I'm 54, started taking lisinopril in jan 09. I took for about 3 months and noticed a decrease in libido. My pressure was pretty much in control, so I stopped taking it. I started again around 1st of Aug 09. Approx 3-4 weeks later, I began to experience severe pain in my left shoulder and arm. It began to move into my neck and back. I went in for an EKG to ensure I wasn't having a stroke. It was normal. I experience dizziness and headaches. I wake in the night and my 2 left fingers on the left hand are completely numb. The pain in my neck is now moving to the right side and some shoulder pain seems to be apparent. I noticed pain in other joints as well. I'm unable to work out at the gym as I usually do due to the pain my my left arm. I highly suspect these symptoms to be caused by lisinopril. I've been taking 20mg and was just switched to 20 mgm Hct. a week ago. X-Rays were taken of my neck and shoulder last week. Haven't' heard from the doctor as of yet. I was on Diovan before I lost my job and health benefits. As a vet, the VA put me on the Lisinopril. The Diovan worked fine for me, too expensive for us vets I guess. I am discontinuing the Lisinopril as of today 10/24/09. I feel like I imagine a ninety year old would feel with these aches and all. I havent' admitted it, but I believe I'm feeling mildly depressed as well. Let's see what a week of purging this from my system does. f. D.

Hi everyone, I had my mirena put in feb of 2008. Around June 2008 I started having dizzy spells, and headaches. Went to ENT and ruled out inner ear problems, went to neurologist and he said it could be migraines. I never had them before but have a family history. I have in the last couple months been having really bad dizzy spells and nausea, like 4-5 times a week. Has anyone else had any of these problems? Not sure if its the mirena or not, but have been to just about every doctor and no one can figure out why i have been so dizzy and nauseous> Any suggestions?????

I am having trouble coming off of YAZ. I am 30 and have been taking YAZ for a year and a half. I've had little to no side effects at all while taking it. I felt great... the best I felt in my life. Little to no moodiness during PMS, very light periods. It was great! I have been off YAZ for a month and a half and I feel like a monster! I have mood swings, anger, and I'm very irritable. It seems that I am experiencing some of the same side effects coming off of YAZ that others are experiencing while on it. .... I am just wondering if anyone else has or had my experience. I'm tempted to go back on it just because I feel terrible being off of it. I would like to try getting pregnant within the year... so I thought getting off of the pill from now would be a good adjustment. Any thoughts? Should I get back on it or "tough" it out? - Laur

I took Wellbutrin 300 mg for two years before to quit smoking and for mild depression. After the initial (weeks 2-4) side effects of nausea, dizziness and headaches - I felt great. Not drugged and not overly emotional. I had been crying all the time and felt hopeless. I felt much better (and didn't want to smoke at all). I quit it for about 2 years and now I am back on Wellbutrin for the last 7 months. I started with Cymbalta - but hated the loss of sex drive (not able to orgasm - so who wants to have sex, right?) and felt drugged. So Wellbutrin was a welcome "old friend" I didn't have bad side effects with switching and have been pretty happy. EXCEPT for the one very scary side effect that I have experienced just a handful of times - but I really am curious if anyone else has had this HEAD TRIP WHILE DRIVING: It has happened when I'm on the interstate and/or bridge when I am driving at fast speeds, and my head feels whoozie all of the sudden and my brain seems to shift sideways - like on a roller-coaster, up and down, sideways - and I am amazed that my hands don't go with it and drive me into the wall! It takes intense concentration and wheel gripping to get myself where I can pull off the road. What the?? I don't want to ever experience this again - but it is so OCCASIONAL. The only variable I can think of is that I have not been faithfully taking the WB at the same time everyday (I'm more and more forgetful) and have skipped a day. Has ANYONE ELSE had a similar experience???

I have been on Loestin 24 Fe for 4 days and had to stop taking it on my 5th day. I am experiencing terrible headaches, nausea, and dizziness! I started thinking that I might be pregnant, but after reading all of these posts I know that it's not the case. I would not recommend for anyone to get on this pill because of the sickness I have had with it. It just doesn't seem worth it to me! DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL! I'm Switching for Sure!

I was on SSRI's for a while (lexapro, zoloft) when I finally couldn't take the tiredness, weight consistency, and NO sex drive. So I tried Wellbutrin SR 150 2x a day. Started off at 150 for a few days and felt like I was given a new life! I had never felt so good. Then it was time to increase my does to the 300mg. I started getting headaches, dizziness, my ears are ringing so bad I can't hear very well anymore. So I went back down to 150mg per day. I don't feel as tired, but it's still there. The ringing won't go away and I am still dizzy. The funny thing is, is that I can almost guarantee it's the same time everyday. I get the dizziness and headaches around 3pm, they go away(most of the time I have to lay down) and by about 5pm they're gone, but by about 10pm they're back. And it happens every day like clockwork. I like the way I feel (minus the headaches and dizziness, and ringing) my brain doesn't feel "numb" like I did on the Zoloft or Lexapro, and I have lost a few pounds which doesn't hurt, but I don't think I should feel like this everyday. I want a medication that I can feel good on without headaches and dizziness. And PLEASE no ringing in the ears. It's good to know that other people are experiencing these side effects, I really thought I was the only one.

This contraceptive means that I will never go on the pill again. I was on Jasmine for a year, lost my boyfriend, lost a lot of weight through been sick every morning, and through depression. I didn't have sex for the entire time I was on it. Couldn't bare anyone touching me, including close friends just for a friendly hug. I was paranoid, had panic attacks and was in a constant state of nervousness. I cannot believe that this drug has not been taken off the market, that it is still recommended to people as the "wonder" contraceptive pill is completely baffaling.

Hi girls. I've been reading a lot of the postings and am trying to weigh the pros and cons of getting Mirena. Currently I'm on Loestrin 24 and other than dizziness and headaches it's not really much different from most other birth controls. My OB suggested Mirena out of convenience and overall affordability. I realized with Mirena it's a one time deal for the next 5 years, whereas with the the pill it's a never ending cycle of paying hundreds of dollars each year. So that's a plus. But I went through the endless period when I originally started Loestrin and am really not looking forward to that again when I start up with Mirena. It was an exhausting experience, not to mention it makes you feel gross. The insertion also has me really nervous. My OB explained to me that the procedure is going to be painful, since I haven't yet had a child to widen the opening of the cervix. Although, after reading some of the postings from women that have had a few babies and claimed "it was worse than childbirth without drugs" I'm really unsure if it's something I want to try. I'm also a little wary about having something inside me. Are the strings noticeable? Does it make sex uncomfortable? If anyone has some insight or some helpful thoughts I'd appreciate it.

What symptoms have you experienced coming off of the generic form of Seasonale called Jolessa? Right now I am so confused if whether these are withdrawal symptoms or pregnancy considering I've already taken HPT that came out neg. Some of these symptoms were only there during the last month I was on them until now which is why it's confusing. My 2 years on Jolessa I've experienced spotting for 2 out of the 3 months with a 1-3 day period, psoriasis, bloating, dizziness, and headaches. When I came off I started my period 3 days later then came all the breast tenderness, nausea, hot flashes, insomnia, fatigue, abdominal pain, and back pain. Now 29 days later is brownish-pink bloody show like substance with severe cramping. I was fine before I went on Jolessa (regular cycle, just didn't want periods) now I am messed up!

I have been taking Omeprazole since December 2007 now so 2 and a half months.

I had the dose increased to 40mg 3 weeks ago as 20mg wasn't curing the burning in my throat.

For a few weeks now i have had increasing vertigo/dizziness and palpitations. I only linked the 2 to the medication just yesterday, googled it just now and confirmed my suspicions to the Omeprazole.

Other feeling i have had since taking this medication...

Severe dizziness
vertigo
palpitations
headaches/migraines
weakness
fatigue
sweating
nausea
bloating
stomach cramps
visual problems
intolerance to bright lights
aching joints
chest pain

Now my question to myself is do i come off the tablets and endure the misery of my acid reflux? surely there must be something else we can take for our stomach problems that don't cause these awful side effects.
Anyone tried anything else that worked and didn't make them unwell?

I've used Lantus since may of 2004. I gained approximately 20 lbs in about 2 months and experienced the following: nausea, feeling cloudy, dizziness and headaches a few times a week. My blood sugar is always between 80 to 120 probably 8 out of 9 glucose tests. I didn't take Lantus for one week and after 24 hours all of the negative symptoms were gone. However, my blood sugar was higher between 140 to 200 but I felt 100 times better. I'm going to attempt to get stronger pills than the 60 mg of Starlix I am taking and/or different insulin.
