Thank God for googling. I'm not alone. It's great if Lisinopril is working for you, but as I can read by the posts I'm not nuts. The cough, oh the cough. Worse is when it comes and I'm at church. My wife and I are cantors and nothings worse when I would get that dry "got a feather in my throat" cough. Like everyone else my BP was riding above normal 150/90-95 and the Lisinopril brought it down to 115/70, but I quit a week ago and feel like normalcy is coming back into my life. BTW I was on 10mg dose for a little over a year and was just dumb to think that a BP med could cause all the side effects that I was experiencing: cough, mucus, numb extremities (mostly sleeping at night but enough to wake me up hence poor sleep), fatigue. Has anyone felt moody? I think this drug has made me very moody but that can probably be attributed to the lack of sleep. I hope the dark circles around my eyes disipate now that I'm sleeping better. Good luck to all!

Foggyhead
yes many people on this website have posted nausea as I have myself. It will pass. You are not vomiting right? We all know the scary feeling of permanent damage. We have all been there unfortunately none of us can say for sure, I am sorry to say I dont have any cold hard facts as to why this is happening to us, but only that I have experienced it myself and to have medical professionals telling you no this pill cant do this to you is a person talking excuse me but a person talking out his butt! Sorry, I dont care what little letters follow their name. Unless they care to put this little white pill in their mouth, I dont care to hear whats coming out of their mouth, unless it is of useful information to me. Sorry, now you know where the bitter part of the RN came from. I can only tell you from my experience much like the experience of many women on this website that yasmin seems to mess up your hormones more than any of the other pills on the market. It has a "unique" ingredient in it called drosperinone sp? that NO other bcp has. Something my gyn did not tell me when she prescribed it. I still dont know why this one seems to mess up (or depress the hormones I think) so much, but recovering from it takes a long time. As your body cycles each month naturally your hormones rise and fall at certain times. Now that the body has been through this yasmin rollercoaster, your hormones are all out of whack, and the body is trying to stay on its cycle but it has too much of some hormones and too little of others.. the causes all the systems of the body not to function well, because hormones are in a nutshell what make you feel good. From receptors firing in the brain, to digestion, to skin, to heart function. The body being in perfect balance with every puzzle piece in place (hormone on its receptor site) is what keeps all our systems running well. This is why you feel good sometimes (the lacking hormones are starting to rise) but then sometimes you dont (hormones naturally fall right before your period and then dont start to rise again until after your period, and then its the estrogen that rises first, progesterone doesnt rise till about 12 days after your period, when you ovulate then both fall again right before your period. See why you feel so up and down? I am still trying to figure all this out, believe me it is nothing I learned in nursing school, most of this I learned through relentless research on the internet and from doctors who understand hormones. Even then I am still in search of answers so I have an appt with a doctor I feel is on the cutting edge of hormones and hormone therapy, but he is so booked I cannot get in until March. Still I will have lots of questions, and hope he has some answers.
Sorry about the long post. Keep in touch.

I just read all the posts on this site and was wishing there was an answer after each one from someone who knows. I had a thyroidectomy a year ago and have had several things. The pop up rashes only lasted a few weeks and my sister-in-law had them too only lasting a few weeks when she started on another thyroid medecine. My psoriasis that I had didn't get worse but I got it on my face and had never had that before. I didn't get medecine for 10 days and I don't think that was a good idea. I got stiffness in a couple fingers which has gotten better now. Another lady I know didn't get medecine for 30 days and got carpel tunnel. I can't imagine why she didn't go into a coma by then. My gripe is that my tongue swells so that my teeth make it sore and especially when I lay down to go to sleep. I am so confused on the numbers and levels cuz when it looked like the levels were low, the Dr. put me on 125 instead of 137. I guess it goes backwards from what you would think. I was too tired on that level and my periods were screwed up and my tongue was too swollen so I cut up pills to bring myself back up to 137. I am alright for someone with a mild schedule but I take too many naps and can doze in a very interesting bible study or lay down on the couch and visit a friend and fall asleep on them and feel like a dork. I would appreciate any input from any of you. I do think there must be a lot of people happy on this drug because us who arent are the ones who would find a site like this so if you are new and reading this. Hey you might love it and do well. Reading all the problems would be enough to depress anyone. love y'all

I am 64 years old and I have been taking Depakote for app-
roximately 10 years. For many years I was diagonosed with
Bipolar. Through the years I have been on many anti-depress
ants. Some would work and some wouldn't. I got so sick and
tired of all the medications, I just wanted to throw them out
in the yard. However... for the past three to four years, I
have just been totally depressed. Going to different Dr.'s
trying this and that. Still depressed. So, this past week I
went to a new Dr. and guess what... he took me completely
off of Depakote. I was only taking 1,000 mgs. a day. In the
past I have taken as much as 2,100 mgs a day. Once I got
toxic, didn't even know my own name. Couldn't even call
anyone for help because my memory was in such bad shape.
Weight gain, memory loss, leg aches, swollen feet and legs,
and it messed up my thyroid. Felt drugged every morning,
tired all the time, didn't want to go anywhere, just wanted to
sleep all the time and let everything go. It's a horrible feeling
to have. You don't have a life. There has been many times
in my past, that I had just soon been dead. But.......I would
be a fool to do something so stupid! I have two wonderful
sons and four lovely grandchildren. Those of you that are on
Depakote, I wish you the best of luck. And remember...
you are suppose to have blood work done every three months
so that the Dr. can know your Depakote level.

A younger less drug skeptical me took prednisone for poison oak (talk about the remedy worse than the disease!). I had a major allergic reaction (hives, difficulty breathing, etc) and was given a big shot of benadryl at the ER.

This may sound crazy, but this was four years ago, and I am not sure my body ever got over it. My immune system is no good, and I (a person who takes great care of myself-happy, love my life, organic foos, exercise, etc) was SO sick the winter after the prednisone.

I still catch everything that seems to come by, adn I think its related to that vile drug.

I researched and did learn that according to studies, pred can depress the immune system for up to a year. If that is what the studies say, i am willing to bet its a hell of a lot longer than that.....

I've had prescriptions for alprazolam for over 3 yrs. I love this drug more than sex, food, vacations- it's the best feeling in the world to me. I can go places I normally feel uncomfortable, like a sports bar. The only bad part are the seizures when I run out- I can't hold onto a bottle loger than half a month- and I get over 100 mgs- I've had one on the beach, in a car, at 2 different jobs, in the shower- I've gotten better, though. Now, I taper off as much as possible- Xanax is responsible for the loss of my truest, longest love, my car, my best job, my independence/apartment, friends, family, money, reputation-- but I still love to take my Xanax tea and listen to music and see where the day takes me more than anything else- Oh yeah- it also makes me crave going to Manhattan to walk from one end to the other with my headphones- my advice-- never run out and always taper off halving for at least 5 days and finish with small amounts, even .25 for a week. I'm currently on 3 sticks a day :) Maybe the next seizure will kill me, but I'll go happy. One really great side effect is the memory loss- all the stuff that used to depress me has burned away.

After 5 days taking levaquin that have been prescribed for a sinus condition my daughter started having strange feeling, being afraid of people. She when to the eR and they told her to stop taking them immediately. 2 days later she tried to kill herself.

When brought to another hospital they did not beleive the other doctor diagnosis and thought she was depress. After she recovered a day or two later, they realized she was not depress at all and that the cause was the Levaquin.

This is a very dangerous medication and I do not understand that nobody is doing something for it to be retired from the market.

I started taking this drug last January and it gave me so much pain. I had tremors and finger twisting last April. Everytime I would do something new or do something that requires courage....I tremble and would not try to do it because of anxiety. I started to get palpitations everytime I wake up and the excitement I had in my life disappeared.
I got so depress and emotional crippled. I asked the doctor about it but she said refuse to comment that the medicine has an adverse effect on me. I am seeking another doctor to know if there is another medicine aside from Levoxyl so I can be my normal self again.

On April 8,2003. I was put on 500 MG of Levaquin for what they said could be a Breast infection. This medicine is the worst thing out there. I been sick since day 1. I have a red rash from head to toe, also have welts all over my body. Burning in my face.I am itchy all over my body. My left eye hurts, diarrhea, can not even keep fluids in.Head-aches,muscle pains and cramping . Depress all the time. I have trouble focusing, need family to read simple things to me.I cannot sit still for any length of time,iI have to keep moving around. The worst part is it may not even be an infection I have. This was given to me as a precaution.I had none of these problems before I started taking this drug.
