I have taken Ovcon for the past year. I do not smoke or drink. I have normal blood pressure, cholesterol. I am 27 years old. I do have a low iron count. About three to four weeks ago I woke up with a Charly horse in my calf. The pain slowly grew until I was limping. I went to ER and they said it was probally a sprain. A week later the pain was so bad I was could barely walk. I went again into the ER and they found a blood clot (deep vein thrombosis) in my thigh. Dr's said it is possible the pill is related since I had no pre-existing factors. The only birth control I will ever use again is condoms.

I am in my second week of Yasmin. The first week I was sick with stomach ache/nausea every afternoon. Now, last night and tonight I am have a wavey heart sensation. I'm wondering if it is caused by the BCP. I do not smoke. Any advice?

Have been on Toprol 25 mg for almost a year, and prior to that was at 50mg for about two years, prescribed for fast heart rate/benign palpitations and also for boderline high BP. Worked fine for BP and palpitations, but six months ago, BP went high again, so now on Diovan low dose and still Toprol 25 mg. Anyway, Diovan has fixed the BP. The most major side effect with TOPROL I believe is the cause for my shortness of breath. I have now began weaning myself off of the Toprol (with ok from Cardiologist) and hope to see an improvement with the SOB....it's been terrible. I get short of breath just talking on the phone, and I do not smoke. I'm hopeful that the symptoms will improve one my body is clear of the Toprol. Anybody else experience SOB from Toprol?

I took yutopar for 5 weeks during my last pregnancy in 1984--it was effective in preventing the premature birth of my daughter who is now a healthy 20-year old college student. However, I remember that it would make my heart pound so hard that you could actually see it. Recently, I have begun having chest pains, and have noticed that it feels just like it did 20 years ago. (I am 53, exercise, do not smoke, am not overweight, do not have diabetes--otherwise healthy). Just wondering...

My Name is Bill, I have been on 20 Mgs Lisinopril for one year or more. I'm 56 years old. I have "no" alergies and I do not smoke. But I do sometime smoke a cigar for fun. I don't have coughing problem or hair loss, My sexual performance is the same as it was when I was 21 years old. But not as erect. I do have a problem with sore Joints that takes months to heal. I sometimes feel my legs buckling. I got off the drug for a week and my knees healed. Could this drug slow the healing process ?? Oh, by the way, my erection power returned and I had a wet dream. (not trying to be perverted Just informative) My BP without Lisinopril, 190/30. With, 180/21.
I'm not a heavy drinker and I take "no" other drugs. Only a multimin per day. I eat only healthy foods and My memory is exceptional. I'm back on Lisinopril until I find a substitute. Because of this drug I'm unable to perform my favorite hobby, Bowling. Let me know if someone is experiencing the same symtoms.

I am on 200 mg of Toprol, because I have cardiomyopathy. In about 2001 I was feeling very poorly, fighting and gasping for breath whenever I lay down or adjusted my position in bed. I had been advised that with my height and weight I could expect to be able to tolerate not more than 150 mg of Toprol. By this time I was in assisted care. My regular doctor was out of town, so I asked another doctor in our clinic if my dosage could be adjusted back to 150 mg. This doctor agreed to this, and I immediately felt noticeably better. Shortly after this I was out of assisted care and back in independent living. I continued taking 150 mg for the past 5 years.
-- By aliceh11 | Reply | Private Message meBut I recently changed doctors, so that all my medical records could be with the same system. The new doctors have raised my dosage of Toprol up to 200 mg, and I have been experiencing some of the same symptoms I suffered in 2001: Exhaustion, great weakness, episodes of fighting for breath several times a night; at times I sense that the struggle may not be far from death!
The doctors say I now have to be on maximum doses of drugs. But I do not smoke or drink, and sense that people like us sometimes need smaller doses than others. Out of desperation I have just started reducing my own dosage back to 300 mg in two days (150 a day). The pills are almost impossible to split, though I can break them in half, so I am taking 200 one day, 100 the next. Last evening I took my first 100--and slept through the night WITH NO BREATHING EPISODES!
I'm going to make notes on my daily results and inform my doctors on what I find.
