I recently discovered that my Yasmin birthcontrol could be what is making me feel anxious and depressed lately. It comes in bursts one or more times a day where I feel lots of axiety, depressed and thoughts that I cant live like this anymore. I have stopped taking it and was wondering if anyone knew anything that could help me to relax when ever I start feeling out of control. I'm hoping to get it all out of my system soon and start feeling back to normal again. I'm tired of feeling scaired and sad and anxious. Any one else feel the same way? Any success stories from stopping the pill and how soon did you start feeling good again?

I have been on Yasmine for 6 months now. I just found this site coincidentally while seeking an explanation for why did my life change? I have not taken birth control pills for years, and have decided to take Yasmin because my friend recommended it. That was the worse thing I've done for myself in years.
Today, after reading all the posts and identifying with many of the symptoms, I feel I am obliged to share my experience too.
I am a very successful realtor and my job is very demanding in activity. I was on vacation since Oct last year for 3 months until the end of the year. Oct was when I started to take Yasmin. I attributed my sudden 10 lbs gain to my vacation and indulgence, I attributed me not being able to wake up and go to the gym at 6am to my laziness of my extended vacation, I attributed my mood swings and depression to the fact that I have been away from my work for so long I'll have to work hard and suffer to get back on track.... but today I have a different idea about what's going on.
I will be finishing this pack this month, and I will be off this pill forever. I cannot believe i've been lying to myself and blaming all the bad stuff that I've been going through on my extended vacation!
I so much miss waking up early and going to the gym, being at my office bright and early at 8am and having a fabulously productive day without any mental pain or suffering... I've been so depressed I've been sleeping 9 to 10 hours a day, plus I've been so wanting to just drink and get away from people.
What a mess.... someone needs to speak up to these pharmaceutical companies and stop them from releasing such detrimental medication into the market. This can be very damaging to lives and women not even noticing. I've even had thoughts that life is not worth living.... how did I get to that if I am a brilliant happy and shiny human being???
I hope more women find this site and stop taking this pill. I will do my part to inform everybody and help anyone I can reach.
Love to all of you!

ALL, if you are taking TOPAMAX for migraines you need to read the article in last year's Science News where doctors have linked the migraines to a heart defect that is common in women and once corrected the migraines go away completely. Long term use of TOPAMAX may be detrimental to your health. I recently posted: My wife is experiencing massive hair loss. She had a metabolic panel ran on her to ensure it is not thyroid and is scheduled to see a specialist on hair loss next week. I just came off the National Institute of Health website at www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a697012.html where they list hair loss as one of the problems with the drug. They recommend that you see a physician immediately. My Wife's hair was literally coming out by the roots and since her hair is naturally thin it won't be long before she is bald unless she can get it stopped.

I have been recently increased from 200mg over 2 years to 300mg over the past few months and have noticed side effects of headaches (severe), weight gain (10kg over 2 years), skin itchiness, insomnia and jaw clenching/grinding over the course of treatment. All efeects more severe in past few months. I have had some improvement in severe depresiion but agree that side effects can be detrimental to mental well being! I am currently reducing intake and increasing magnesium and vitamin intake. Any suggestions re:magnesium. St John Wort was noi good but so far magnesium is helping!!

I just started on Advair 100 last week and really loved the stuff from day one. This is the first time I've ever felt completely free from asthma. No wheezing or difficulty in breathing at all. I've struggled with terrible asthma all my life and would say that it has reduced the quality of my life.
Anyway, the only problem I noticed after starting the Advair was that my voice is now starting to go. This is the first time in my life where my voice is a bit raspy and hoarse, so I know it's because of the Advair.
So searching for information concerning loss of voice eventually brought me to this site. Let me say how sad I am to find out that the only medication that's been this helpful to me could be so detrimental to my health :(
Does anybody know if I just reduce from 2 uses a day to maybe once a day, or once every other day if that would reduce my chances of developing weight gain, mouth fungus, etc, etc? Please reply to me at: ******
I am very concerned and would be sad if I had to give it up.

Have taken 500Mg Levaquin for bronchitus or bacterial pnemonia. Experiencing four days of night sweats and symptoms of paranoia, wandering the house hold and causing general upset. I am also a diabetic Type 2 which was considered during the diagnosis. I find nothing good to say about the drug and consider it detrimental to my ongong health issues. What with halo vision and nausia.
The couse of Levaquin treatment was prescribed for ten days. Will discontinue today. How do these drugs get recommended by physicians without clear warnings.
Yasmin (2) Topamax (1) NuvaRing (1) Advair HFA (1) Luvox (1) Levaquin (1)

I started the ring seven months ago and thought, at first, that it was perfect. Though my period lasted 12 days when I first inserted it and my mood swings were monstrous (upon insertion) the first couple months After about 3 months my moodiness - now, one week before I start my period - has become uncontrollable. At first, it was just sore, enlarged breasts and a slight decrease in my sex drive, then it became, depression and crying for no reason, then a burning sensation in my hips and now my depression and crying jags have become all consuming and detrimental to my entire well-being. I would like to know what type of BC that women with similar symptoms have started taking. I need to change before my entire life becomes compromised because of my mood swings.
