I have been taking SMZ/TMP since Monday evening for a UTI. I was also given some kind of red pill... I can't remember what is was called, made me sick to my stomach. I threw it away.
The SMZ/TMP is giving me the shakes, headache/neck pain, and body weakness. I have stairs in my house and walking downstairs has become increasingly difficult, even typing this is difficult as my shoulders, arms and hands are jittery, I am correcting a lot of typos.
I rarely take medications for anything... Except this time, I couldn't get away without it, the UTI was too painful. I only have a day and a half of dose left. I believe I will finish it, but it will definitely go on my list of medications that I can't take. I just hope it gets rid of this infection. This is the first UTI I have had since 1990. For the first one I just took some kind of amoxicillin. I don't remember feeling anything unusual when I took that particular medication.
Thanks

I had bacterial pneumonia a few weeks ago they gave me Levaquin as well, After the hospital I notice some pain in my left arm. A week later I was unable to straighten my arm now the pain has moved up to my neck and back and is slowly reaching my right shoulder. It seems that though you ask doctors question you never get answers and yes its true about this pain I have been in agony for almost a month now and can not find any type of relief. I was treated with a 7 day regimen of medication and I don't know what is worst the pneumonia or the pain. If there is any where to find relief as a natural source please post it
Thank you

My wife gave me her pills to help with my acne. The last 2 months they find me crying in a corner after lunch on the construction site. But it's not me, it's everyone else.. The other guys pick on me for having painfull pectoral muscles. My family isn't sympathetic because they say a real man shouldn't cry. I keep freaking out that my wife is pregnant - but that is in possible with my other side effects downstairs. I have to go now. Someone is after me.

After a couple of months on this drug, I have begun to experience a weird feeling while sleeping, especially on my side. It feels as though there are vibrations in my head which in my sleep I attribute to having left the washing machine on underneath me downstairs. Of course, this is an illusion. The experience wakes me up, then I feel my heart beating faster (maybe anxiety?). when I swallow a few times and turn over in bed, the feeling goes away, but it is very disconcerting.

My 8 year old boy was recently prescribed Singulair by his doctor, last summer he also put him on it for about a month, he developed a cough which would not go away right after being put on the medication, as soon as he stopped taking it, the cough seemed to disappear. When his doctor wanted to put him back on it I was a little surprised and I reminded him of what happened last year, he said it was a good medicine and being that he is a little older it would be fine. He has been on it for 6 days and my husband and I both have noticed that he has been very emotional and has had several episodes of crying, and acting out of sorts. He is normally a very laid back well behaved boy. I decided to look up the side effects and came across this website and could not believe what I was reading. Just this morning he came downstairs and told me that he had a terrible nightmare, and tonight he was complaining that his knees were hurting real bad, he is not a complaining type of kid, this is all that I need to see, we will deal with his viral asthma without singulair, I feel betrayed, I think that parents should be aware of these side effects, I thank god that he has only been on it for a few days.

I've been on Yaz for 1 year now. I've been in a deep depression since September ( 6 months on Yaz) for which I've had to seek treatment. It took 4 months to get me straightened out on medications and still daily I struggle with it.
Also I've noticed right shoulder pain, weight gain (60 pounds), no libido, chronic fatigue, bloating with horrible gas.Is all of this from the Yaz or is it my depression or what? I'm having a really hard time sorting thru all of this.

I saw my family doctor on September 24th for a chronic cough, daig. as bronchitis prescribed levaquin for 10 days (twice per day) with a second repeat if I was not feeling better, tonight I decided to search the side effects of this drug......I am shocked......I have suffered terribly for the past 15 days, gastro/intest issues, extreme gas, joint pain to the point of not being able to get off the toilet, so weak in the legs walking from downstairs to upstairs is totally exhausting. usually I tough things out but this drug is a killer. I am feeling much worst since being on it.
And to learn that it will take weeks vefire I am feeling better....ugh.

I have been prescribed Doxycycline 100mg twice daily for suspected Lyme disease. I have never experienced such strong side effects from taking an antibiotic before! The morning dose is the worst by far for me. It makes me feel incredibly nauseous and it makes me feel hot with stomach pains. I feel like being sick all the time for about 3-4 hours after taking it - I have tried lots of water and food but I still feel like crap! After about 4 hours I start to feel a little better then I feel like eating lots and lots!!! My body just seems to be swinging from feeling like I am dying to being very hungry hours later... I take the last pill about 10pm and stay downstairs for about a hour before I go to bed - strangely enough though I have never felt ill like I do in the morning and go to sleep ok. All very weird and I cant wait until I have finished taking this drug (14 day course and I am half way through)

My best-friend room-mate is downstairs now sleeping. He was perscribed this for an absess/possible staff infection, and have been having violent seizure like anxiety attacks. Two ER visits and still they don't know what it is. He shakes violently, and the only thing that will stop these attacks in xanax. I am positive these affects are being caused by this anti-biotic.

Have been taking for only 1 day (3 doses) and right before lunch, I started feeling like I had extremely low blood sugar. By the time I got downstairs and stood in line to get food, I felt shakier and shakier. As I rushed to sit down and eat something as fast as possible, my hands were shaking as if I had a nervous tick or Parkinson's.
After eating the shaking gradually subsided, however, I have been feeling weird pressure in my eyes as if my pupils are extremely dialated. And I am also feeling a little detatched from my surroundings and a little nervous.
I don't liike the way this medicine makes me feel at all! I am calling my doctor right away to switch meds.
This is scary stuff!!!! How long has this drug been out?! Thanks, FDA!

I have taken ambien only a few times a month for a year and it seemed to work most of the time. Last week at around 10 pm I had a small glass of wine, took a 5mg ambien then a hot bath. When I came downstairs I SAW DOUBLE OF EVERYTHING.My husband thought it might be a slight stroke and insisted I go to emergency. The doctor said ambien has many side effects and this was probably the cause even though it is not listed in their data sheet. The doctor did a catscan and it was ok. Everything cleared up in 2-3 hours.

I am so glad I found this site, and to know I am not alone. I took Yasmin in the spring and had very bad insomnia as well as moodiness that could be described more as ragefulness-- very testy, very easy to anger. I stopped taking it this summer. I started taking it again last week to see if perhaps the side effects I'd experienced were the result of other stress in my life. But no, it is definitely from Yasmin. Almost immediately, I experienced terrible insomnia, depression and anger that was worse than the first time around. Yesterday morning I screamed at our sweet 12-year-old dog for no good reason. Last night I couldn't sleep again and went downstairs in tears, told my husband I can't take it anymore. I don't feel like myself. I threw the Yasmin away this morning and I will NEVER TAKE IT AGAIN.
