I've also had so many problems that I never realized until recently were related to Yasmin. I'm so angry at myself for not realizing sooner. I started taking Yasmin about 3 years ago because I was on Ortho Cyclen for a long time and stupidly thought maybe I'd try something new. Ortho was great, the only reason I switched is because I like to run my packs together and skip periods and I was starting to have breaththrough with the Ortho. BIG MISTAKE. I've had nothing but issues since, and I consider myself a stable, normally functioning woman. Since staring Yasmin 3 years ago, my libido has completely dried up. In fact I can barely let my sweet hubby touch me, let alone initiate it. We're starting to argue constantly because things irritate me that never did before. I've had mini anxiety and panic attack symptoms, blurry vision, foggy head feelings, and weird inner ear pain with occasional ringing I never had before. The worst part is, shortly after starting this terrible drug I developed IBS when I'd never had it before. Now I literally run for the potty after every meal. I cannot even lead a normal life anymore. I've struggled off and on with depressive type feelings, but for the most part have been able to muster through. Some days I am just so fricking tired though I can barely get out of bed. Oddly enough, I also get very hungover from even small amounts of alcohol....(also unusual for me)

More recently I have developed increasing chest tightness and palpitations. I am only 33 and have been checked out and they say nothing is wrong, except for my BP which always used to be very low, and has risen steadily over the last 3 years. I have also experienced significant bloating to the point most of my clothing no longer fits, despite the fact that I eat little given the IBS. My thyroid has been tested and is fine.

Finally, my hair has gone from great spirally curls that I loved to limp, weird half staright, half frizzy. I've never had this ever before. You literally could see this happen over the last few years as new hair grew in, it pushed the curls out and left this behind. I actually blamed my hairdressers and went from salon to salon before I put it all togehter!

I stopped Yasmin 2 days ago as I have had enough. I want to take something though so I started Seasonale, but this will be it. I'm giving it 6 months and if things aren't better I'm done with hormonal BC. I think with so many women who have had serious problems on this pill, you'd think they would listen. My GYN said no way it could be the Yasmin causing the IBS, but Yasmin does increase serotonin levels and the number one side effect of serotonin is diarrhea...so I think it is the cause!!

I am 26 yrs old and I have been on Nuvaring for about 3-3 1/2 years. I thought this was the greatest thing not having to remember the pill and the short light periods. I have always sworn by this BC! I have been having side effects I never thought came from the ring until now. I have read a lot of the side effects others are having and I think my lack of sexual desire for the past 1 1/2 yrs. MAY be due to Nuvaring and not my getting married 2 yrs. ago. (lol) I also have headaches often, not bad ones but enough to carry Tylenol in my purse. And another is dryness before intercourse, that I never had a problem with 2 yrs. ago. I never put two and two together until I racked my brain and wondered why I struggled so badly with my lack of sexual desire. I could care less if I have sex or not! That just wasn't me 2 yrs ago! I just couldn't figure out what had changed, going back on any medicines I had taken the past 2 yrs., the Nuvaring is the only thing that was constant. I have a Dr. Appt today and I am going to discontinue use of the ring and see if the side effects subside like they have for some others. I will post again when I have an update. Please let me know if anyone else is having the side effects more than a year after using the Nuvaring!! Thanks!

My father 64 years old has been on Lipitor for over 2 years. In the past few months he has been very quiet, finding it hard to talk and he knows what he wants to say but some words are hard to say. Severe fatique, he moves much slower, difficulty reading and to understand what he's reading. Finds it hard to write and draw and when he is sleeping he has awful twitching. Is this because of Lipitor? we are waiting for an MRI and EEG the doctor seems to feel it might be dementia or Alzheimer's and maybe so but that all doesn't add up.
Does anyone else feel like this?
Is there hope, we have taken him off Lipitor 2 days ago.
Does anyone have a good result to hear?
How do check to see if Lipitor is the problem where does that show up?

My husband has had a nagging cough with a little mucus. The doctor took him off of Lisinopril for this reason and the cough has dissapeared.

I am horrified to read what awful side effects some kids have had from Singulair. My 4 year old is on Singulair since December 2006 (slightly persistent asthma - cough after exercise).
My observations are - child is hyperactive. For the first month it was fine, but now for the last month his behavior is not as usual. He is active biy but not hyperactive!!! I took him off for 5 days and things went back to normal. However, I should admit his cough has dissapeared.... don' t know what to think, will be talking to doctor.

Dear parents. My daughter is 3 and has been on Singulair for almost three months now. She is very irritable, very nervous, doesn´t sleep well, and not happy and smily child as usual. For the first two/three weeks in treatment she complained of headaches mainly and stomachache, but they dissapeared later. Nevertheless her behaviour is getting worse and worse, and it is not normal. I have printed some comments to show our pediatrician and we are stopping the treatment with Singulair.

6yo has been on Singulair and Nasonex for 2 years
I have kept him off his meds in mid Winter and Summer each time I restart him he has trouble with Bedwetting we thought it was just a phase until I recently restarted singulair only about a week ago he has wet the bed almost every night since. Last year when he was having trouble with bedwetting I started a log looking back now all of the accidents started shortly after restarting his singulair. After reading this board I have now connected a rash as well that has dissapeared after taking him off the meds and also can attribute aggressive behavior.

Thank you ladies for your helpful comments about Yasmin! I have been on this for about 3 to 4 years and recently decided that I didn't need birth control as "NOT IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS" was very effective. I have now been off for 4 weeks and cannot believe the changes so far - I really didn't realise before what "Yasmin symptons" I had:

Tender breasts - they now feel great
Better circulation - I do not feel the cold as badly now
Night sweats - dissappeared
Insomnia - dissapeared. I now have a really good nights sleep. Happy days.
Bad wind - dissappeared
Diuretic effects - I could not believe how urgent I needed to go within 1 to 2 hours of taking a pill. Again this has now gone which makes long journies in the morning less stressful!
Blurred vision - much better
Panic attacks/chest pains/mood swings - hopefully these are starting to calm down. I certainly feel a lot more relaxed about life in general rather than having the "I cannot cope feelings"

I cannot believe how Yasmin has controlled my life for so long.

Thanks again ladies for your comments as they convinced me that I wasn't going mad - just being chemically controlled!

Good luck to you all

Jud

PS My doctor didn't sound at all convinced when I told her I was coming off it!

I am a Rheumatologist at private practice in PR. I was consulted on a patient who is recently diagnosed as pneumonitis, biopsy report is compatible with pneumonitis and refers it could be hypersensitivity pneumonitis or collagen disease. The patient refers that after she started singulair she noticed swelling of hands and general malaise that dissapeared when she D/C it. This happened by the same time as the pneumonitis. Has pneumonitis been reported with Singulair?

I am a 25 year old man who was diagnosed with ADD about a year ago. My Doc put me on adderall xr 10 mg one per day. We then upped to 20 mg, and then 30 mg. I must say the drug is wonderful! I only wish I was diagnosed and put on this when I was a kid. I never could concentrate or finish anything in school. I would hear words from people and teachers but they just did not register. I would drift from thought to thought but still hear the words. I truely belive that ADD has been a huge factor in me never finishing school and also loosing a long term relationship. In the relationship I had same thing. I would hear her speak, and want to listen but something literally would not let me!!! So, to her, i just was "Not wanting to listen". We broke up over it! Two years later I told my doctor about my concentration problems. Since being placed on Adderall this has disappeared. I can totally listen and concentrate. My life has totally been improved. I have been promoted twice at my job now since being diagnosed. The only side affects i have experienced so far is for the first 2 days a headache and yes i was restless. Its IS an amphetamine. That dissapeared in two to three days. Also, dry mouth is a problem. To me the benefits totally out weigh the side effects. To the parents of younger children or teens, this drug is widely abused. Please keep it away from them and only administer it to them by recommended dosage. I feel most of the negative comments on this drug are from the EFFECTS OF ABUSE!

after three months of no side effects I suddenly began to feel my skin crawl, could not sit still, began shaking my foot, pacing, slight rocking, impatient attitude. I found out this was called "akathisia" . I began to smoke pot to calm me down as I was not able to contact my docter and that helped the growing depression and anxiety about the way my body was all of a sudden reacting. after 1 1/2 weeks it went away. I had decreased the amount I was taking from 60 mg day to 40 mg. maybe that's why it went away. the nervousness has dissapeared but now I am depressed and am going to ride it out because overall-geodone has been good. if it happens again I will ask my docter for something like valium .

I was prescribed Levaquin 500mg for 7 days to treat my sore throat. After taking the second pill , I felt dizzy, my heart- beat increased significantly, I perspired profusely, my mouth and throat were very dry and my urine output was noticebly reduced. I was unable to stand for over one hour.
The following day I took the third pill and exactly the same thing happened.
I have stopped taking the Levaquin and the symptoms have dissapeared.
Hope there was no permanent damage.
