Been on lisinopril for about a year for high bp. Seems to help. Don't have a cough and don't seem to be feeling weak or sluggish. Do have a burning sensation on the tip of my tongue and a couple of really sore bumps have come and gone on the last few weeks. Also, I am now developing may little red cherry like blood blisters on my body just about everywhere. I've had the dermatologist look at them and he called them some kind of skin cherry and nothing to worry about. I know they are somewhat genetic and my father has a few but I am getting hundreds of them and it has been within the last 6 months. I was told this medicine dialated the artery going into the kidneys to relieve pressure. Wonder if it is dialating capalaries in my skin causing these cherrys? Anybody else got 'em?

I stopped taking Lisinopril after a year of waiting for the side effects to lessen.
Started out with 20mg. and my bp was 90/58. I felt like I was going to pass out, had chest pains, no energy, shortness of breath, and had the feeling that my eyes had just been dialated. The eye thing happened twice while I was driving.
As per MD's orders I cut the pills in half to 10mg. Same symptoms. So, I qauartered that down to 2.5. I still felt somewhat less but still terrible.
Finally I stopped a month ago and am felling much, much better. Still not 100 percent.
Taking hydrocholithaizide and atenolol(not sure about those spellings) and my bp is 130/80. I'm ok with that even if the medical profession isn't.
As far as I'm concerned this poison should be taken off the market. It made my life miserable for year.

I was given Levaquin at the hospital for ttreatment of pneumonia. Inmediately after I had been administered the second intravenous dose I woke up from a nightmareish sleep with the room spinning and my pupils dialated. I was covered in a cold sweat and felt like I was going to fall unconscious. The nurse came in and put a fan on me and had me sit up. Although the hospital claims it probably did not have anything to do with the Levaquin, I know it did. Perhaps administered too quickly? Can anyone shed some light ?

I've been taking Neurontin for about 2 months (300mg 3x/day) to lessen the pain of occipital neuralgia.....the pain is still present, but not disabling. This is the only medication I am taking.
Side effects I've experienced are extreme fatigue the first couple weeks....then, tired often if I don't get enough sleep. Another thing I've experienced is weight gain and increased appetite - Big time!! All I want to do is eat.
I'm forgetful and miss doses often. If I skip two doses, the pain comes back full force and I'm in bed for a day.
wish you all the best.
Someone here mentioned one pupil was "unequal", which I found interesting: I had an eye exam a couple weeks ago for eye pain; it was noted that my left pupil was more dialated....this is a first for me. However, overall, my eyes are good...

My 6 1/2 year old son is in la-la land with this medication. After only one dose his pupils are dialated, he appears to feel uneasy and he seems to not be able to function. He has completely lost his appetite and only wants to remain still. It is as if he is hallucinating but he does not know how to describe the feeling. I will not give him a drop more. Very, very bad for children!

Have been taking for only 1 day (3 doses) and right before lunch, I started feeling like I had extremely low blood sugar. By the time I got downstairs and stood in line to get food, I felt shakier and shakier. As I rushed to sit down and eat something as fast as possible, my hands were shaking as if I had a nervous tick or Parkinson's.
After eating the shaking gradually subsided, however, I have been feeling weird pressure in my eyes as if my pupils are extremely dialated. And I am also feeling a little detatched from my surroundings and a little nervous.
I don't liike the way this medicine makes me feel at all! I am calling my doctor right away to switch meds.
This is scary stuff!!!! How long has this drug been out?! Thanks, FDA!

I gave this to my 4 year old daughter and I don't even know where to start. My daughter was pretty sluggish the first two days but I thought it was because she did not feel good. She started feeling a little bit better so I stopped the medication. My daughter is a totally different person. She is so hyper I can not settle her down she is jumping off furniture, and I talk to her and it is like she can not hear me. Her eyes are dialated and she acts like she can not stand herself or her skin. My uncle works for the ER and I called him he said that she is having withdraws from the medication. That it is a family to sudifed and everyone responds different. I would be very careful before you give your children or yourself this medication.

My three year old is stoned out of his head on this stuff. It has not effected his cough at all, but he now falls asleep or "passes out" without notice. His eyes are dialated, he is "spacey" and is having nightmares and when awake, what I think are hallucinations. He has trouble with motor skills- even the simple things. We have stopped using it now and after 24 hours he is started to become a little normal. VERY unsettling.

I took three doses of this medicine (as directed) over the period of a day. i started to feel light headed and got up to go to bed. I looked in the mirror and my pupils were dialated to almost the size of my irises. I laid down and everything started to tturn black. i elevated my feet but it didn't help. It felt like i had pins and needles being stuck all over me. All of my muscles tensed up at once and then whe ni was finally able to relax them i started shaking uncontrollably. I was so dizzy, I couldn't even stand up straight. I found out I am allergic to this medicine. there are no warnings on the label that this could happen. i think I may have been in shock. Be careful!!!

I've been suffering from insomnia for 4 years on and off (the off when I used cannabis/alcohol). I took ecstasy every weekend for about 19-20 months, that ended two and a half years ago. And since then i've also suffered depression. Anyway I've been pescribed effexor XL 75mg, the first night I took it I'd been to the local pub (or bar for the Americans) I had a couple of pints of larger and went home. About 2:00am I still wasnt asleep and I felt like I had taken ecstacy. I kept thinking that someone had spiked my drink with XTC, got about 1 hours sleep. My pupils were very dialated and I looked like I was on drugs (the illegal ones). But it turns out it was the Effexor. I'm on my second day with it and feel like i'm on a downer and my head kills, my teeth hurt, my stomach kills, and my eyes look very starnge. Is this normal should I stop or just grit my teeth and bare it (pun intended). There is alot of bad comments about this drug but there is good ones aswell. I start college in less than a week this will be my 4th attempt I only hope I can sleep properley by then.

I have been gradually been put on Effexor XR. 1st week 1x37.5mg for 7 days then 2x37.5 mg 7 days or 2nd week then 3x 37.5 for 7 days and now 4x 37.5 or 150 mg. I have noticed a decrease in appetite as a matter of fact I've lost 14 lbs. in a month. I did have vision problems at night when my eyes seemed very dialated. Daytime wasn't a problem. A little bit of yawning on the first day of increasing the dosage.
I sweat a lot, but it is summer and very humid here, so am not sure if this is a side effect. I have been suffering from deppression and GAD most of my life as well as severe PMS. This drug has increased my ability to think before I react, which is a miracle. I have been an emotional eater and am happy with the loss of my need to self medicate with food. I am sure they will gradually wean me off of this medicine as they gradually put me on it. I am also in therapy and I feel I am doing something good for myself. I feel much better than a month ago. They've said I will only be on this medication for one year.

I am 24 year old male. The doctor said I have fluid in my ears. About on day 4 of taking the Avelox pill, I had a horrible attack. My pupils dilated and my heart began to race. My parents convinced me I was just having a panic attack or anxiety attack WHICH I HAVE NEVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I cannot sleep I wake up feeling like I am in a nightmare. I am short of breath, I feel so absolutely horrible, I wish I stopped taking it sooner! I just finished my last pill, day 10. I find myself asking god to help me and I am not even religious. I pray that my heart and body start feeling normal again in a few days. I know tomorrow I will not feel better, I have been taking the pill at 7 pm every night for the past 10 days. So I know I am in for a few more hellish days and nights. Email me if you have any advice or if we can sue anyone for this.
