Have been off Advair for 2 weeks after years of taking it. Does anyone know what the withdrawal effects are with Advair. I think I am having some. I will ask a doctor when I see him again but I would rather hear directly from people who have been taken off Advair. Please respond! I need to know. Thanks.

To All-After months of looking at this site and what has seemed to be a mix of just sorting through personal dialogues of individual conversations , it is almost the first time I have found some very helpful actual fact based research and information. So whomever is making all these posts, I truly appreciate it. Please continue.
I've been having what seem to be growing chest pains, most pronounced just before my period to the point it is almost unbearable. Have other women experienced this? It started two years into taking Yasmin but I've now been off for several months and it seems to be getting worse? Does anyone know what this is or could be attributed to? I've already been to the doctor who after an EKG said that it was normal but that I had developed a heart murmur? I've also noticed palpitations and irregularity of how my heart beats during these times. I would greatly appreciate some help/information.....Its becoming quite worrisome.
Thank you

Does anyone know what percentage of women taking Yasmin experience the terrible side effects you all have here? I just began taking Yasmin a week and a half ago, and am now terrified! I woke up this morning with a rash-type thing all over my face, predominantly on my forehead. I thought at first that it was a serious breakout that had just occured overnight, but then I realized that the little bumps were almost like little blisters all over my face!! It looks like terrible acne and is red and hurts! Has anyone else experienced this? Should I switch already? What has been an overwhelmingly positive alternative pill for most of you all on here? SO glad I found this board! Thank you!

hi all,
the previous post (lisa) mentioned foot warming/tingling.does anyone know what thats all about? i have been off yasmin for about 7 weeks now and am feeling soo much better,i am getting near to my old self again. i still have a few niggling things..one of them being that the side of my left foot gets really warm and tingles, this happens through out the day,i hadn't thought it could be connected to the yasmin but having seen the previous post i wondered if it was common? i have also has a blocked ear for about 6 months now that comes and goes, think it could be sinus related but wondered if anyone else had had sinus problems whilst on yasmin?...... while trying to clear my ear problem my doctor prescribed sudofed...if you suffer with anxiety do NOT take it....the psuedoephedrine makes the anxiety worse..i discovered this after 3 days on it,needless to say i stopped taking it immediately as the anxiety was one of the worst symptoms caused by yasmin! hope you are all doing ok and getting better each day.

Her back bothers her alot so she was sent to a physical therapist, she has depression also. the doctor here seems to think its just side effects of tamoxifen, but she is on her 3rd year of taking the drug, why is this happening to her now? she didnt seem to have problems in the first two and a half years. does anyone know what could be the problem?

My 7 year old son started Advair about a year ago. The doctor started him on 250 twice a day and I new that wasn't working so I cut him down to 250 once a day. Adam has increasingly exhibit ADHD symptoms that he never had before, and about 6 weeks ago started having bladder accidents during the day. His teacher told me he showed signs of 'aggressive depression' and was concerned about his lack of social skills. I called his Primary physician last week and she wanted to decrease his dose (which she said was excessive for his age) to 100 twice a day (I did 100 once a day because he can't sleep at night if we do this at night). Every day since then there has been an incident. He was caught in major lies yesterday and responded to the teacher in a fit of uncontrolled rage! This is NOT my son! He tells me his brain tells him to do stuff and he can't control himself. I called his primary and she said take him off ALL Advair! Does anyone know what his withdrawal symptoms might look like? Now, in two weeks we'll be sending him to a child psychologist! I believe this is all a result of Advair! All this treatment was to reverse his Reactive Airway Disease (which apparently wasn't full-blown ashtma to begin with). Watch out for this medication with kids!!!!

I have been on Lupron for six weeks initially taking a 30-day shot, but then the second doctor I saw put me on a 90-day cycle. I took my last shot on 4/26/04, but since I'm moving out of state my doctor wrote me another 90-day prescription (11.25 mg) to be administered on June 1. Does anyone know what type of effect this will have on me to take another shot of this dosage so soon? I'm contemplating not getting (if it would increase my side effects) as I'm not "due" to get another one until July 23.
My side effects have been what I label as "bearable." On some days the hot flashes come by the hour -- and are VERY powerful. And on other days I can go hours with one. I've tried to incorporate mind/body techiques i.e. meditation, exercise and relaxation -- so hopefully this is helping. I rarely, if ever, get a good night's sleep. I actually feels as if my bed is ON FIRE or that I'm sleeping on a heating pad. Then moments later I have to put on 2-3 layers of cover to warm up. But, "this too shall pass..." is what I keep telling myself. However, recently I've noticed that I'm having short-term memory loss. A couple weeks ago I turned on the kitchen faucet to run dishwater; however, giving second thought to the running water I left the house and went to workout -- coming back two hours later after having flooded my downstairs neighbors' apartment (literally destroyed it). While I recall turning the water on, I can't for the life of me remember anything after that. This for me is VERY scary. I'm also having problems remembering tasks that I do on a daily basis (job-related activities that I do at the same time, EVERYDAY). Not good. . .
The one good thing about the drug therapy is that two months ago I was severely anemic (with a hemoglobin level of 7.4 on a scale of 12-16). My periods were very heavy (clotting), my energy level was poor (I could hardly get out of bed) and the tumor was the size of a 5-month fetus. I no longer have a period because of the shots, so I'm not losing the excess blood, and I'm on Iron therapy of 975 mg per day and the tumor seems to be shrinking. However, I noticed yesterday that my breast were getting smaller, but I thought it was my imagination -- now I realize it may be a possible side effect of the drug. Plus, from time to time I've noticed ringing in my ears (particularly the right one) for no apparent reason.
I was planning to get a hysterectomy to remove the tumor but I may be able to get an embolization if its shrinks more over the next six months -- slated to start a new job on 6/1 and can not take time for the surgery until after first of the year.
The drug is working well for me, but the side effects definitely scare me. I also have the depression but through the power of God I will myself out of bed and jog at least 3-4 miles a day. I REALLY, REALLY think the exercise helps.
Keep the faith, ya'll. Peace and blesssings.

I only started yasmin 8 days ago. I got on it because I've read in several places that it prevents weight gain. Since the second day, I have noticed a number of terrible side effects.
1. Increased break outs
2. EXTREME moodswings - 1/2 of the time I have suicidal thoughts, angry at everything and everyone, always on the verge of tears, etc.. and the other 1/2 I'm on cloud 9!
3. Increased appetite - I can't get enough sugar, and the usual 'after period = no appetite' thing was completely reversed.
4. Leg cramps
5. Vaginal dryness
6. Decreased sex drive
7. Increased Anxiety
8. Always thirsty
9. Constantly have to use the restroom
10. Terrible gas
After reading all of these postings on how bad Yasmin can be for MOST women, I'm coming off as soon as I can. I feel much better knowing that the mood swings I've been experiencing have been probably because of Yasmin.
Does anyone know what will happen if I stop the pill 8 days after my last period? Will I have my period all over again?
Thanks-
Sandi

does anyone know what the difference between regular loestrin and the loestrin 24? Loestrin 24 did not work for me I was getting my period 2 weeks before it was due. I also had horible cramps and mood swings. I am not sure If I want to try another pill. My doctor said to try femcon fe but my insurence does not cover it. It is 63.00 to expensive for me.
