i have been on the nuvaring for about five years, at the start before i put it in had sever acne and fluid retention, i started on the NR and i did get nausea and breast/nipple tenderness the week i put it in for about three months then i loved it, skin came good and the weight came off. in the last maybe year or two i have been had these problems, anxiety, heart palpitation, diarrhea like IBS symptoms with cramps and pelvic pain, bladder pain, stomach upsets, dizziness and yeast infections continuously, also the total loss of libido like im a dead fish!
i have since decided to go off it, im a week off it now and i have had spotting and some dark brown bleeding, bloated, aching muscles and pelvic area, nausea, and sleeplessness with a raised heart rate at rest. the main problem at the moment is the tiredness, i just cant do anything! im struggling to get out a bed and even when i do i feel lik im falling asleep and my body and limbs are lik rocks..
i hope this doesn't last long its taken over my life!

I have been taking now the 1000mg a day & i have gained weight and i experience diarrhea and nausea. I read someone else's comment about it regulating their period. Hasn't done that for me and I have very irregular periods. Food that I used to love tastes horrible to me and i feel like it's making it harder for me to lose weight.

Our daughter is now 5 1/2 and has been taking singulair since she was two, when she was diagnosed with asthma. She also has a slew of food and environmental allergies. It was not until she started taking Advair that her asthma became controlled. Her allergies still seem to bother her occasionally. I feel since her asthma is under control why take two meds? I did not refill her Rx and we are on day two of no Singulair. She's had headaches for two days and feels lousy. After reading the side effects of this drug I may now have answers to the headaches she'd get often and the moodiness and the sleepless nights and the deep dark circles under her eyes and the diarrhea. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks, although I agree that dose of antihistamine now and then is much better than all this other nonsense!

Wow, after reading everyone's side effects I don't feel so alone. I've been taking Metformin HCL 1000 mg/day for a few weeks now for PCOS. First it was the severe diarrhea, which has sort of subsided. However, my other symptoms have been getting worse. Such as: extreme fatigue for no reason, weird sweating like on my palms and chest, and severe thirst/frequent urination. I wake up at least 3 times a night to pee, but then I'm so incredibly thirsty I could drink a gallon of juice or water, but then of course I have to pee again. It's a never-ending cycle and I just want to know, do these symptoms go away after awhile? If not, I really don't want to take this anymore. I'm also bipolar and it's been affecting my moods making me very irritable and depressed.

I have been on Singulair for about one month and am experiencing extremely painful cramps/charlie horses in my legs. I am taking Singulair for adult onset asthma. Have a horrid cough, been told over the past 20 years, yes, 20 years, it is caused by allergies but no medication stops the coughing. Then they figured it had to be caused by acid reflux. So prilosec is prescribed. Still have the cough. Now this specialist deems it to be adult onset asthma. The Singulair does not stop the coughing - so what is next? Major leg cramps/charlie horses.

I am on the 6th day of my Z-Pak and I have to tell you, I was scared to death to take it after reading all the side effects posted here. But like many, I would rather deal with diarrhea and stomach cramps than the inability to breathe because of bronchitis. So, I took my chances.....
I don't know how I escaped it all, but I did not suffer one side effect! I wondered if maybe the fact that I no longer had my gallbladder had anything to do with it. Who knows? I feel better and wouldn't hesitate to take it again.
I started feeling better on the third day and feel better more every day.
Thank you!

I went to the Er last week and they told me I had a UTI and they gave me Cipro and Pyridium. Well I started taking the Cipro on thanksgiving and by the next morning I was so sick to my stomach and my heart was beating very irregular and I was having palpitations. well I have a bad heart valve so I thought I was that but now I am beginning to think it was the Cipro. I had only taken it for a few days when I really started feeling bad. muscle cramps so bad at night I could hardly stand it, irregular heartbeats to the point I could not sleep and nausea and diarrea. I am still not feeling good and having all kind of problems after a week. this the second medicine I have had a bad reaction to. the other one was Bactrim for a UTI back in October. I think I will just stick to over the counter medicine.

I went on levaquin-2 rounds of it, due to pneumonia. I felt very out of sorts and discombobulated. Dizzyness, word recall problems, insomnia, diahrrea. My tongue was coated with a thick white film. One night my tongue and my hand felt very disconnected to me, and I had a strange but familiar taste or sensation in my mouth but I couldn't name it. It lasted 3 or 4 minutes. I think I may have had a petit mal seizure. I have been having trouble with my vision, things I read are blurry now, and I have never worn glasses, or had vision problems before. I have been off of this medication for 6 days now, and I am still feeling some of these side effects. I rarely have any side effects from medications. I will never take this again.

I get weekly Iron Dextran Injections 2 mls. The day after the injection the diahrrea begins. I have Crohn's and it's seems to be really exacerbating my problem. I have been getting these shots intermittently for almost 5 years. Other side effects have included back ache, leg cramps, and persistent heachache. Easy brusing is also always apparent

My 15 month old son was prescribed Omnicef for an ear infection. He's had severe diahrrea... in fact today we've been through 3 outfits, which prompted me to do some research and find this site! He's been a little clingy, but that's normal for him if he's not feeling good.
The diahrrea is what is concerning us. We're calling the doctor first thing Monday morning.

My 26 yr old daughter took Omnicef following sinus surgery 2 wks ago. She developed a rash on her face, vomiting, & reddish diahrrea, followed by vaginal & rectal itching & pain. Returned to her GP 1 wk after surgery & was told she doesn't have any urinary or yeast infection. However, she was treated as if she had a yeast infection. The side effects are making her incredibly irritable due to discomfort. Don't know what to do next, but we know she will never take this med again. It seems quite dangerous.
The Dr was quite indifferent regarding her situation.

My six year old daughter was prescribed omnicef for a chronic cough and some upper respiratory infections. She took this drug for ten days. She experienced some bloody diahrrea. Even after completing taking this medicine she experience having more bloody stools. The doctor tested her stool (for cultures) it came back negative. Although she tested positive for blood in her stools. They ordered more test and are possibly thinking about surgery if she does not stop bleeding everytime she has a bowl movement. I am convinced that this medicine had something to do with her bleeding. She has always had normal stools until she started taking this medicine. If anyone is experiencing this side effect well after they have stoped taking omnicef, please contact me. My 2 year old was prescribe this medicine also, he got the worse case of diarreah that I have ever seen. His bottom is still not fully recovered from the rash and it has been a month now. He had the perfect bottom. WARNING DO NOT GIVE THIS ANTIBIOTIC TO YOUR CHILD. THERE ARE WORSE SIDE EFFECTS THAT ARE NOT LISTED.

I took Yasmin for 2 months. Two weeks ago I stopped taking it because it seemed as though my stomach was constanty upset, I had diahrrea and stomach pains. I did not have these symptoms until the 3rd week of the 2nd month. I have been off of it for about 2 weeks now and still have an upset stomach. Anyone else have similar situation with Yasmin. How long does it take for it to get out of your system. Thanks :)

Anxiety, depression, diahrrea, dizziness, no energy. I have seen all of these listed here. Unable to sleep at night, lack desire to do stuff I used to love. Doctor then prescribed Wellbutrin which appears to have made it worse. I am stopping both drugs.

I have had the worst diahrrea with ultracet. It is a wonder I haven't accidently killed myself with this. I'd get the diahrrea and take an OTC remedy for it while not realizing the diahrrea was from the ultracet. I'd sleep for about 3 hours at a time, wake up for 30 minutes, and struggle to go back to sleep. I was wondering why it did nothing for my pain and then found out it is an opiate derivative. I'm one of those not susceptible to opiates for pain relief. However, when given an opiate I do hallucinate. No wonder I was seeing spiders. I'm going to ride out the withdrawal and see what happens. Wish me luck.

I started Yasmine 1 week ago yesterday. I vomited on Wednesday night and have been nauseous ever since. I can't eat and I have to stay close to the bathroom since as well because the diahrrea won't stop. I have lost all motivation to do anything. I lost sex drive as well which hasn't ever happened. I am exhausted all the time. I am very easily irritable and have snapped at my husband for dumb things all week. I cry at the drop of a hat. Does anyone know the tv show Scrubs? I started crying at the end of that. I get entire body aches. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow to get off this. I feel a bit better towards night, then I take my pill right before bed and then by morning I feel terrible again. My arms have been extremely dry. I knew immediatley that it was Yasmin because of the immediate extreme side effects. I switched because of the weight gain from the last pill. I'll take a few extra pounds over what I'm getting now. My husband immediately googled the side effects of Yasmine and I'm so grateful to know this is the pill and that I'm not psycho and falling apart.

High cholesterol. currently 56 y/o. been on lipitor a total of 4 years. put on lipitor 10 in the beginning. triglycerides doubled on this dose. changed to lipitor 20. cholesterol went down from 259 to 144. triglycerides came down to normal.
stated suffering the following symptoms within one month of going on lipitor. doctor has ignored my complaints of constant tiredness & weakness. i don't think he knows that lipitor can cause these side effects. i will be educating him on friday. when my triglycerides doubled again recently, he raised my lipitor to 40mg. i have only take it one month & stopped taking it yesterday. my symptoms are getting worse with the doubled dose. surely there is something else they can do to lower cholesterol.
(1) numbness & shooting pain in my right leg from hip to foot (was put on neutontin 600 three times per day)
(2) short-term memory loss. sometimes i just can't put a coherent thought together. sometimes i reach for a word & i just can't grab hold of it. i have felt like i was getting alzheimer's.
(3) bloating of the abdomen
(4) so hot at times i feel like my body thermostat is going haywire or i am going to spontaneously combust.
(5) muscle weakness in legs when walking, weakness/tremors in my hands when trying to hold something.
(6) pronounced changes in vision
(7) weight gain (especially at the abdomen)
(8) occasional dizziness combined with nausea
(9) alternating constipation & diahrrea
(10) total and complete exhaustion
(11) severe depression (treated with zoloft 100)
thyroid was checked. everything a-ok (although i still believe i could be having some thyroid issues inspite of those normal readings).

The info on this site is certainly affirming and helpful! My doctor started me on 10 mg Lisinopril about 10 days ago, saying it had virtually no side effects except "a mild dry cough for some". I was especially concerned about starting on a med, as I tend to have sensitivity to various drugs and their side effects. My doctor assured me this drug would be safe for me. Within the first three days, I had my first bout of diahrrea; several days later I had a rash on both arms, which went away. Because symptoms seemed to be intermittent, I told myself they couldn't be from the Lisinopril...especially since my doctor assured me there were no side effects! I also was unusually fatigued, felt "flu-ish", so chalked it off to a bug. Last night was the last straw, with severe diahrrea for hours, unlike any I have ever had. I didn't take the med this morning, and will not take it again. I already feel better physically, the fatigue is gone, and my GI tract is better. I'm so anti-meds after all this, but don't want to risk a heart attack or damage to body organs from high BP...anyone tried Respirate with success? It's a device (very expensive) that supposedly lowers BP without drugs. I'd pay it, to avoid medicine!

I just had my Mirena placed last week. I felt excited after the procedure. No more kids for at least 5 years? Now that I have read all of these post I am scared. I am 25, married with three children. I had the last baby nine months ago and don't want anymore, right now. The cramping stopped the same day. I took Midol the second day after for bloating and everything was fine. However, I woke up today feeling more tired than usual, irritated, moody, depressed, scared, sleepy. And I have spotting, cramping (both abdominal and lower back)and butterflies in my stomach. I thought that my body was just playing tricks on me and decided to look up possible Mirena side effects that I might have missed and happened upon this site. Now I am really scared. I am scheduled next week for my placement check-up and if these symptoms are not explained or gone I might just have it removed and go back to Trojan. :(
