I was on Yaz for about 5 months...first 4 months seemed great...In fact I didn't have a period at all and my acne disappeared! But, I was feeling fancy...irrabtible..but, didn't think too much about it until the 5th month on the pill..all of a sudden I had extreme panic attacks, went to the ER and everything...and my blood pressure was very high. I felt so crazy and scared like there was something really wrong with me..I thought i was going crazy! i have been off of the Yaz (stopped in the middle of the pack) for 3 days now and feel so much better...it was very scary.

I started taking Yasmin 2 years ago, and after about the first 2-3 months of taking Yasmin, I started experiencing horrendous pains after sex. Once my doctor figured out what was going on, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. Not long after that, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Now I am more than likely unable to have children, and am at risk for cervical cancer, cardiovascular disease, and Diabetes.
If anyone else has recently been diagnosed with Endometriosis, or PCOS after taking Yasmin....PLEASE reply or contact me!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been on Singulair for a little over a month now and my allergies and asthma are under control; however, I have a list of side effects that are a mile long. I have swollen, bleeding gums, bad nightmares, weight gain, severe bruising, hearing things that aren't there, severe fatigue, confusion, can't seem to remember anything, dizziness, sore muscles, change is stool color, joints have swollen and sore, sexual desire gone, headaches, ears ring. I have stopped today and have called my doctor about the bruising. It's a shame because my allergies and asthma have almost completely dissappeared.

Hi Everyone,
I have been taking Topamax 25 mg for 1 week. I can't stand it. Today I am to up my dosage to 50 mg.I am not sure if I want to do that. The side effects suck.. I think I would rather just deal with my migraines, at least I know how to do that since I have had them for over 25 years. I have tried everything and nothing has worked so the Dr. and I thought we would give this a try.
I am trying to keep my place of employment happy with trying to cut down on the migraines but nothing works.
Most days I just want to give up.
Hopefully we will be able to figure something out.

I can't stand the pickhands and feet, the stumbling like I am drunk( and I dont' drink) nothing tastes right anymore, I have the shakes and I ache.
And all it does is makes me sleepy and like I am in another world.
I went to work today and made it half an hour before I came home because I stumbled and almost fell over. And when the boss talked to me it was like I wasn't there. So I came home. I don't know but I don't like it at all.

Hello Ladies,

I began taking Yasmin about 2 weeks ago. I've taken Ortho Tri Cyclene and Ortho Lo before and have never had any problems, but I went off the pill for about 2 years and my Gyno said that this would be a good pill for someone going back on birth control. I thought that my side effects were just my body getting used to the pill again.

I started the pill pack on the first day of my period, and my period dissappeared in a day. I continued taking the pills and every day since I've been getting these cramps in my lower stomache (I can only describe them as similar to menstrual cramps- and I often feel nauseous), my back has been killing me, and I've been noticing more and more breakthough bleeding every day. It's almost like I've had a light period for 2 weeks. I've started to consider taking a pregnancy test but I don't know if these would be the side effects to taking the pill when you're pregnant, and I really don't think I am-- I think I'm going crazy.

I'm going on vacation in 2 days and I'm going to see if I can get an appointment with my doc to change the pill, because I'm not going to quit and get my period and I can't keep taking this horrible pill.

If anyone has any new advice, please let me know!!

i started taking adderall almost 2 years ago. i didn't have any medical problems, for some stupid reason, out of curiosity i guess, i decided to take one of my daughters pills to see what they do. i know how i was before that night. 225 pounds, slept all day, never wanted to do anything, not even my hair, depressed, and never any energy.

that night, with only half of her dose, i think i got more done than i have in 5 years, but not just that, i was happy!! the feeling of crying for no reason magically dissappeared. after years and years of trying every single anti-depressants out there, it was sitting here in my medicine cabinet all along. i talked to our family doctor and asked him to prescribe me too, that it helped me get things done and i feel happy for once. so he did.

that was august of 2004, it is now feb 2006, not even 2 years later and i have a lot to be thankful for, but i have paid alot of prices

by the end of the first year of my prescription, i have lost 95 pounds. woohoo, but not in a good way, i think i lost the majority of it within the first 6 months, people and my family thought i was on crack, by august of last year i became vitamin A deficiant, i have acne so bad, and they don't heal because of the vitamin deficancy, and the ones that did, left the worst huge red scars and lumps. but the major side effect was this january i had to have my gall bladder out because of gall stones which is related to the medication side effects

i have been to court 3 times this year for not paying bills, because i get so into other things that i can't tear myself away from them

i sleep about 3-5 hours a day, by friday i am exhausted that i just don't want to do anything with my family

but the truth is that after all of this, i do't think i would change a thing. just for the fact i'm not a big fat slob anymore, i don't lay in bed all day and eat box after box of twinkies

i don't think i will ever give it up unless i definatly have to just for the fact, on the days that i run out and don't have the money to get my script refilled, i see how i really am, and i never want to feel like that again

in certain ways this was my miracle drug, it was a cure for alot of my problems, i guess my suggestion to anyone out there, is to make yourself aware of what is changing within yourself

Thank you ladies for your helpful comments about Yasmin! I have been on this for about 3 to 4 years and recently decided that I didn't need birth control as "NOT IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS" was very effective. I have now been off for 4 weeks and cannot believe the changes so far - I really didn't realise before what "Yasmin symptons" I had:

Tender breasts - they now feel great
Better circulation - I do not feel the cold as badly now
Night sweats - dissappeared
Insomnia - dissapeared. I now have a really good nights sleep. Happy days.
Bad wind - dissappeared
Diuretic effects - I could not believe how urgent I needed to go within 1 to 2 hours of taking a pill. Again this has now gone which makes long journies in the morning less stressful!
Blurred vision - much better
Panic attacks/chest pains/mood swings - hopefully these are starting to calm down. I certainly feel a lot more relaxed about life in general rather than having the "I cannot cope feelings"

I cannot believe how Yasmin has controlled my life for so long.

Thanks again ladies for your comments as they convinced me that I wasn't going mad - just being chemically controlled!

Good luck to you all

Jud

PS My doctor didn't sound at all convinced when I told her I was coming off it!

Gwen
My boobs also grew a cup size possibly more, I have now been of the pill for 5 months and unfortunately they have dissappeared again, its not done them much good with growing bigger and now shrinking though, its quite depressing.
Stay of Yasmin, we can put things in our bras, we go through hell and back to get rid of these horrible side effects, its not worth it.

Joanne.

I used to take Yasmin for about two years. I've been off Yasmin for about 6 weeks now. I'm still waiting for all the horrible side effects to go away...I hope this BCP didn't cause any permanent damage; I just wish my daily migraines and mood swings would go away!

One good thing about Yasmin, however, is that it gets rid of cramps. I used to have severe cramps every month to where I'd pass out. After taking Yasmin for about 7 months, the cramps dissappeared. Unfortuneately, I started my period a few days ago and the cramps were back and as bad as ever :(
