I'm posting this for nikieis, who's husband has been having problems with the Sulfameth. The Doctor and the Walgreens Pharmacist that you spoke to made a mistake, rare side effects of Sulfameth are cold sores, persistent sore throat and fever. I'm surprised that the Walgreens Pharmacist made such a mistake because they usually are so efficient, and if a patient complains about a symptom they will look up in their computer to see the possible side effects - both common and rare. If you still have the Walgreens pick-up slip, it will have a drawing of the drug as well as a description so that there are no possible mistakes. Also, on the pick-up slip is a list which describes the drug, what its for, how to use the medicine, cautions, possible side effect, rare side effect and effect to contact you Doctor immediately for. I would also think that if the information is on the packing slip, that the Walgreens website would have all the possible side effects and cautions. so Patients can look them up if they want to be informed about the medication.
I hope that your husband has recovered and is feeling better.

I am 38, no kids. I am 1 week away from my 3rd Lupron shot for endo., diagnoised after lapro. I have the night sweats and hot flashes, extreme moodiness, mild pelvic pain, but the worst for me so far is the memory loss. I am literally drawing a blank on things.. this is scary. I find writing things down keeps me on track. No headaches or depression or muscle pain as of yet, hopefully none is coming. Thanks for hearing me out.

My mothers Dr. prescribed Levaquin a day before she was to have knee surgury. She put the surgury off though, because she wasn't feeling up to par. She noticed that the day after, she felt like her toes were drawing, and that her feet were numb. We will have to see how it goes for now. She only took one dose, as they gave it to her to try to get rid of any infection she had before her surgury. She said she had never felt that way before. I think that patients should be told of any side affects of meds before thd Dr. Prescribes them. My mother is a 76 year old woman with several health problems.

Have been taking niacin about 2 months with no side effects. I attributed this to taking an aspirin 1/2 hr. prior to taking the niacin. However, one evening I took the aspirin and niacin together. About 30 minutes later I felt a really hot flush starting in my face and traveling down my body, accompanied with a stinging sensation. I was red on my face, neck and arms. NOTE: SIDE EFFECT NO ONE ELSE HAS MENTIONED, AND I STILL DON'T KNOW FOR SURE THAT IT WAS THE NIACIN. AT THE SAME TIME AS ALL THE REST, MY LIPS AND FACE WENT NUMB, WITH SEVERE MUSCLE "DRAWING" ALL OVER MY FACE. I COULD VISIBLE WATCH THE MUSCLES DRAWING AND DISTORTING MY FACE. It was scary. After 15 minutes the flushing and stinging stopped; however, the numbness and muscle spasms in the face and lips took about an hour to return to normal. I prayed through the whole thing. Anyone experience anything like that?

I have been on Advair for 3 years or more. I started on 100/50, then went to 250/50. And after a while I had a terrible "burning" in my mouth. I had never associated it with the Advair. During a routine visit with my Pulmonary Dr. I mentioned that my mouth, throat and stomach had been burning very bad. He immediately said, "ADVAIR". I asked if he thought that Advair would do that. He replied, "I know it can". He told me to stop using it and he gave me a prescription for Nystatin. The yeast had gone through my mouth, throat and my stomach and intestines were burning too. However, after a few days I had to ask him to let me go back on the Advair because I was having a bad problem with my breathing. I am now on 100/50. I've had all the same problems that everyone else is talking about. I believe two people have mentioned the "foot cramps". Two of my toes will draw together and I have to pull them apart. I also have bad cramps in my legs. I mentioned the problems with my toes drawing together and nobody seems to believe me. I too have a problem with my weight. I keep wishing I could give up the Advair but I have COPD and use oxygen. I use Atrovent solution and Xopenex in my nebulizer in addition to the Advair. I wrote to the Company about all the "symptoms" I was having. They were very nice, listened to all my complaints and they did follow-up with a letter to my Dr. I'm sure they had heard my story before. But I wii have to say they were concerned and tried to be helpful.

OK... I'm not an expert, but I have been experiencing severe back pain on my left side for about a month now. I also happen to be a 30 year old male who has been taking Lipitor 10 mg. for the past year. Before taking Lipitor I did some looking around and saw some interesting information that caused me to be cautious, but I just put two and two together last night. Is it possible that the Lipitor is contributing to the back pain?
I've seen a Chiropractor... no relief, I've seen the Dr. and am on lots of pain meds. (Flexiril, Hydromorphone, and Ibuprofen) with no real relief. X-ray shows nothing, MRI is being scheduled. Does anyone have any advise?? My gut says that the Dr. will think I'm crazy for drawing the conclusion that this statin could be the cause of my pain.
I'm way too young to be living like I'm in my 90's... My activities have been limited and no one seems to have an answer!!!

I've been on Topamax (100 mg 2x per day) for 5 years as mono therapy for epilepsy. I switched over from Depakote which was a *nightmare* and it has been great, no seizures. I've had the pins and needles, diminished vocabulary and memory, and intermittent eye twitching but this week my right eye (why is it always the right eye?) has started twitching almost constantly. It is frightening and embarrassing and I am not sure what I should do.. I guess it's back to the neurological drawing for me because I am not sure why it's happening now. Has anyone else had the eye twitching occur after long term use?
