Have any men on this site experienced erectile dysfunction? I have been on Lisinopril 40mg for around 18 months and my BP is around 120/80 which is pretty good but the ED has come on quite suddenly and is alarming to say the least. I have the dry cough and throat tickle as well as having difficulties getting a full night of sleep but none of the other side effects mentioned. I am a healthy 55 year old male, not overweight and in good health, Lisinopril is the only medication I take.

I have been using this drug for about 8 months and have found some of the side effects can be horrible. However i am in the process of separation and im terrified to face this without them. I know i am rather numb and at times just unconnected because of the drug but without them i would be crying constantly and i hated that. I believe i have been depressed for some time and i know for me the benefits of this drug far out way the difficulties of depression! The crying, sleeplessness, inability to get anything accomplished depression sucks. For me i have not gained or lost i am about the same. My therapist tells me to go off them slowly once things settle down i am on 300 mg of them now of which i started on 75mg to start. So i will keep you updated to my progress with getting off them!

I have been using topomax 100mg daily for 6 months now. I started at that dose immediately, as I was having occular migraines on a daily basis. I experienced terrible side effects of memory lapses, tingling in my face and hands, & speech issues for about 6 weeks. It was about that time that I also realized carbonated beverages were tasting like liquid tin. I also have decreased appetite, and have lost 35 lbs. The side effects were awful in the beginning, but I was told they would subside after my body adjusted to the medication. So, I kept telling myself the effects were due to the medication, and would eventually go away, and they did. I have to admit, those 6 weeks were awful. My kids, hubby and I would joke, because Mom just had a "loopy" topomax moment. As of today, the only side effects are the liquid tin taste of carbonated beverages and loss of appetite, and I am now experiencing difficulties sleeping, which could be caused by something else. For me, the 6 weeks of feeling like I was losing my mind were worth going through, as I am continuing to lose some needed poundage, and most importantly, I am headache free!

my side effects : - Tingling hands and feet which are going away now, memory problems, word finding difficulties, speech problems, visual hallucinations. Mine ball of light flashing, red/orange colour lasting seconds, then also a white out line of doors or bjects or my body. ( even neurologist's are not aware of these visual problems and because they don't fit into the normal visual aura pattern they may think you are made. The drug company need to put out a visual hallucinatinatinations as a noted side effect. I'm taking Topamax 50mg twice a day for migraine for the last for months. It is only just now controling the migraine. I have lost 12lbs in weight.

HI, it's great to hear of other people having the same difficulties as I had on yasmin. I was on it for 12 months, and experienced low libido, mood swings like crazy and just felt like a different person (my husband did too!). it was great for my skin, but had to go off it to return to being a normal person. I've been off for over 12 months now, and am considering going back on a pill again, but am a bit nervous about experiencing more mood swings and depressive feelings. i just want to be nomal!

I have read all recent postings and I completely agree with all stated. I thought it was just me, but now I see others are having the same difficulties as I have been. This has helped me to make the decision to lay off of these drugs and start taking fish oil capsules to see if my health benefits. I got the idea of fish oil from my mother just yesterday, after she read about the benefits of it in a doctor's column in her newspaper. Worth a try I think.....thanks for all of your input!

My 2 1/2 year old has been taking Singulair for several months for seasonal allergies and asthma. It has been effective in handling the symptoms of these problems. However, I have noticed a change in his behavior with increased anxiety, difficulty sleeping, irritability, and separation difficulties. As a psychologist, I am aware that some of these behaviors are developmentally appropriate for 2 year olds but my concerns extend outside traditional reasons for his behavior. Another psychologist suggested I review this site and I now feel justified regarding my concerns. Of course, I called his doctor after reading all of these replies and they were "unaware" of anxiety as a side effect of Singulair.

I also experienced difficulties with Yasmin. Immediately after I began taking it, my blood pressure shot up to a dangerous level. I have always had low blood pressure. I immediately stopped taking the Yasmin, but my doctor (a very good doctor, by the way) told me it couldn't be the Yasmin (although there was nothing else to blame it on). My blood pressure returned to normal, and since the doctor didn't think Yasmin caused my problem, I gave it another shot. I ended up in the doctor's office within a few days, with a heavy chest, having trouble breathing. Again, there was nothing else to blame it on. I don't have the doctor convinced that Yasmin is a problem, but I will never try it again! My problems were just too "coincidental" with my taking Yasmin.

Having had difficulties with birth control pills in the past, I was so excited to discover Yasmin. I had no breast tenderness, nausea or weight gain as I had with all the others. However, my excitement soon turned into horror...literally. I began experiencing shortness of breath, hot flashes, shakes and anxiety attacks. I had difficulty concentrating and remembering things. It never occurred to me it was Yasmin so I contacted a psychiatrist instead of my ob/gyn. As I was waiting for him to return my call, I discovered this web site and realized I'm not crazy! I told him about the posts concerning Yasmin and anxiety. He had never heard of the connection but was glad to be advised (as I was). I am now off Yasmin and feel better already! Thank God for sites like this.
