Hello all!
I am so happy I found this site and so is my husband. I'm 44 and was suffering with all that "pre pre menopausal" period. I had my tubes tied when I was 30. After an ultrasound showed very small section of overlie left. My doctor decided to put me on birth control pills (I'm a smoker) on once a day everyday cycle. My menses stopped and some things got better and some worse. After a year, my doctor then felt this iud would help everything. He found out yesterday that this morning he was taking this thing out of me or else. (9 hard months)
I had my iud removed this morning, so I'm only 2 hours out.
Sept 2007 I scheduled for insertion. Since my doctor told me it was 5 minutes in the office, I went on my lunch hour. I never made it back to work. This was on a Friday, so I had the rest of the weekend to rest. This 5 minute insertion hurt more than dilation pain in child birth. I actually cried out! The "measuring" portion felt like my dr poked a hole in me. Sharp hot pain. Then the device, when he said it would "cramp" for a bit, but it actually felt like he was trying to shove it into my left tube or wall but a too small place with painful pressure and a hard pinch. I asked if it had sharp edges. It felt hot, like a hot pin. After I cried out, he said ok ok it's in, Thats it.
I had tears in my eyes it was that painful. I was totally not prepared for there to be this much pain. My doctor told me that I might be a little crampy but that would be it. What I actually felt was so much burning stomach pain where it was hanging on to me with what felt like claw like hands. I could not stand totally straight up or I would get a fast, sharp, hard pain in the left side on my stomach where all the pain I felt at insertion. This lasted everyday for 2 months then happened less and less until now a few times a month. Mostly when I over do it by stretching, exercise and vigorous sex. I always have to slouch a bit or I get those pains now.
I get cramps on and off and it would usually follow a cycle, but I was not mensing at all. Only spotted a few times. The other side effects were making me crazy and my family worried and upset. Mood swings are horrible. They can be quick and fast abnd very dark, mad and angry. I would never have acted this way before insertion.
I get depressed on and off, mostly on, in most often 3 week cycles. Crazy super anxiety over the smallest thing. I have gained weight, feel totally fed up with my appearance. I feel suspicious of everything (my husband keeps saying I'm paranoid about everything and everyone, I didn't see that of course). My mind constantly races and have found myself confused, or forgetful. The worse moment when I was filling out a form and couldn't remember how to write my last name and spell it. I could see it but not write it down, I was unable to spell it out loud for too long not to really scare me into thinking what the heck was going on. I have had almost every side effect everyone has posted except the acne. I see more pimples now and ones sort of under the skin, but not often enough to see a dr about and nausea I haven't a problem with yet.
I will list the rest but there are more if I think about it I have. Now I want to see how long it takes for them to go away.
, Headaches and/or migraines everyday, constant stomach and vagina issues including: aches, full feeling, and sharp shooting hot pains, terrible moods that can come on instantly, feeling depressed, angry and mean, weight gain, fast graying hair, some hair loss, bloated breast that feel real full all the time, breast tenderness and sharp sudden pains, numbness at times in arms and hands, chest pain, anxiety, paranoia, racing thought, some slurred speech on occasion, confusion, memory loss, leg pains and aches, low libido, painful sex, painful orgasm.
I hope someone steps in and has this product taken off the market!

I have been on the Lisinopril w/ HCTZ for approximately 2 weeks now. I had been on Toprol XL 50 mg for months with no decrease in my BP. I do notice a slight sleepiness and the first two days of taking the Lisinopril I had quite a flushing reaction due to the arterial dilation. Since day 2 my BP has been lowering and I am experiencing no side effects that I am aware of. My BP has reached normal levels, I keep my fluid intake up but I honestly am thrilled with how much better I feel. I hope this continues, but I really would like to be able to wean off the drug in the next several months with good weight and fitness management. What I've read here is a bit scary for sure. I read very little of the side effects mentioned here in any of the pharmacological literature.

My arms and the palms of both hands became bright orange for about 1/2 hour after taking one drop in each eye. A few weeks later, upon dilation of my left eye, there were abrasions which may or may not have been the result of the drops.

I was wondering if anyone has heard about Dilantin having sexual side effects. Because of the Dilantin I started taking Depo-Provera for my birth control, and I don't know which one could be affecting my sex drive. I have since stopped the Depo but am still waiting for my sex drive to return.

-Cataracts-Iwas 41 and taken Seroquel 3 yrs-at the time of beginning I had an eye check (just was time, nothing to do with starting S) and all was fine. 3 Yrs later my eye doc was surprised to see I had developed cataracts which is not common in younger person. They do not run in family. I will never know for sure, but seems to me it would take a long time for the connection to be made. How many people have taken it and not had eye exam? They may get cataracts, and not make connection. I have found 2 other women online with same thing. It also caused them in dogs. Tolerated it well otherwise, but discontinued. I would urge anyone who has taken it for a length of time to get full dilation eye exam. I had implants now and many problems. If anyone has had this happen please let me know. Linda

Although this was in 1997, I experienced redness and swelling of limbs, itchiness, dilation of veins in limbs and eyes

-- By j_lee | Reply | (2) replies | Private Message meI have a seven year old boy and a four year old girl that have both been on singulair for a couple of years. The first year their allergies weren't that bad, so i didn't really make sure that they took it daily...the past year, allergies have been worse, so i was making sure that they took it daily and that they didn't miss a dose. My son was in 1st grade last year and by the end of fall, he was going to the nurses office daily for headaches and stomachs. Where his drawings used to be of flowers and all of us as a family, they started being of monsters. We also noticed that his pupils were dilated more than normal (you could barely see any of the colored part of his eyes) and took him to an eye doctor just to find out that his eyes were fine and there was no medical reason for the dilation. I also asked the doctor and the school to test for ADD/ADHD, with them saying that he didn't have it..At night, both my son and daughter started waking up for no apparent reason (they had both slept through the night since they were about 1) and being very scared for no reason. The mood changes have been more noticeable in my son, but like most, i chalked it up to "a phase" and just part of being a boy....my daughter got clingier and moodier, but i know how it is to be a girl, so i just took it with a grain of salt. My kids have not been on Singulair for approx. a week now, and my son is back to the boy i knew....skipping through the house and yard, catching bugs to just look at them and not pull them apart and kill them, sleeping through the night, no trips to the nurses, and eyes that seem to be normal again...my daughter is actually a pleasant little girl that can't wait til she see's her brother instead of pinching, hitting, and trying to hurt her brother........Long story short, since they've been off of singulair, i have my kids back. my son had circles under his eyes at times and a runny nose at times and we have to find something to help my daughters allergies (she gets eczema and is borderline asthmatic) but we will deal with that and find something that works without harming them.....
Thanks again.
