef. It started with diarhea that became nonstop until he dehidrated. I stopped the med. on Monday after a stool test was taking that came back neg. for cedif(spelling- bad bacteria overgrowth). By Friday I had him back at Dr. because of nausea and severe stomach cramps. We were told it was probably a virus. By sat. a.m. we were at the ER and they ran the stool test again. This time it came back positive. He was so sick by this time that he spent two nights in the hospital with IV's. The scary thing is the antibiotic caused this and another antibiotic was needed to treat it!
