Up until today I thought I was seriously going crazy. I have been taking Yasmin for about 2 years but I took a break from it for about 3 months. I just started taking it again in September and it has been going really downhill from there. Since I began taking it again my moods have gone out of control, nauseous, NO sex drive( and when my fiance would want to I would tell him to leave and that all I wanted to do was go to sleep), cramping, bloating.. etc..I have been doing poorly in school because I had been feeling depressed with the relationship between my boyfriend and i. My boyfriend encouraged me to medically smoke marijuana when I had pain from cramps and it has surely helped me. I know that I could choose to continue to feel like crap all the time or to figure out what is wrong with me. Finally I got online and wanted to see what everyone else was feeling while being on Yasmin. I had every effect that every other upset woman had. Finally I know what it is... YASMIN. I will stop taking Yasmin once this month is over. Thank god

I've been on Diovan for about 9 months and I have all of the side effects everyone else here has mentioned! Weight gain, bloating, fatigue, mood swings, extreme muscle aches- especially in my lower back and legs, hunger, and more! These Drs. are sooo stupid!!!! They tell us to lose weight and then give all of us medications that cause weight gain. I am also diabetic and my Dr. also has me take Humalog insulin- which also causes weight gain! I would enjoy hearing from everyone who has had side effects from Diovan, and I would like to hear about alternative remedies for hypertension. Good luck and Best Wishes to all of you....Kim Q.

I was given nuvaring to stop heavy periods and excrutiating cramps, my dr. directed me to insert the ring every 28 days for 3mths then take it out the fourth week and have a period put it back in on the seventh day and keep repeating this every 3mths giving me a period a total of 4 times a year. The first month was fine but unfortunately 2 weeks into the second month everything went downhill and I had to pull it out. First there was bleeding then i was nauseous, breast were sore, terrible cramps, lower back pain, headaches and i want to sleep all day not sure about moodiness b/c I was moody anyway but I was'nt depressed i could have been had I of stayed on it dealing with the side effects this causes. I just took it out July 2nd and am still bleeding, cramping and have nausea and back pain, I wonder how long this is going to take to get out of my system b/c I am miserable. I made a dr.'s appt they want to switch me to something else and I will REFUSE! I was on the pill several years ago and they made me nauseous but they did help my period some but I quit those too, I will remain doped up on 800 milligrams of advil the week of my period before I accept anymore birth control it is not worth the agony it is putting us through.

It was nice to find this website, finally figuring out a reason why I get my yeast infections, headaches, naseau, pain on my left breast bone, fatigue, mood swings, etc... I always thought it was just me, but I'm now thinking that maybe it's not. I've had recurrent yeast infections ever since being on Yasmin (I've been on it for over 4 years) and my MD has never mentioned it could be the pill. I finally started seeing a connection between the two when I started tracking what happens to me when I miss taking the pill (ALWAYS a yeast infection). And it got me to thinking that maybe there are other women out there who suffer from the same thing. Also, at some points I actually thought I had serious mental/health problems b/c of my consistent headaches, fatigue, and mood swings. I used to be really active up until I was 19 when I started on Yasmin, and it went downhill from there. I guess I just thought that this was just my normal grown up self (I know sounds kinda lame). And I've totally experienced the lack of sex drive, it seems I'm only interested the week before I get my period or when I'm on it.

Started taking sinulair about a month ago and I thought it was a gift from god...it worked great! I have depression anyway (controlled by meds) and noticed that things were going downhill moodwise about 10 days ago. I'm stopping it today after going online and seeing all the people who've had "moodiness" and depression....for me it could start a tailspin I can't risk.

my son is on toprol and i've never seen him sleep so much in his life. he has svt. atleast thats the reason they put him on this medication and say he will be on it forever or until something better comes along. he has no ambition. he used to be hyperactive growing up. maybe there is something else he could take for the tachycardia??? i'm so confused as to what to even ask the dr at this point.

It was fine for first 4-5 months. Then the sex drive went downhill until there was nothing left. I stopped the pill for last two months and the sex drive hasent returned.

I am so glad I found this site. Since I have been on Lisinopril 5mg, I have experienced extreme fatigue, sweating, left side of my neck is sore and my left eyeball was swelling and I am getting floaties and little spider like webbs, sometimes itching of the eyes. I also have gained weight and have been so bloated I could not wear some of my clothes. I went to my eye doctor about my eye situation, he did all the tests necessary and could not find anything wrong with the eye, other than the swelling, he suggested sinus problems and referred me to my primary doctor. The primary doctor could find nothing wrong with my sinuses and referred me to the eye doctor!!!!!. I am drowsy a lot and just plain have no energy. The problems with my eye started when the doctor upped the dose from 5 to 10 mg. I have ringing in my ears to go along with everthing else. Of all the above I had none until I started on this rx. I was beginning to think I was on a downhill trip until I found this site. I cut the dosage from 10 to five and the swelling in the eye and the sinus pressure decreased. I will insist on being put on another rx for my b/p or I just will not take it,

i have just come off Doxy after about 4 days with severe heartburn ("im going to die" kind of bad), nausea, loss of appetite, headache, sore eyes, extreme fatigue and weakness, confusion, constipation and stomach cramps (felt as though i was getting my period..badly..)

When i first started taking them i initially noticed a feeling in my throat, somewhat like when you swallow a large pill without water, that didnt go away but proceeded to "move" down my throat for about three days, making swallowing uncomfortable. I then stopped taking them for unassociated reasons (social commitments involving alcohol-antibiotics and alcohol not a good mix) and felt fine. Once i began taking them again the feeling returned and on the third morning (2am) i awoke with incredible heartburn and it all went downhill from there.

My husband had an allergic reaction to some dust he inhaled and had minor tightness in the chest. His allergist and pulmonogist put him on Advair and he went straight downhill from there. He complained about side effects and expressed his desire to live drug free and the Drs insisted Advair was safe and get used to it because you will be taking it for the rest of your life. After 4 pulmonogists and worsening asthma he finally read REversing Asthma by Firshein and got off the ADvair. He is drug free for 4 months and his breathing tests were better today than 4 months ago when he was on ADvair.
Going off advair saved his life and our marriage. His side-effects included:

Shortness of breath
Lethargy - he stopped working out regularly
Insomnia
Anger - rages - he would burst into rages
Body aches
Forget fullness - he was once driving and couldnt remember the way home!!
And once he said he said he was sleeping and he thought the house exploded and he awoke to realize it was a "popping sound" in his head when he was asleep. He was glad to be alive but he never took Advair again after this one.

My health has gone downhill; because I was on Lipitor for 3 years. By the time I saw a Heipatologist my liver was damaged. He tested me for Hipatitis A,B&C, which showed NEGATIVE, but my liver was enlarged.

Biopsy showed .. Abnormal Liver.. in transition to Cirrhosis - Stage 3.
Blood profile.. High Liver, Hemoglobin 8.70 (excellent) NON-DIABETIC LEVEL.

The doctor ignored my concerns and kept prescribing the Lipitor.

I am now seeing so many doctors because of all the problems I now have. My liver is cirrhosis, nerve damage, neuropathy, muscle damage, erectile dysfunction, and now I am diabetic.
My greatest fear in being in a wheelchair becase I am having problems walking.

My grandmother has recently been hospitalized for a few problems. However in the past few weeks she has been taking ambien for pain and sleep relief. She has seen everything from my dead father and great grandfather to the grim reaper and tiny male ballerinas dancing on the wall, dogs and other hospital patients in her face! She also felt her body floating to the ceiling. It's been a very scarey time for her. Her blood pressure has been spiking real high and her speech is constantly slurred now. They are running tests to see if this could possibly be stroke related but so far have found nothing. Her doc has taken her off ambien and she sounds a bit more coherent today however her speech is still slurred. If this is truely the effect of ambien someone ought to lobby to have this stuff removed and banned from medical practice. She has never been this sick in her life and it seems as if she is speeding downhill at a rapid rate since starting to take ambien. She is 73 years old and still has a healthy body so why is her mind al of a sudden going out of control This stuff sounds like it is more harm than good.

I am not month 5 without Yasmine, and my life seems to be slowly getting back to normal. Although I now have severe anxiety problems , which I am taking pills for.I am so sad to read all these posts and sometimes cry because I cant believe we have to go through this.Everything that has happened to me is all here. Its unbelievable. A month after starting Yamine, my life went downhill, severe anxiety took control of my life, I honestly thought I was dying. Although all test proved me wrong, I still felt wrong.
Ladies, hold on it will get better, I am proof, I am finally starting to feel normal again.

I am in shock after reading all of your experiences...I began taking Yasmin one year ago to help clear up my acne, and it's truly been the worst year of my life. I've finally put 2 and 2 together. It did clear up my skin, but I'd rather have acne than be CRAZY. I have 3 yellow pills left, and after those, I am DONE.

I have a history of anxiety and depression, but it has never been this SEVERE. I quit my antidepressants in July and it's gone downhill since then. I give myself extreme panic attacks by sitting around and constantly dwelling on all of the stupid things I've done and said in the past. I did poorly in my first year of college (I was on Yasmin the whole time). I've quit jobs because I thought I couldn't handle my anxiety on the job. I've decided to go back to college in the spring, but I could kick myself for not doing better.

I was very fit before Yasmin, now I've gained 20 lbs.!!! I just can't stop eating. I will do anything to lose the weight I've gained.

I'm so happy I've decided to quit these pills, but I'm TERRIFIED about the withdrawal effects! It seems a lot of you have gained weight and had anxiety after quitting...could it be possible that I won't experience that because I've had such a bad experience while ON the pill? Now I'm having a panic attack thinking about the withdrawal!

my tongue feels like a piece of raw meat, my sleep is impaired, my stomach hurts , and about 2 hours after i take my dose my brain feels like it's rolling around in my head.

i'm glad i'm having these side effects because it makes me more determined than ever that i will use alternative medicine to repair my immune system and get my body back in balance. i hadn't had an antibiotic in 10 years before i took my first dose of Levaquin a year ago and my immune system has been going downhill ever since with about 1 UTI per month.

Been taking Lipitor for over two years without any problem that I attributed to it. Started traiing for a marathon--never run before in my life. Steadily increasing thigh pain which i attributed to the training until I am in SEVERE pain mainly in my thighs. Can barely go up or down stairs or uphill or downhill. Had to stop running and can't even really even walk for exercise right now. Taking Ibuprofen like M&M's. Just met someone this week who told me that extreme exercise caused him to have the same symptoms. I am relieved to find that stopping the Lipitor might allow me to once again exercise and maybe even do the marathon with my training group. Wonder if my indigestion if from Lipitor also?

Desperate Boyfriend

It's me again, unfortunately my girlfriend says she does not want to be in a relationship at the moment. She said that if Brad Pitt came along she would not care less either.

She says she has no desire for anything and that includes me. She has been advised to see a counsellor and probably will this week. She only wants me to be a friend, which I have reluctantly agreed to. I think she is suffering from depression.

I am feeling pretty down about things as only a month ago she wanted to marry me, was deeply in love with me and could not wait to be with me. She did suffer from some anxiety before going on Yasmin I am just hoping that it is the Yasmin that has caused her to go downhill and lose interest in me. She has been off them for two weeks ago but was only on them for one month. Has anyone else lost the plot so badly after only one month. Is there any hope for us?

Cheers Even More Desperate Boyfriend

I had 2 stints put in Mar2000. Arterial blockage 90%. Took Lipitor for 2 months.
Felt worse than before heart attack. Discontinued Lipitor. Feb. 2004 still no
improvements. Muscle pain, weakness, spasms, buzzing in right leg. Cant hold
arms or head up in vertical postion for 2 minutes without extreme pain and
weakness. Sitting or standing for 10 minutes is not possible due to back pain.
Have to keep moving until exhausted and then sleep. Use good diet and all the
exercise I can tolerate.I do NOT take any pain meds except aspirin or tylenol.
This is crazy. I walked home from the hospital after the stints and went
downhill after taking Lipitor. Any advice will be appreciated. thank You

I forget to add that Im 50/ male, took Lipitor at 46. I realize some symptoms can be caused by aging??LOL and try to discern the cause before I complain.

I have been on 20mg of Zocor for 18 months and have had a steady downhill spiral with reflux disease, depression, numbness, stiffness and tingling in toes, muscle cramps and shooting pains and trouble sleeping. After much research, I am begining to suspect the Zocor although my doctors don't want to hear it.

My husband and I are epileptics. We were put on mono-medication(only one medication instead of a multitude). A few years ago we were put on Felbatol.Everything was great! We were happy, and the parents of two boys.Along came that nasty side effect of aplastic anemia. Our neurologist took us off the felbatol and we went downhill with the multi-drugs again. We are thinking of taking the plunge and asking the dr again for the felbatol. We would love to hear from anyone out there.
