has anyone suffered from postpartum depression put on the pill to see if symptoms go away and was feeling worse? I swear this pill did me in. I am still dealing with ppd but it has been a month now that I stopped loestrin 24 and I feel so much better. I still have rough days though not to bad. I swear I am ready to file a lawsuite on this company and my doctor who kept pushing it down my throat instead of getting to the bottom of it they madi it worse with this pill. Good luck to everyone. I hope you do not have to suffer as long as I did

I took Doxycyline Hyclate for one week. After the fifith day, I woke up feeling like a golf ball was stuck in my throat. It progressively got worse over the next few days. When I swallowed, I had this sharp pain in my upper back. It got to the point where I could hardly stand the pain. I went to the doctor and they put a scope down my throat after a battery of other tests. The doc said I had signifigant changes in my esophagus due to the severe reflux that was caused from taking the Doxycycline. I am now on meds to help with the esophagitis I now have.

Hmmm. Can't believe everything I am hearing about Advair. Just this past weekend I was at my grandmothers and she told me Advair made her feel she had to clear her throat. Lightbulb! I have been using Advair for about five months and never realized that is why I feel I have a lump in my throat and that I am constantly clearing my throat, not to mention I sound like a frog when I talk sometimes! I also have gained ten pounds and I have never had a problem with weight! I was glad to find this sight and hear others have similar problems. Thanks! I am going to quit using Advair today!

I am 64 and have been taking 20mg of Lisinopril for 6 months. I thought I had a bad cold 6 months ago that would not go away and it was getting worse. I went to the doctor and was prescribed with my first round of antibiotics. It did no good and the coughing was getting worse as well as the congestion.
I went to another doctor and got another prescription for antibioctics. Still no progress and worse. Then my doctor prescribed 4 weeks of Levaquin 500mg and gave me a prescription for codene cough syrup and a nasal spray (Nasonex). Still getting worse. The coughing attacks were so bad that I felt I would vomit. My side muscles got so sore from the coughing that I could not breathe without pain pills. I was getting 2 hours of sleep a night at the most even with sleeping pills due to the coughing and congestion and anxiety. I thought I was dying. They gave me a CAT SCAN of my head and it was no polyps but my sinuses were all full. They gave me a chest xray and my chest was clear. They tried lots of blood test and I had no bacteria and a slight sign of allergy in my blood. Of course I have never been allergic to anything in my life. My doctor then prescribed 5 days of Prednisone at 2 pills a day. Still not better and very tired from all these drugs. I went to an ENT (ear, nose, throat specialist) who looked down my throat with a tube through my nose to see my voice box. He said my voice box was very red and irritated and he told me to take Prilosec (an acid reducer). Still no relief and worse. I was sure I was dying. Finally I realized that this all started about the same time my doctor had prescribed Lisinopril for my mildly high blood pressure in January. I stopped taking this drug as it was the only thing I could think of and the only drug I was taking. After about 6 days I started getting better. I had slept fairly well for 6 nights when my sister-in-law died and I felt I really needed a blood pressure reducer to get through the funeral. I took one more Lisenopril to get me through that one day and that night all my symptoms came back with a vengeance as bad or worse than ever. I stopped taking the pill again and experienced extreme fatigue from the withdrawl but am now getting better again. This pill can kill you!! There is nothing about this side effect on the drug. There must be hundreds of people out there with this same experience. I am writing this for YOU. Hopefully I can save some other people from this same life threatening, horrible experience. ( I did not find this site on the computer until this week as I am so mad about the loss of 6 months of my life. I thought I would check the computer out. Thanks so much for having this site as the minute I looked at some of the other responses I knew they had gone through exactly the same side effects from Lisenopril.) We could not go anywhere or do anything this summer due to my coughing attacks and no sleep. This drug is very DANGEROUS.

Since being switched from Wellbutrin SR to a coated generic tablet and most recently to Budeprion, I have noticed an increase in stomach pain that did not change whether taken with food or on an empty stomach. At first it was only intermittent, but the last few months it has been chronic and I believed I was developing an ulcer. Before having the large endoscope pushed down my throat, I decided to stop the budeprion and so far the stomach pains have gone away. I am curently petitioning my prescription plan to at least come up with another generic source for bupropion SR besided Budeprion.

i have just come off Doxy after about 4 days with severe heartburn ("im going to die" kind of bad), nausea, loss of appetite, headache, sore eyes, extreme fatigue and weakness, confusion, constipation and stomach cramps (felt as though i was getting my period..badly..)
When i first started taking them i initially noticed a feeling in my throat, somewhat like when you swallow a large pill without water, that didnt go away but proceeded to "move" down my throat for about three days, making swallowing uncomfortable. I then stopped taking them for unassociated reasons (social commitments involving alcohol-antibiotics and alcohol not a good mix) and felt fine. Once i began taking them again the feeling returned and on the third morning (2am) i awoke with incredible heartburn and it all went downhill from there.

On January 17, 2006 I was prescribed 500 mg of Levaquin for 10 days for a sinus infection. I was told to take the pill before I went to bed. That night I was extremely restless and could not fall asleep. I would start to fall asleep and then my body would "jump" awake again. I also woke up in the morning with nausea. I would force food down my throat. I lost my appetite and no longer craved foods I used to. I was having very earlymorning bowel movements. I had pain in my arm for a couple of days. I have never felt so crappy from being on a drug! After seven days on Levaquin I called my pharmicist and told him I felt like I was dying and he told me to start taking the pill in the morning. I did and felt a little better. Nevertheless, my nausea never went away in the morning. I would have tremors in the morning and was always cold. Finally, in April I started to have night sweats and lost alot of weight. In May I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I started on 10 mg of Lexapro and started seeing a psychotherapist. I was fine for about a month and then my nausea came back.
In November 2006. I was put on 40 mg of NEXIUM which has saved my life along with increasing my Lexapro dosage to 15 mg. LEVAQUIN NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET NOW! I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS DRUG CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE AND KILL YOU!!!!!!!

I posted here many months ago. I was given 2 Levaquin pills in an ER on Dec 10th, 2005, after fainting from the flu at home and falling face first on a wooden floor and smashing my nose and knocking myself out. Much blood pouring out all over. Very traumatic. Nose smashed to right side of my face. I was rushed by ambulance to our local ER but was sent home after 2 hours in this ER even after pleading with the hospital to keep me. No luck there. I fainted about 20 to 30 minutes after these first two ER administered Levaquin pills were given to me and they sent me home... 5 minutes into the ride home at midnight. My frantic wife rushed me back. They said it was a "vagal" response. My electrolytes were out of balance ( low pottassium) I had a fever and an elevated white blood cell count. I was coughing up bronchial flem and blood running down my throat from the smashed nose. I was extremely traumatized and scared from being knocked out and having blood shoot out of my smashed to the right nose ( I was bleeding and swallowing and spitting up blood for over one more week) and all while I was still in the middle of a powerful flu! But, not sick enough to be hospitalized according to this prestigious hospital here on the super wealthy Monterey Peninsula near Pebble Beach, Ca.
When my wife rushed me unconscious back to the hospital this time they put me in a large "recovery" room. Next day they gave me more Levaquin. Sent me home again that day, again against my wishes ( I had no PC to demand they keep me.) By that night I was having all the symptoms you all here have described. Nightmares, burning pain in right arm and shoulder, left shoulder also down to my hands. Bladder acting whacky, insides feeling haywire. shooting pains in chest, almost complete insomnia, scared, almost paranoid. And weakness beyond anything I have ever experienced...even with the flu. I could not even hold my hands up while laying down!
Went back to ER by ambulance 2 or 3 times that first week as I thought I was dying ( even while laying down ! ) that first day home and that first week. They always asked me what I was taking and it was only one drug...Levaquin. They never once suggested I stop taking this and I took a full 6 day course. Finally they started calling in the psych ward people and almost not treating me when I would go to them. How sad and humiliating that was. My stomach became so destroyed starting those first few days on Levaquin with pain I couldn't eat and lost 35 lbs. ( yes, that's 35 pounds ! ) in 1 or 2 months! Doctors couldn't find problem first couple of months but eventually months later after a camera endoscopy it appeared my middle intestines had been severely damaged somehow. 25 areas of inflammation, damage to fibers in the illeum, two beginning ulcers and I'm still going for more intestinal tests this next month at University Of San Francisco and Pacific Medical Center there....It's 9 and 1/2 months later and I am still going through daily nightmares of my insides and even heart beatings feeling like they have gone ballistic. Still pain in shoulders, arms, hands, chest walls, buttocks, knees, ankles, weak, unbalanced on my feet, weak thighs, incredible itching on forearms, back of elbows and sometimes scalp, incredibly sensitive to cold like never before, sometimes a burning ( sunburn ) type of feeling in face and neck, odd sharp pains sometimes in upper stomach, lower and even above heart area that last a few seconds, and a weird dry throat feeling when I breath like all the moisture inside of me has dried up, eye sight much worse, bladder acts crazy, many panic attacks ( Having one as I type and have to keep lorazapam handy ) Money has dried up.
Can't afford co-pays anymore. Doctors are irritated and impatient with me and don't even return calls. Small town. No more doctors to try. I'm 55 now. Was a concierge in a well known hotel. Loved my job. Hardly ever took medicines, didn't like going to doctors. But now, most doctors think I am just mentally off.
Had never seen a psychiatrist in my life. Married 24 years same woman, first wife, raised two kids who are now in college. This normal mental and social 50 year background means nothing to these doctors. I just all of a sudden have gone whacky according to them because they can't find easy to explain symptoms except middle intestinal damage, torn rotator cuff in right shoulder, fractured vertabrae posterior L-1 and two small cysts on left kydney, slightly enlarged prostate, mild to medium gastritis and diverticulosis...but nothing that would explain my body feeling like it's constantly being gripped and going haywire inside.
Today I feel this and like my heart and breathing is just gone crazy. I'm unsteady on my feet. Took a lorazapam and not feeling much better at all ( This is why I do not think it is simply anxiety...and I took Lexipro for a few months with similar no help with these symtoms. I quit that 2 to 3 months ago...actually can sleep better now and again, my symptoms never felt better with that stuff. ) I layed down but I still feel gripped inside and my heart beat kind of changing like a power surge and then a nervous jumpy feeling afterwards.
I am as scared as ever and it is a nightmare feeling that everyone has given up on you. I mentioned the Levaquin theory to my PC ( who is ready to drop me ) and he got upset and refuses to even discuss this saying it absolutely cannot be from that Levaquin prescripton I took.
No attorney will even touch this as they say it's too hard to prove and Bush has capped awards at $250,000 which you would have to be dead from liver failure to win.) My life is ruined. And no one will even begin to consider that it was the Levaquin even though all of this exploded that first week while taking only ONE medicine...Levaquin... and with thousands of people reporting the exact same symptoms. I literally have to pray constantly to keep it together with all the debt and almost death like feelings I live with every day. Creditors are calling like crazy. Dear God. But nobody will even consider the Levaquin. Isn't there even one doctor in the country that will even try to see what is happening to me outside of saying I'm crazy?

It has been a year ago since I had my reaction to Levaquin. On Feb. 11, 2005; I suffered an anaphexia reaction and had to be put on the vent for 3 days. I remained in CCU for 6 of the 7 days I was in the hospital. I took Levaquin about 5pm that evening and all of a sudden I became very tired. I went to lay down and 20 minutes later I woke with my ears on fire. I went to the bathroom and looked at my ears and they were both bright red with a rash on both of them. Then these red marks began to go down my neck, down my arms and it was covering my whole body. I went immediately to the emergency room. The triage nurse asked me some questions and my lips began to turn blue and my tongue was swelling even bigger. The nurse put me back in the Urgent care where I was left. I was not put on any monitors or seen by any doctor. Then within 5 minutes a nurse showed up, didn't check my arm band to see if it was me and gave me a shot of ephirenephrine in my stomach and walked away. As she turned the corner, I was laying down on my back telling my daughter to go get a "real" doctor, something was wrong. The next thing I knew, I was being surrounded by a bunch of people and being told they were about to put me out and put me on the vent. I just wanted to go away. I did. I lost 3 days of my life. Now, it has been over a year since this happened. I am extremely hypersensitive. Now I am experiencing allergic reactions to everything I eat. It starts with the very tip of my tongue going numb and tingling. Then it goes to the middle of my tongue, which makes my tongue thick, then it goes to my Uvala and down my throat. My hands get real red and I become very thrusty. But it hasn't bothered my breathing at all. Does anyone out there have these same symptoms? If so, what is it called? and do you know how to get rid of it? Thanks.

I began taking prednisone 7/13/06, and the side effects are terrible. I have thush so bad that my tongue bleeds when I brush my teeth, I'm constantly hungry and I usually only eat twice a day, I feel bloated, my eyes ache and I have heartburn so bad that it feels like someone is literally pouring acid down my throat. I was given predinose to relieve chronic laryngitis. The side effects are much worse than the loss of my voice. I wish I would have been worned by my Dr. prior to taking the medication. My concern now is what type of long or short effects will taking this medicine have on my body and how long before I notice an improvement. I'm also a diabetic and my blood sugars have been out of control.

In February, 2005, I had a severe allergic reaction to Levaquin. The day I received the prescription for Levaquin. I took my first dose at 5pm. As soon as I took the pill, I became very sleepy, so I went to bed. At 520pm, I awoke suddenly because my ears felt as if they were on fire. When I went to the bathroom mirror to look at my ears, they were both firey red and ringing. I then experienced some tightness in my throat and my tongue began to swell. So I ask my daughter to go with me to the emergency room. So we left to go to the emergency room. When I got there, which we only lived about 2and 1/2 miles away, my lips had begun to turn blue and my tongue was getting thick feeling. The triage nurse put me in a wheelchair and brought me back to urgent care. I sat down on a wood table and was talking to my daughter trying not to worry. Then a nurse arrived with a shot of ephinephrine and gave it to me in my stomach. As soon as the nurse left and was out of sight I started to lay back onto the table, as I was telling my daughter to get a doctor something was wrong. Then when I came to I had an oxygen mask over my mouth and all the doctors and nurses surrounding me, telling me to remain calm they are going to put me asleep so that they can intabate me, (stick a tube down my throat to breath for me). The next time I woke up, I had been on a "vent" for 3 days and they had to supply me with 10 liters of fluid after they got me on the 'vent'. I stayed a week in the hospital before I was discharged. My body swelled up so badly, I looked like I was a pumpkin about to pop open. I had small little dots all over my body for weeks after this episode. I can now take no antibotics. I am allergic to all antibotics so If I get an infection, I am out of luck!

This Lisinopril is driving me crazy. I will have outbursts of a cough due to any irritant for example: dry air. That is during the day. Then it doesn't do it for hours. Then at night, Oh my Goodness. I can't sleep due to the constant tickling in my throat. It seems like it is far down my throat where a clearing does not help. I have gagged many times and also threw-up, which puts enormous pressure on my head and thus a headache. I guess I have to call my doctor to switch, but have tried several BP meds to find the one that works for me. It has been two years since my diagnosis for hypertension.

Bad spelling must be a side effect, based upon the info posted here. Myself, I have diarrhea, but it's better than the humongous mucous slug choking me by crawling down my throat each night. I thank my physician for prescibing it!

stinging on instillation, the feeling of boiling lava - without the heat - slowly going down my throat and into my chest, intense nausea, feeling of someone standing on my chest, dramatic change in pulse and b/p, nasty taste in mouth that lasted for days, difficulty breathing, wheezy sound in chest, sounded like I had a very bad cold when I talked.

I was on advair for 2 weeks for Bronchitis. After 2 days I developed small bumps in the back of my tongue and down my throat. My gums also are a little painful. I have been off the inhaler now for 2 weeks but I am wondering how long it takes for all the side effects to go away. If anyone knows please let me know. I was really beginning to think I was dying it was so bad.

One week after starting Lisinopril I began coughing at night. I have a clear drainage down my throat when reclining that I can't get rid of, with coughing or swallowing. After treatments for sinusitis on two antibiotics, and feeling tingling in my feet and aching in my legs, as well as waking each night by 3 am, I read this side effects site. FINALLY, I know this drug is causing the problem. It may work for millions of people, but not for me.

Well, I found this site just AFTER I started a new med for my BP. Finally figured out the lisinopril was the cause of my horrible cough. I started taking the drug in Nov of 2003. And had a surgury in Dec ....thought the cough was from the tube down my throat. Then it was flu/cold season. The cough steadily got worse, more frequent. My wife overheard someone say their doc was changing their BP meds because of a cough. Well I have been off lisinopril for two weeks and the cough is mild now. However this site brought to light ALL the other symptoms I never realized were from the drug.
Eye twitches,head sweats,vivid dreams.
The lisinopril did control my BP.
Hopefully this new med will work as well.
Lisinopril is just not the right one for me.
Good luck to Everyone!

About two years ago my entire body fell apart. I was told that my thyroid was not working, a couple of months later I was told that I also had acid reflex. I have been taking Levoxyl (.075mg) going on two years now.
My joints hurt so (hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, and knuckles) sometimes I feel slightly nauseau.
In the past few months the pain has worsened. I mentioned this to my doctor and he gave me some sample pain pills used to treat arthritice. I also mentioned tightness in my chest and pains under or next to my rib cage. The good old doctor sent me for an ultrsound and everything was normal, next he sent me to a doctor that ran a scope down my throat and everything was normal as could be having acid reflex. I am so tired of the run around, my body feels like I am beyond my years. I just want to be able to sleep a full night once again.
My husband said that he heard that virgin coconut oil is not good for your health. Who do you believe?

I was given this for a root canal. All I can say is stay away from it, ask for lorcet or percocet if you are in pain. This stuff made me feel like i needed to throw up but couldn't. I ended up sticking my finger down my throat at 4am just to get some sleep. All my motor skills were delayed and my balance was off. I was easily startled and agitated. I would be lying on the sofa sleeping and would suddenly get the feeling that someone was standing over me. I woke up and just about jumped off the couch in fright, and of course there was nothing there. Extreme Dry Mouth, and the medication blurred my vision at times. I also had no sense of time and was very disoriented. I also had some of the strangest dreams in my life while on this medication. My right hand would twitch at times, but not very often. This should be labeled as a roofy, not a pain killer.
