I am so happy I found this site and read some of the entries. On Monday I had gone to the doctor because a sinus infection I had last week had come back. So he suggested something stronger this time, Avelox 400mg. The first night I took it I had the usual nausea and dizziness. But the 2nd night I took it I had on top of the nausea.... anxiety, couldn't focus, jittery, trouble falling asleep, slight tremors. I was freaked out because I never have this from any other antibiotic before. After I found this site, I called my doctor immediately and he switch me to the Z-pak, which I'm used to taking with little side effects. I still feel weird and can't wait until this drug is out of my system. I'm soo glad I stopped before my side effects got worse. What a horrible drug. It should be taken off the market! Yes i took away my infection fast but soooo not worth the horrible side effects!

please everyone who is on lisinopril be warned!!!! my mother was on this medication for a month and began having hives. she went to the emergency room and they gave her antihistamines. a few days later she woke up with facial swelling and a sense of not being able to breath. she went back to the emergency room where she was treated as above. twenty minutes after discharge she began swelling and her throat closed. she suffered cardiac arrest due to lack of oxygen from the swelling in her face and throat.she was stabilized, but unfortunately did not survive this ordeal. please, everyone on this medication, if you experience hives, facial swelling, or lip swelling, see your doctor immediately and push to have medication switched!!!!!!!

Update # 3 .. Hi girls, I'd like to happily report that i am 100% back to my normal self. Bleeding is gone as well. I still have not yet called my doctor.
Something that i had forgotten to mention was that i decided to get off the pill on my own , with out consulting my doctor. I really trust my doctor but, i wanted to take this experiment on my own and see if the problem really was the pill with out my doctor immediately putting me on another pill, or with out anyone putting it in my head that i should just continue the pill.
I cant tell you how happy i am to feel better. It only took me 1 1/2 weeks to get back to normal. my body also feels different, it feels healthier. I don't want any of you to feel like you should get off the pill or that the pill is bad for everyone, i just want everyone to be aware of what it can do and how you can fix it.
i want all of you to know that your are not going "crazy". Im going to wait a few months and take sometime to think about getting gon another pill. i know that all pills have different affect, its just about finding the right one for you.

After my father's office was flooded by an AC backup at his workplace in June 2006, and as a result mold grew in the carpeting & walls. He got very, very sick & his doctor put him on Prednisone for almost a year. No local doctor nor specialist told us of the dangers of being on a steroid for more than a few weeks. My father kept getting sicker & sicker until one day in March of 2007 we had to rush him to the ER. There his doctor arrived, put MORE prednisone directly into his veins and as my father grew weaker & sicker we knew we had to get him out of there. We took him to Shands in Gainesville and they immediatly began their magic. It took a good week or so to undo the immediate damage that Prednisone had done to my father. It took until this month (October) until his liver & vital organs started working properly again and reached safe levels. In fact, he's still being carefully monitored by his Shands doctor to ensure his body will continue healing itself. His new doctor told me that if we hadn't taken my dad to Shands that day, he would absolutely be dead. Prednisone is a very lethal, dangerous drug if perscribed for more than a few weeks at most! Please, if your doctor wants you to take this steroid any longer than that, go see another doctor immediatly! It will save your life.
