I regularly chart my basal body temperature as a way of tracking my menstrual cycles. Prior to starting Neurontin, my cycles were very regular, though I had an abnormally short luteal phase. I've been taking Neurontin for a month now: 300 mg 3 times daily. Now my basal body temps change drastically from day to day instead of following the regular rise and fall pattern of my cycle, and my period is 4 days late so far. Have any other women experienced similar side effects?

i am a 37 female. i have been taking aviane for the past 3 months. i have the lap band also. since i have been taking the pill, i have had crazy mood swings. Mad and angry all the time. I have this constant desire to "go off" on everyone. Any and everything makes me angry. I have been very moody. I have wanted to stay off to myself and not be bothered by anyone at all- signs of depression. tired ALL the time. no energy.
Aviane has greatly increased my appetite. I have gained 4 pounds and feel so bloated all month long. beforehand, i was losing weight drastically. i should not be gaining weight at all. I asked my surgeaon was it okay to take aviane. he stated that it would cause drastic water retention. i hate that feeling and my clothes do not fit the same.
I usually get my period at the start of the last red week. I am scheduled to start a whole week later. no spotting. so i guess that is a good thing. I have decided after reading all the postings tonight and added research.. i am not taking the aviane anymore. the best bc for me was the IUD. a few cramps initially, no wieght gain and NO mood swings. it was great, but insurance failed to pay100% for IUD.

I am 19 years old and I recently was taken off of it 2 years ago when I switched doctors. Prior to the switch I had been on it for 16 years. I prob have some of the worse side effects. Because it causes an increase in appetite I ate but I didn't eat all the time, and I ended up gaining over 100lbs. I have a black-brown ring around my neck and for the longest time I thought it was dirt that wouldn't come off so sometimes I scrubed my neck sometimes to the point that it was raw.I have bad acne on my back and its just horrible.I cry every single night because of the side effects.I just want to know if anyone on here can help me.

I had my Mirena placed on July 18,2007. Instantly, I gained 20 lbs and was back at the weight I was when my daughter was born on May 2, 2007. My breast size has increased drastically. They were already large but know the size is so unbearable that I wear three sport bras at once for support because my regular underwire bra's hurt. My back hurts now. I get cramping often, and bled for three weeks so I'm not sure when my next period is due. I get really dizzy at times.I already have a history of postpartum depression but I feel so much worse. I can't stand the anxiety I feel....my medication doesn't seem to be covering the attacks which they did before. I'm not sure what to do. My therapist suggested getting the other IUD.

I started Yas about 4 months ago for excessive bleeding, cramping, pms symptoms and homonal imbalance. My Gyn said it would help with all these things. On my first couple months on the pill I thought it improved my mood swings, and my bleeding drastically decreased and I had almost no cramping. I did have a couple migraines and some nausea in the beginning. I have had a real problem with weight gain, cravings and bloating. I increased my exercise but can not seem to loose the weight I gained when I started Yas. I am 40 and this was never a problem for me before. For about the last six weeks, I have had depression and extreme irritability. I've also had brown spotting in between periods. I'm going to stop taking the Yas.

I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection six days ago and injected with Levauin, followed up by 500mg/day. The morning after the injection, my legs started aching as though I had run a marathon, particularly my shins, calves, ankles. Today, I woke up in more pain than before and am starting to notice knots in my shins. Every step is becoming more painful than the next, and I don't know how to fix this. I stopped taking Levaquin yesterday, but this problem keeps getting worse. Has anyone else had this experience, and when do the knots go away and the pain cease? Thanks for any info.

Well I never have been on birthcontrol so I didn't really know what to think of some of the symptoms. But about 30 minutes after taking my pill I start to feel drastically lethargic, useless, my head feels so heavy that it could fall over, and I feel like I coudl throw up at any moment. I have lost all of my sex drive, which isn't a good thing since I am about to get married. Acne hasn't gotten worse or better, it's still pretty normal. I just feel really week,a dn my head throbs I don't know what to do. I mean if I take pain Killers then it makes my nausea just that much worse. What can I do?

My local pharmacies have switched to dispensing only ProAir HFA inhalers in place of the usual albuterol inhalers by Warrick, per the new law concerning the ozone layer. Am experiencing severe breathing problems because of the switch. Was under cotrol with the old type for over ten years, it was a life-saver. The new type inhaler doesn't work for me. Even after adjusting to the slightly different feel and mastering a slightly different user technique, it fails to ease my breathing. Peak flow meter stays around 250. Why drastically alter a medication for non-medical reasons? I am reading on internet forums that I am not alone; thousands of users are having problems with the new HFA inhalers. I can't walk to the store now, I can't go up & down stairs, I can't carry on a sustained conversation. ???? I appeal to the powers that be to make our old inhalers available to us again. Let the marketplace decide which type to buy. This is a frightening failure and we need help.

I've tried taking just one pill as a daily vitamin supplement, and I found that I makes my mood drastically WORSE. I can go from calm and content to miserable and tearful instantly, and for little reason. I've done a bit of research on B complex vitamins, and think this might have something to do with it. The B complex amounts are ridiculously high. This can't be good or me!

I was on the patch for a year and a half. The only reason I stopped being on the patch was because my insurance got cancled.lol. But when I got new insurance I decided to get a different birth control because of all the negativity surrounding the patch. It was great for me though. No real side effects, it eased my Menstral cramps drastically to the point where I did not even need pain killers for the cramps! After a while the only other thing I began to not like about the patch is the fact that it was exterior...and because of the site on which I wore my patch (my buttocks) I thought it made my sexy lingerie pieces look a little off...sort off like a big band aid on the ass when I had on cute thong. But anyway I loved it for the most part. So ppl if you are on it and it does not really effect you and you like it then keep it!

I am a 25 year old female who has been on and off prednisone for 5 years for ulcerative colitis. The first time I was on it, I was taking 30 mg for about three months and then tapered down 5 mg a week until I was done. I have always been super thin and athletic and I gained about 20 lbs in 2 months. My face used to be very defined, but I lost my cheek bones and my chin. This is what they call moonface I guess. And I wanted to eat all the time, even when I was full. I had never had bad acne before either, but I had breakouts constantly. I also had more hair growth in places hair shouldn't grow like on my chin and my nipples. I got stretch marks all over my hips and stomach area because the prednisone apparently makes your dermis lose elasticity and that was combined with the weight gain. I also became very moody and depressed and part of it was because my physical appearance had drastically changed. The next few times I was on the pred, same amount, I learned from my mistakes and exercised constantly, watched my diet and drank more water. It helped but it's hard to fight the hunger pangs and you still get moody. If you can, try to use something other than pred. In my opinion, it's poison. I'm now off it for good and I'm taking another immunosuppresant called azothioprine and so far so good. Good bye prednisone...forever!

My dad had an anaphylactic reaction to avelox. Twenty minutes after taking the medication he became flushed and itchy. His face swelled. My dad is a physician and knew that he was having a reaction to the drug but did not know how severe it was. He had a nurse administer a depo medrol shot when in fact it should have been epinepherine. He ended up turning blue and passing out several times until oxygen could be administered. These events took place in his office. When he was in this state of shock, his collegues gave him an EKG and evidence of heart ischemia was recorded. His blood pressure dropped drastically. He was rushed to a hospital where they gave him benedryl and steroids. Thankfully he has recovered without any tissue damage to his heart or brain. Even though he had this reaction, he still feels that avelox is a great drug and that his reaction although extremely life threatening is rare. 1 in 30,000 people will develop this adverse reaction to avelox.

I am a 36 year old guy, i went to the doctor six weeks ago and had pretty high blood pressure, 200/100. She suggested I get on Lisonpril - 10 and Lipitor 20, metformin 1000. At the same time I started doing some research on the side effects of these drugs and they were pretty bad. I felt some of them mildly. But I did find a book, The Dash Diet for Hypertension Lower your Blood Pressure in 14 Days - without drugs by Thomas Moore, M.D. . I fallowed the suggestion and drastically changed the way I ate overnight. Cut out all bad food. I also cycle stationary bike for about 30 to 45 minutes. I added a lot one serving of oatmeal a day and cheerios every morning. It seemed to have done the trick for me. My blood pressure has come down as well as cholesterol to normal levels. The doc also agreed to lower my meds by half. So now 5 lisinopril and 10 lipitor. I am shooting for no meds in six months. I do still go out but go to places that serve a more natural selection. I hope this helps some of you out there.

I have been taking Zoloft for 4 years now, I had previously been on Prozac but experienced nightmares. I have had the dosage of the Zoloft increased 3 times and am currently at 100mg which I have been at for about a year. I am so glad I found this site, I too have the electrical shocks in my hear, slight tremors and tingling in my lips and left eye, but most disturbing is the gastric problems that have increase drastically in the last 2 months. After a CT, MRI and a gastroscope that found nothing I think I may have figures it out. It is a side effect of the Zoloft. I am not sure what I will do, I do not want to be depressed again.
Thank you so much for this website and for all of you who have posted.

I received four injections of kenalog into the spiny processes in my lower back on May 26th 2005. On waking from the procedure, my heart rate quickened, my blood pressure fell drastically, my oxygen saturation in my blood fell to 84%, and I was in and out of consciousness. Two hours later, I began vomiting, developed a migraine, and began having heart palpitations. I was admitted to the emergency department the following morning where I was diagnosed with UNCONTROLLED ATRIAL FIBRILLATION and had to be cardioverted twice to get my heart working correctly. I was on betablockers for my heart for 2 months and am fine today. Like other posters, I also had erratic and extended menstrual cycles for about 3 months post injection. At the time, I was a 32 year old, healthy female with no history of cardiac problems.

Hi - I have been on prednisone now for 4 weeks due to a rash from an allergic reaction to sulfa. I started on the paks of 6/5/4/3/2/1 which I was on twice. That didn't work so my dr increased me to 60 mg for 2 days/50 mg for days etc. That didn't work so now I'm on 40 mg for 4 days/ 30 mg for 4 days etc. I'm not feeling confident that this will work either. The only side effects I had until this last dosage was the excessive sweating, increased thirst and urinating. However since I started taking this last dosage of 40 mg for 4 days I have developed the "moon face" which is horrible and insomnia. I haven't slept in 4 days. When I do fall asleep I wake up with the sweats. Also my vision has started getting blurry at times too. This stuff is scary. My dr didn't tell me about any of this - I have learned it from reading the drug effects and this website. I appreciate knowing I'm not alone. I hate being on this drug but it when I'm on the higher dose it does stop my itching which is driving me crazy too. I have been having mood swings too but I'm not sure if that is the drug or just from the stress of all of this. If this dosage doesn't work I don't know what else they can do but I don't want to have to go back on Prednisone again. I'm afraid what side effects will happen next and I worry about the long-term effects too. And please tell me the moon face will go away after I stop Prednisone... Thanks for listening.

Yasmin has been hell for me. When I first took Yasmin, breakthrough bleeding has occured for 2 months (i expected this, and it is somewhat common). I always had migrane headaches without taking BC, but while on Yasmin i haven't experienced any less, or any less painful migrane headaches. About 4 months in, i start to feel pressure on my esophagus; at the time, I didn't think much of it. About halfway through the 4th month, I realize my eating habits have changed drastically. I feel full all the time, and unwilling to eat any food because of the pain and pressure i felt on my esophagus. Then it hit me, completely while i was on vacation. I was vomiting non-stop due to acid reflux, because nothing could go into my system, even water. Acid reflux has continued to effect my life while on Yasmin. I've gotten an Upper G.I done to only find irritation on my esophagus, which i believe is surely from taking Yasmin, because i've never had any other digestive problems before taking a BC pill. Now, i'm on Ortho-Tri cyclen lo, I've only been taking it for about 3 days though. At the moment I'm experiencing EXTREME migrane headaches, and this is what I assume is from withdraw, hopefully it will be gone for good when my body gets used to Ortho-lo.

My 13 year old daughter was diagonosed with asthma about 5-6 months ago. She was then prescribed singulair along with 250/50 Advair. Not even thinking about the meds being a problem my daughter has turned into a terror. The school has called a few times about behavior problems in school. Her grades are also dropping drastically. She has never had any kind of problems like this before. She is very angry, depressed, with many mood swings. I know that she is 13 but this is not normal. Her teacher reccommends she seek counseling as I agreed. Then I thought of this medication and wondered could this be the root of the problem? I called the doctor and he told me to take her off of singulair and see if I notice any difference in a week. It has only been 2 days so I guess we will see. This is really beginning to worry me. I want my daughter back.. If anyone has anything to share please email me at ****** Thanks, Cindi

Had surgury to remove ovary from endrometerosis then in about 5 yrs. had a laparascopy to remove endro again. I am 31 and the Insurance would not pay for complete removal of female organs to get rid of it once and for all. So doctor said Lupron Shots. I was on them for 3 months. It started out after 1st month with cravings leading to weight gain, severe headaches, being dizzy, breathing problems, THEN by the 3 1/2 month mark things changed drastically pain in foot couldn't walk traveled to my shoulder and arm thought I was having a heart attack so was ambulanced to hospital all test showed nothing. I could not walk was in a wheelchair and pain plus all the other effect above. Sent to a neurologist who told me some truthfull answers finally. SIDE EFFECTS LISTED FOR THE PHYSICIANS TO KNOW BUT NOT TOLD TO ME WERE ( PARALLISES AND COMPRESSION OF THE SPINAL CORD) I did not have my 4 th shot of Lupron and after a 2 more months and a lot of prayer from my church family God came thru and healed me I am up out of the wheelchair and walking as if none of this nightmare happened. I have to deal now with the excessive weight yet hopefully it will go too.

YES! I have also been dehydrated. I carry dry-eye drops with me everywhere I go. My eyes were painfully dry. I used to be a constant contact lens wearer, but not anymore. I have been off Yasmin for 5 months and am just starting to wear my contacts a few hours about every other day. My eye prescription actually changed quite drastically during this time as well. Stay away from caffeine and you should eventually be fine. I drink lots of water, green tea (no caffeine), and cranberry juice. It will get better.

I took Estrostep for 1 year and had many strange abdominal pains, dizziness, and major dental problems... I switched to Yasmin and it nearly killed me in 2 months. I had ALL the symptoms mentioned in previous messages on this page, along with many vision problems. I still have spotted vision (looks like floaters), one eye that keeps dilating in a stretched square shape, and my glasses prescription has changed DRASTICALLY every 3 months....just forget about wearing contacts. Contact lenses, which I used to wear all the time, now make me sick (dizzy, disoriented, dry eyes). I have been off of ALL birth control pills for 5 months. Yes, it is still very bad (panic attacks, sharp chest pains), but it is getting better. This website probably saved my life. My doctor still denies everything, although my optometrist has had one patient go through surgery for clots due to the pill, and another die from a stroke. I find it funny my optometrist could tell me more about the side effects than my gyn. I finally found a general practicioner that did report my symptoms to the FDA, and I gave him this website.
For all the men out there...my husband says to BE PATIENT. :)

By taking Yaz my estrogen level was lowered drastically which made sex extremely painful. I also had a horrible mood which I didn't attribute to the pill until I switched and saw a major improvement. I realize this won't effect everyone but if you are experiencing burning after sex, try switching BC to see if that helps...it did for me.
