I am 43 yrs. old and have had 2 back surgeries and other procedures to help elevate my pain, but to no avail. I am now on 60 mg of oxycontin and dilaudid for pain which seem to be finally making a difference. And for some reason my doctor has put me on zanaflex also. I took one dose and I don't know if I wasn't to continue, last night was the first dose and I had a strange feeling as I was falling sleep that I was going to die!!! As I tried to wake myself up out of the drowsiness it subsided and I fell asleep. When I woke up I remembered having strange dreams about my mother and my brother both who has passed away in the past 2 1/2 years. I mean really bizarre dreams that make no sense. I believe it to be because of the zanaflex. Does anyone else have these problems??

I have been on a generic version of the drug for 2 days in order to stave off infection on several skin wounds I received after a bad fall. I am experiencing severe headaches and drowsiness (in addition to the terrible taste and smell with small belches). I am unable to stay awake for more than 10 minutes at a time. I'll definitely be discontinuing use of the drug.

Here's my horrible experience w/ Doxycycline Hyclate (100mg prescribed 2x day)
I only took 3 doses of this and vomited one of those.(there appeared to be blood in vomit) I was taking this for pelvic infection. I had severe nausea that came in waves. I also had severe drowsiness to the point that I could not lift my head up. I felt a sense of being "out of body" and extreme dizziness that almost made me feel like I was falling. I had confusion, disorientation, forgetfulness, and an inability to concentrate. I felt bone chilling cold, that alternated with sweating and hot flashes. My face, hands, and arms became puffy. I was very drowsy but could only sleep a couple hours due to insomnia. When I did sleep I had very weird and vivid dreams. I also felt a general sense of panic the day after I stopped taking it. This stuff was nasty and I will never take it again.

It is wonderful to have a forum like this to share stories and complaints but NOTHING WILL ACTUALLY BE DONE UNTIL REPORTED TO FDA. It takes many people reporting symptoms for Fda to even care or take notice. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP YOURSELF AND OTHERS BY REPORTING TO FDA. Go to www.fda.gov/medwatch. It is really simple to do and this is the first time I have ever reported anything. (and first time I had any major drug reaction). It is also confidential.

My experience on this drug after only 3 doses was very scary. I hope I will feel better soon. It is 1 1/2 days now after last dose. I will try to report back on here when I am feeling better. The half life for the med is about 18 hours, which means by tomorrow I will still have 25% left in my system. I am hoping after 2 more days I will feel back to normal. I have had as much water as I can tolerate and took dandelion root to help cleanse my liver. Take care everyone and remember to report any symptoms you had to the FDA at www.fda.gov/medwatch

I got off Diovan because of diminished energy, drowsiness, and all-around lack of ability to focus after several years on it. I didn't realize it was the Diovan until I got off it and got on a weight loss med: Phentermine. I felt like I was 20 again. But that was short-lived of course because you can only take that stuff for 90 days, max. Diovan was bad for me. Then the Doc prescribed Lisinopril and I was on that for a couple of months until a week ago. I'd been suffering with a dry cough for a week when I told the Doc about the side effect and I've been off Lisinopril for 7 days. The cough is still but slowly going away. Bouts of coughing are no longer every hour on the hour but about 2-3 times a day and still all night long. I'm off of any BP meds now and my BP is 150/90, same as it was on both Lisinopril and Diovan. Apparently it takes a while for the Lisinopril coughing spells to go away.

I have been taking Avelox for 6 days after being diagnosed with pneumonia. I have been feeling weak, fatigue and out of breath, also having occasional stomach pains and feeling drowsiness. Then on the 5th day of the medication, I've noticed red bumps were breaking out on my fingers, starting from my right thumbs, they are painful to touch. I have one more pill left and decide not to take it anymore. I should have researched more on this before taking.

I was put on Yasmin not for birth control but for the beginning of fertility treatments. I was on Yasmin only 1 months. After about 2 days I started getting symptoms. I called the Pharmacist and my fertility doctor and they both told me the pill wasn't the culprit. But after the 20th day I just couldn't take it anymore I went off of it. After starting Yasmin I had TERRIBLE Panic attacks, Anxiety ( still have to this day two months later), Heart Palpitations, leg cramps, boobs hurt, breathing trouble ( still to this day), HORRIBLE thoughts, adrenaline rushes all hours of the day, tingling in my hands and feet, my mind feels fuzzy, no appetite, no sex drive, depression, crying fits for hours, I felt like i was going insane.... You name it I had it. I stopped the pill two months ago and I still have the horrible anxiety/attacks, feel like i cant breath properly, OCD about my breathing.

I went to the hospital and got checked for blood clots in my lungs, legs, Asthma test, EKG, blood tested, was put on heart monitor all came back normal. I have started seeing a therapist, on depression meds and none of it is working. I feel like this pill has ruined my life and i wasn't even trying to stop life i was trying to help create it.

Here i am two months after stopping the pill and yes some of the stuff has went away but i still suffer with Anxiety from the time i wake up in the morning till the time I go to bed at night. And sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with anxiety. My head is getting a little clearer and I am not as depressed as before. But I am just praying that this anxiety goes away. I have NEVER been a person who can't handle stress or gets anxiety/panic attacks and since it started it hasn't stopped. I am so very weak, muscles ache so much which i think is from the anxiety attacks and the muscles tightening.

So if you have this... you are not alone! I am suffering with it everyday. It is so debilitating I cant do much. Has anyone else had this months after stopping Yasmin?

I have been on Effexor 75mg and at first experienced extreme drowsiness and extremely dilated pupils. However, after the third week these side effects subsided, and I switched from AM dosing to PM dosing which helps with the drowsiness. The one thing I did notice though is that, though my anxiety and depression are gone, I have seemed to develop a new habit, or not new, but whenever I go shopping, I end up spending a lot of money and I don't really worry about it or care. The first month I burned through my credit and still, although I know it's a problem, don't feel any anxiety over it. Before the anxiety would stop me from doing ridiculous spur of the moment spending or other silly decisions, but since I have been on effexor I seem to not care anymore. I do love this medication however, and have learned over the past few months that I need to monitor my decision making more closely, and not based solely on my emotions, since I am always happy and carefree. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been taking Keflex for a few days now and considering my job is driving i have been unable to attend work due to extreme drowsiness. This needs to be one of the main side affects it seems.

I think the hardest part - for me - was even to concieve the idea that Zyrtec has all of these side effects.

I've been taking Zyrtec on a daily basis for about 90- 110 days a year due to really bad allergies. We live in the NY area which produce alergans most of the year.

After trying almost every antihistamine, Zyrtec seemed at the time as the best drug since it handled the allergy while eliminating the drowsiness almost completely for me. Being happy that I was able to maintain normal life during allergy periods was almost a new concept for me and I was really grateful for finding this drug.

Unfortunately, being almost blinded by the allergy-fighting success, I neglected the attention to the side effects. I guess I'm falling into the unlucky 2%. I had almost every side effect: Irritation, mood swings, gaining weight, dry mouth - just name it.

Recently, my wife did some research because we got to the point where I would fight with her over anything. I can testify that my tolerance level hit the ground. Anyway, she got my attention for her research results which turned a red flag for me. In addition, this year my body seemed to not respond anymore to the drug and doing my own little research revealed that it is very likely that you need to rotate different drugs every few months.

So I decided to get off Zyrtec and switched to Benadryl Allergy which I take every 4-6 hours. Yes, it does make me drowsy for about 15-20 minutes but it works. What's more interesting is, I've been about 10 days off Zyrtec and I am shocked to realize that I'm slowly getting rid of all the side effects associated with Zyrtec.

That being said, I would like to emphasize that this was my own individual experience and it may not be the same for someone else. But it is pretty disappointing for me that i cannot use this drug anymore on a regular basis.

I took Zyprexa for 11 yrs always pleading with my psychiatrist to let me try something else. I had gained 90+ lbs with Zyprexa and slept about 12-14 hrs every day. Plus I just sat around watching TV all the time. No motivation. But it did stabilize me when it seemed nothing else could.

Two weeks ago my doctor changed me to Geodon. What a wonderful change! At least the first 12 days I had no problems and lost 7 lbs. My head is clear, I am hypomanic which is so much better than mired in drowsiness and trouble thinking. Now I have energy galore and feel maybe I can even return to work soon.

HOWEVER, the last two nights I just can't go to sleep. Night before last I tossed and turned for 2 hrs before I could sleep. Last night it was 4 hrs. I tried taking the Geodon (80mg) this morning instead of taking it tonight, hoping that would help the situation. But after taking it in the morning, I was in terrible shape. I couldn't seem to keep my mouth closed -- it kept falling open and I looked like an idiot. I couldn't concentrate to drive -- I know I ran at least one red light. Finally I just went home and slept for a couple of hours. Then I was fine.

Also I have light headaches and nausea off and on and totally no appetite. I like the appetite part but have had anorexia in the past so I have to be careful when I don't want to eat. Insomnia too, as I said. And hypomania. All in all, a trade up from Zyprexa, which I hated. I just hope I can manage the side effects enough to stick with it. I hope they will go away, but you never know about that. Zyprexa's side effects never went away.

My daughter has been taking Singulair for almost 2 years now. She's 71/2 years old now. It seems like she's very hard to wake in the mornings and complains that she's still sleepy despite 10 hours of sleep. Also she makes a very strange sound during the night like she's scratching her throat and complains of sore throat in the mornings. Has anyone else had this experience with Singulair? I want to take her off. Is it safe to stop this drug without weaning it?

My mouth went dry, and then there were bright lights. I swallowed hard but the bile was too bitter. I reached for my 9 and put a cap in my partner knowing that this was the end.

I haven't taken this drug yet I am about to go get it from the store and I do not know when to take this medication. Morning or night? I already have racing thoughts at night so I do not want to be more awake at night than I already am. I also suffer from a weight issue, is this medication going to help me loose or gain weight? I cant afford to gain a few, I can afford to loose a few. I also suffer from back pain now so I do not want that to increase. Anyone have any helpful tips for me?

Here's what I got. I got to urinate a little bit easier. I got headaches, fairly intense back aches, all day drowsiness, with inability to sleep upon retiring. I got a stuffy nose along with slightly blurred vision. My energy level and physical output were almost nonexistent and I have become "edgy" while getting annoyed easily.A complete feeling of being uncomfortable and feeling ill. In my opinion the side effects are not worth it.

So...
The Geodon seemed to make me too drowsy and I felt it was causing my sleep issue. I couldn't wake up in the morning. It was like I was still in REM while trying to wake. I could sleep until 12 noon and then realize I was late for work. Adderall barely seemed to help anymore.
After swearing off medications forever, I finally hit rock bottom realizing that my BiPolar had gotten the best of me. A DUI, WAY BAD CREDIT...I dug my self a hole of DEBT! My compulsive EVERYTHING had dug me a hole that thank God my Mother is still willing, after 22 years, is willing to help pull me out.
On my own, no psychiatrist involved, with my samples of Geodon and a prescription of Adderall provided by my primary care physician...I decided to go back on medication and so far...a week into it, I have noticed a significant difference...and so has others. Yes, I still might not want to wake up in the morning, but I am able to effectively work and actually somewhat enjoy doing it. I feel like I want to do things where as before...I just wanted to sleep or lay on the couch watching TV. I want to have a future and I want to better myself, where as before I wanted nothing but another drink and some pills. I feel that my quality of life has already improved and I hope with seeing my new psychiatrist on Tuesday, he might better my therapy.

Here is my current problem before asking my doctor.... hadn't taken any adderall for days. I took the Geodon at night, 60mg one day and 80mg the next thinking it might help with my sleep but it didn't do a thing. I Then the next day I took adderall around 7AM and 80mg of Geodon about 9PM and I couldn't keep my eyes open about 1-2 hours after taking the Geodon and I over-slept that morning and didn't wake up until after 10:30am when I am suppose to be at work at 9:00am.

Is it common for the extreme drowsiness to occur with the combination of Adderall in the morning and Geodon at night? I know before when I took both never missing either one, I was always extremely drowsy and that's one of the reasons I stopped taking meds. But after experiencing Geodon without adderall, I am wondering if the TWO don't mix well.

PLEASE HELP.

Isn't the daytime dose supposed to be non-drowsy? I get this feeling of uncontrollable drowsiness within 15 minutes of taking the dose. I've fallen asleep at work!! And even when I'm awake I still feel like I'm dreaming. For the few hours that this works on me, I feel like I'm in a fantasy world. Nothing feels very... secure? Odd, really.

It does, however, clear up my nose!

I started taking Levaquin for strep throat. I am 22 years old and it good health. I was supposed to take it for 5 days. During the 5 days my stomach felt a bit uneasy, but I was expecting that because i usually have a small stomach ache when taking anti-biotic. On the fourth day i ended up bed ridden. I woke up with severe diarrhea, and threw up. I attempted to go to work, but my symptoms got worse. I ended up in bed with severe stomach and body pain for the rest of the day not able to move or hold anything down. If i tried to drink or eat anything i either threw it up or had diarrhea. It was worse than the flu. I then looked up side effects of Levaquin and found the following: feeling restless or anxious; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain; headache, drowsiness, dizziness;sleep problems (insomnia). I fell under each of those categories. This drug is evil. They said keep taking it but consult with your Dr... yea right. I was DONE with it. I'd rather get strep again than go through that again! DON'T TAKE LEVAQUIN!

I received a Kenalog injection in December '06 to provide relief from an allergic reaction. My doctor did NOT inform me of any possible side effects other than drowsiness. Two months later a small dipple formed where the shot was given. I had no idea what it was and just assumed it was a part of getting older (I'm 30). When it began to get deeper, I became extremely worried. It has now been 6 months and the dimple has turned into a very large indentation. I still did not put two and two together and did not think it could have been caused by the steroid injuection. I visited my doctor, the same one who administered the shot in December, to find out what this could possibly be. He said he had no idea!! And even suggested it could be cancer!!!! I came home upset, obviously, thinking I was very sick, possibly even dying!! My sister did some research and found this site, and I am so relieved. But now I am angry at my doctor for not warning me of this possible side effect at the time of the shot AND then diagnosing it as a possible cancer!!! So now I am left with this deformity on my butt and a profound feeling of helplessness. Someone please tell me actions you have taken that have worked, both legally and physically. Will this go away?!?

I started taking Lisinopril for my bp about 2 1/2 months ago and even though it did lower my bp, I started having strange side-effects. It started out with drowsiness throughout the day, no matter how much sleep I got. And, waking up feeling drowsy even after 8-10 hours of sleep. Then, I started getting strange aches and pains throughout my body, like I was getting over a stomach flu. My asthma also flared up and I started having to use my inhaler for the first time in almost 15 years (usually I just need it after exercise.) The side-effects continued to get worse over the next months with increased fatigue, drowsiness, coughing, anxiety, muscle aches, poor concentration, feeling like my nerves were "shot," headache, weakness, tightness in my lungs, numbness in my hands and feet, and just plain feeling bad.
I made an appointment to see my doctor because I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. It crossed my mind that I might be feeling this way because of the Lisinopril. I stumbled across this website and after reading everyone's testimonials, I decided to stop the Lisinopril. I haven't taken it in 3 1/2 days, and I am already feeling much better. I would rather try a more holistic approach to lowering my bp then taking Lisinopril.
I hope this helps someone else out there who might be going through the same thing.

Hello,
I started taking Effexor about 4 weeks ago for social anxiety disorder. Initially I experienced some side effects such as dry mouth, trembling, feeling light headed, nausea and drowsiness. These side effects diminished and my doctor increased my dose to 75 mg, I then experienced other side effects for example very vivid dreams like watching a movie played out before me which was kind of interesting until I had a very vivid and disturbing nightmare. I also experienced weightloss. Currently I am having trouble sleeping which causes me to feel very tired in the day, and have been troubled by mild depression which I'm trying to conquer. On the positive side, i find that I'm not as anxious as I used to be however I'm a long way from complete recovery. It takes about 12 weeks to feel the full effect of the treatment and I am impatient to be rid of this horrible anxiety disorder. I'm happy to be on Effexor and can tolerate the side effects, they are nothing compared to what it's like to live with social anxiety disorder and insignificant in comparison to enduring the pain of depression.
