My son is on the 15mg patch. He is developing OCD type behaviors-right now it is an obsession with his fingernails-always picking at them, getting dirt out from underneath them, even when there is none. We have tried adderall and this. I think I am going to try something natural. Any suggestions? He also won't eat or drink all day so we need to go a different route.

I read these posts and regarding my being quoted as saying that it is unclear whether there are leukotriene receptors in the brain, that isn't true, there are leukotriene receptors in the brain and the relationship between neural systems involved in inflammation and mood is well established. I don't think the misquote was deliberate, I wasnt that definitive when I commented to the reporter on the 'breaking' story (she called me because I had just blogged about it and I updated the blog after I got off the phone). There are a number of parallels with other drugs used to treat medical conditions that have been associated with psychiatric side effects, you can follow the links from the March 27 post "If they dont kill us they will drive us crazy" at

Leg and foot cramps, insomnia, and who knows why my body aches all over and why my food intolerances are now much worse!
Perhaps all these new symptoms I have are from singular. It's been a year now - perhaps I am 'barking down the wrong road' - with this medication - it's a very difficult decision to make - to take or not to take - I like to breath! I want singular to be my miracle drug but I am going to have to go off for a while and see what happens to the symptoms above. Perhaps it's all food allergies after all..........

My 8 year old daughter started Lupron about six months ago due to precocious puberty. She started her period about eight months ago so we saw an Endocrinologist who told me there were NO SIDE EFFECTS. With the second shot, I noticed mood swings and tearfulness that I had never seen before. With the third shot, she had a rash for one day that was relieved by Benadryl. She no longer has mood swings and has not had a rash again but she has gained 8 pounds and I have noticed hair loss. The front of her hair is twice as long as the back. Her doctor has recommended that she stay on the shots until she is 11. Now that she is 9, I have decided to stop the shots and we will just have to deal with her having a cycle so young. It was a difficult decision for me to start her on the injections, but I made the decision believing that there were no side effects. This may be true in some patients, but it was not true for us. I just hope she can lose the weight and that the hair loss is not permanent.
