Desparate symptoms and conditions

My son is 14 years old and was given two rounds of this drug for an infection (two weeks and one week respectively). Last round in the middle of September. The pain started with the first round and got worse the second time. Real bad. We had him tested for a multitude of diseases and x-rayed the knees - all came back normal. We finally stumbled onto the fact that the joint pain coincided with the drug - WE WERE NEVER WARNED!

Well, he's a heck of an athlete/student/good kid...and has been wrestling since he's 5 years old, has competed nationally and this sport is "his thing." Well, now he's finally in high school and can barely make it through practice - can't go live at all. The pain and stiffness ain't going away even though he's been off it since September!

What in the world can we do to treat this effectively (or t all)? Doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory meds and they did nothing. Physical therapy is doing nothing. Ultrasound treatment on knees is doing nothing.

How long will it last?

Help please anybody with any information - we're disparate.

Hello! I have been on Yasmin since I was 18 years old (I just turned 22), but in the last 6 months I started getting panic attacks. I have always been very self confident and have never had problems with anxiety ever. I never thought to check into my bc pills because I have been taking them for some time and have never had a problem. But now that I look back I did stop and start them again 5-6 months before the symptoms started. So Im not sure if this would be from that, but Im desparate to find some type of solution.

I just finished my 10 day cycle of sulfameth/trimeth for a sever sinus infection - I have barely been able to eat the whole time - forcing myself to when I started to feel too weak - i love food and it has not appealed to me. I have felt nauseus and like there was a granite slab sitting in thepit of my stomach. I have also been extrmeely moody - just thought that was from lack of eating. Definitely dehydrated. Been getting leg cramps the whole time and one day I couldn't touch the skin on my right calf - i thought I had caused nerve damage from a short jog on the beach, but it was gone the next day. Then, lo and behold, on today, the last day, the nausea is still there, I feel tired and my back is really sore and I am covered head to toe in a really ugly rash. SOund familiar? I was told that there were no side effects to this drug except for dehydration. THis is first first time I have taken antibiotics in 10 years and I am not happy with the decision, but was so desparate.

My poor son was put on prednisone 3 times a day 50mg. each for mono. Poor thing he has been suiciidal, depressed, halucinating, rashes and more. This drug is awful and should only be given in a desparate situation,

I just started taking Advair again last week. I was desparate since my asthma seems to be getting worse but I am only staying on this medicine until I can find something different. Immediately after I started taking it, I developed a horrible sore throat and I sometimes feel as if I am choking.

My internist is a super doctor. when I didn't get my period and I went to my gyno, he denied the fact that it's due to the bc and came up w/ all sorts of excuses. He sent my with my thyroid results to an endocronlogist. Luckily I checked w/ my internist before I spent all that time and money at the endo. He said my thyroids are perfect, and the minute i said i came off b/c he said it takes 6 months to detox-its absolutely normal how i feel and that i shouldn' take vitex but provera.
I understand you totally with the weight issue. I was also a dancer and how do you expect me to go on stage with that disfiguring-figure, excuse the pun.
I will definitely update you on how that pill is going. I have two close weddings next week and nothing fits so I'm all the more desparate. Keep posting voice, i'll definitely be back w/ an update.

My 15 yr. old daughter was given Levaquin at age 12, thats 3 years ago. After the first pill she started having leg muscle cramps and pain in her elbow. As the more of the 5 pills she was to take went on she continued with joint pain in knees and hips and her feet. Well its been 3 years of this and she is no better, the pain is not severe all the time but it is still there. What are you suppose to do. Why was she given this medicine when it plainly states on the package not to give to children under the age of 18, well the PA who saw her did not pay attention to this and the Doctor who signed his charts did not catch it either. I am sure the Dr. didnot even read the notes, but reguardless my daughter is left with these painful side effects and the Orthopedist we took her to right after it happened said oh give it time it will get out of her system. Well we are still waiting 3 years later. How much worse is it going to get? I have hired an Attorney but as there are no case studies on children he cannot do anything. There is plenty of case studies on small or young animals. A shame I didnt give birth to a animal isnt it. Please tell me where I can find my answer to the studies reported on children. We are desparate I want to know when this is going to stop? thank you mltbranch
