Major depression, enlarged breasts, sick to my stomach, acne, loss of appetite, fatigue...the depression has lead to suicidal thoughts. I am very disturbed by this. It is also difficult to be in a crowd of people. I have become super emotional on this and can't stand myself. I'm off of it today!

September 15, I first started taking Toprol XL 50 mg for an irregular heart
2007 beat. That was about 2.5 years ago. It didn't help me at
1:27 PM first so my Dr. upped it to 100mg. It helped for about a
year and a half before I began having diarrhea and loose bowels for over a year now. My doctor didn't seem too concerned about
that. At the same time I was taking 1500mg of Niacin a day. I thought
the loose bowels came from too much Niacin, so I asked the Dr. to take
me off that. That did not help me at all. I am seeiing my Dr. next week
I do hope I can get off of Toprol. I have other side effects as well, enlarged thyroid, dizziness, short term memory, depressed, sleepy. But I do mow the lawn without any fatigue. I am tired of the diarrhea every day 2 to 3 times a day. Thanks to everyone who has posted their side effects/ It helps to know others are having the same side effects I am with Toprol.

Hi, I've been on Femcon FE for 2 weeks and have experienced very tender nipples as well as my sleep pattern has definitely been disturbed - I'm waking up more frequently and find it more difficult to get to sleep. I wonder if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms. Oh and a definitely feel a bit more 'blue' but wasn't sure if this may be related as well!

My daughter has been on singulair for about a year now and she just turned 3. I discovered in about January that all through the night she would make weird noises with her mouth because her mouth is so dry. Then came the disturbed sleep. For the last two months she would wake up in the morning crying because her legs would hurt so bad. She wanted me to carry her everywhere. She could never keep up the other kids because she was physically exhausted. Then came the tantrums and crying. She just started biting, hiting and being mean to anyone around her. She also started not being able to remember her numbers and colors. I took her off of it a week and a half ago. The last three days her mood has improved and her memory seems better. The only thing that has not improved is her dry mouth. Hopefully that will improve with time.

I was prescribed Levaquin for what appeared to be impetigo on my outer ear. The first dose gave me a monster headache and very weird almost-dreams (because I couldn't sleep). After the second dose, I had a horrible stabbing pain in the middle of my back, my wrists and upper arms began to ache, my vision was disturbed and I couldn't concentrate. Weirdest of all was a sudden compulsion to shave my head (which I thankfully snapped out of). I'm a textbook normal 45 year old woman, otherwise healthy, and professionally employed. It's been 30 hourse since my last dose, and the mental stuff has subsided, but my arms and hands are still very painful. This is a bad bad drug. I'd have to be on the verge of death to consider it again.

My 7 year old son was just diagnosed with OCD and has been prescribed Prozac. I am not happy about this at all. I have had him on Prozac for one week now and thought I would check the internet on the effects of Prozac and Singulair on kids and was shocked to find out all of his current problems may be a result of the Singulair. I am taking him off of it effective today! This is after about 3+ years of being on Singulair. I am very disturbed at what I am reading about Singulair and the fact that it may be responsible for all of the terrible problems that he has been experiencing. He is beautiful, smart little boy that has been experiencing terrible thoughts and feelings lately to the point where he has told me that he wishes he was dead. I feel so bad that I did not check sooner. He is off Singulair today. I am notifying his pediatrician and hope this will result in a much happier little boy. I will write with results in a couple of months.

I take metoprolol to control a ventricular tachycardia (50mg 2x/day). I feel extremely fatigued, diarreah, abdominal pain, disturbed sleep, racing heart. I have been on it for nearly a year but my dose was doubled from 50 to 100 last month. The side effects seem to have gotten worse in the last 2 weeks. Does anyone know if it builds up in the system? and how long it takes to reach "therapeutic levels"?

Sorry, who does these weird posts?

As someone a few days ago felt disturbed by our "personal chats" here, I feel, that THIS now is more disturbing, because it doesn't show personal experiences but only any copies out of the internet, written by whoever.

I think it would be enough to post the links to the sites where women can find those reports. It's gotten very difficult to search for the posts of women who perhaps are really in need of an advice of someone between all that "leaflet"-stuff.

No harm intended, but I think this had to be accosted...

We have a 2 1/2 year old who is on Singulair for mild allergies. He is a spirited child but has ALWAYS been a GREAT sleeper and very sweet. We started seeing very very intense fits, agressivness in his behavior and decided the terrible twos had set in. Now his sleep has become very disturbed. He will not go down at night.. generally awake in bed for up to 2 hours (used to ask to go night night). And he wakes up screaming, crying or moaning every night sometimes more than once. We just thought night terrors is a stage at this age. And now he requires a light on, which we thought was a stage also. We started putting two and two together and noticed the timing of all events was when he was prescribed Singulair. I got online immediately and WAS SHOCKED by what I have read and startled at the similarties in problems described by moms. We took him off the meds last night and are hoping for great changes and to have our happy sleeper back soon. If this is what has caused our child all of this stress and sadness I will be angered beyond belief, have we been poisoning our own child with his meds..I hope the doctors are smarter than this. It appears we are ultimately in charge of our own care. WILL UPDATE THIS WEEK.

I am shocked by what I am reading. I have been on lisinopril for a year and have been having terrible heavy chest with difficulty breathing, a weird pain in the left side of my neck that comes and goes (kind of a restricting feeling) and other things like dizziness, fatigue, panic attacks, disturbed sleep. I am getting healthy by diet (vegan - see the books by Dr. Dean Ornish who helps you get rid of heart trouble and high blood pressure through a vegan diet) and excercise. I am going to get off this medication. I am scared to death now. I did not know why I was having these troubles but now I read all these posts and other people are having same trouble.

BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS CAUSED BY SINGULAIR.

Our 7-year old daughter has been taking Zyrtec, as needed, for her allergies since the spring of 2005 without side effects. That summer, our allergist recommended she add Singulair. She took it for a short while w/o noticible side effects that we can remember. This spring our doctor prescribed it for her again, along with Zyrtec. We gave her the medicine regularly, not expecting side effects as she has done well with other medicines.

Normally, our daugher is a very happy child. Friends often comment on her ready smile and good disposition. This spring, however, she exhibited uncontrollable anger spells about very small things. She would become upset about something small, and then her anger would build, causing a temper tantrum which lasted hours. As parents, we were very concerned and disturbed by her behavior. We were about to seek professional counseling because we tried many different ways to help her without success. Around this time (late spring), a friend told me about a child she knew who experienced behavior problems while taking Singulair. My husband did a quick Internet search, finding many other similar personal testimonies. As a test, we immediately took her off the medicine, especially because we weren't convinced that it helped with her allergies anyway. After a few weeks passed, our daughter's behavior changed dramatically. She has not had one temper tantrum in three months! My husband and I felt like we got our happy, little girl back! We are absolutley convinced that Singulair caused her behavior problems. If your child or you are taking Singulair and feeling/behaving abnormal, please consider finding an alternative medication. I am sure Singulair doesn't affect all people in this way, but Merck needs to recognize this side effect! Today, I tried to inform them by email about our problems, but their website referred me to my physician (who already knows). Why don't they want direct feedback from their consumers???

I am taking yasmin for a week or so now, and I have not had a full night's sleep, I keep waking in the middle of the night, sometimes to pee and sometimes just waking. Overall in comparison to the other pills I have taken, it is great, I have a lot less bloating etc., but my sleep is disturbed and I'm wondering is it due to the pill or something else. please post message if you are experiencing this!

I posted below about my 3yo daughter & I wonder about reporting it further also. I am still so disturbed about her change in behavior & her physical pain at the time. We are now weeks away from her last dose & she is her 'regular ol' pinchy self...nothing like as mean & nasty as she was on singulair. I would hope if anyone knows how to get the word out further on the danger of this med please post it.

Hi I'm a 35 year old living in London, UK. I started to take Yasmin approximately 6 months ago. These are the changes I've noticed:

- tiredness
- headaches - the type that you go to bed with and wake up with
- hot flushes
- increased appetite
- acid reflux
- disturbed sleep

I hate this pill and I'm being tested at the moment to determine whether it's Yasmin causing these problem, but I KNOW its Yasmin.

I've been on Zoloft for three weeks now. I'm taking 50mg per day.

Mainly sexual side effects. It takes much effort to become
erect and I've had one orgasm in two weeks and it was a struggle and not enjoyable.

In the beginning, I had headaches, fogginess, tininitus, and overactive sexually for a week which disturbed me. I was unable to concentrate at work. I also sweated off and on for a couple of days and then felt feverish with chills. After a week, all of those side effects went away and now it is just the sexual side effects. I am supposed to see the doctor next week.

The positive note is that Zoloft has done wonders for me already. I feel great. I sleep through the night, wake up in the mornings ready for the day... and my mind usually races through several thoughts at once. I'm able to concentrate now.

I have been on zocor, mevacor, and lipitor for five years or so. After I complained to my new doctor that I was experiencing killer fatigue, calf pains, muscle loss, and tinnitus, among other things, he put me on zetia and coreg and CQ-10. My status has improved much, and I am now laying off the zetia and coreg for a couple of weeks.
I am most disturbed by accounts from individuals who have quit lipitor but have gotten no relief from the symptoms most commonly attributed to lipitor.

I was put on an inhaler called Servent, I guess it is the British equivalent to Advair, contains salmeterol xinafoate.
I have been on it for only two weeks and I have noticed so many of the things you all have. I don't think I have had more than 4 hours sleep a night since I started taking it, and that has been disturbed. Emotionaly I am a wreck, up and down, no control over my feelings, I thought I was going insane. I also have a stinging tongue all the time, can't stop shaking and my voice, which used produce some nice dulcet tones even if I do say so myself, sounds awful now.
Having said all of this, I am so glad I am not alone, at that there is a possible reason for it all.
Did you all just stop yourself or talk to your doctor first?
Thank you all again.

Am 53 yo and was diagnosed with high cholesterol of 410 when I was 27 yo back in 1967 and have tried every cholesterol lowering drug recommended by my doctors including Zocor. Zocor gave me muscle pains, mental fuzziness, disturbed sleep. So I stopped taking the drug 2 months later. I stopped worrying about cholesterol several years ago, after reading the research done by Swedish doctor Uffe Ravnskov in his book "The Cholesterol Myths" (see www.ravnskov.nu )and also visiting the website of German doctor Matthias Rath ( See www.drrath.com ) These doctors are brilliant and you should read their works. When you look at the research on cholesterol done by these world leading doctors, you realise elevated cholesterol is not a big deal. l had a CT Scan done recently and they cant find any cholesterol deposits in my arteries. I dont take any medication these days. Yet every time I visit my family doctor, I get a earfull on the dangers of high cholesterol, and the hype about statins. As a successful businessman, I have learned to listen to people and act only on good advice. Sadly, the average doctor has little understanding of cholesterol and so I ignore their advice. Hope this helps.

I took my third dose of Levaquin (for bronchitis) just before finding this site during insomnia. I woke up with my heart pounding, sweating all over, in nearly a panic attack. I calmed down while playing a handheld game (keep the concentration away from the symptoms to ease anxiety) and noticed my vision greying a couple times, but attributed it to being tired at the time.

I've been experiencing tightness in the neck and non-bronchial-related difficulty breathing since my first dose, but I did not attribute this to Levaquin at the time.

I've only taken three doses and am disturbed by what I've found in this list of messages, especially since some of the effects seem to be permanent! What should I do now to help prevent symptoms from recurring?

I have been taking Yasmin for only one week, and have been sick ever since the second day. I started taking the pill last week. I had a baby in May, and the doctor decided this would be a good start for birth control. I have never taken BCP's before and if this is what they do to you, I never will take them again. I have had achy bones and joints, massive headaches, constant pain in my chest and back, and today, I broke out in a fit of acne that is obscene. I look like I have the chicken pox. I am totally disturbed by this. Has anyone had side effects like this in such a short time of taking these pills? I am stopping them today!!!
