Thank you so much for each and every one of you posting this information! Thank God I found you. I have been taking Wellbutrin SR (generic Sandoz) 100mg/2 times a day for almost 3 weeks. I, too, have had chest pains that stay for a couple minutes then just disappear. A little into the second week came the forgetfulness. I even had to ask my husband what my cell phone number was! Names of people, actors whose names I know, and lyrics to songs and lines of poems are all evading me. But just as I approached the third week, my palms and wrists have started itching like mad. It lasts for a while then completely disappears. This is also happening with my head, on the scalp, around the hairline, in the corners of my eyes, and yesterday in the genital area. When I woke yesterday, I took a shower. By the end, my palms and the soles of my feet felt hot like they were sunburned and itchy. I wondered if I had some rash or athlete's foot. But my hands? A systemic fungal infection? As luck would have it I had a doctor's appointment that morning and told her about it. No mention of this as a possible side effect from Wellbutrin! None! She mentioned that it could just be dry skin, to which I said, no, I know what dry skin is like, this is not just dry skin. She said to take Benadryl (Boo, a cover up for the symptom - I don't believe in taking another drug to take care of another drug's side effects. What the hell!). I then asked her if anything I was taking might cause this to occur. I can't remember exactly what she said (Thanks for nothing, Wellbutrin.); something about taking Benadryl, going to a dermatologist who, if he/she could confirm it was a drug allergy, we would have to start all over again from scratch re my mood (and a new regimen with a new drug). The itchiness continued intermittently through the day. As the evening approached, and a couple of hours before my evening dose, my hands started having hot spots (and my hands were cold to the touch), my fingers started to swell with pains and a strange sensation in several of them. I became very worried, thinking I might need to go to an emergency room on New Year's Eve. I did not take my evening dose and eventually things calmed down. I am going to take only 100mg a day (one dose in the morning) and see how I feel and contact the doctor tomorrow.

I think it is ROTTEN that these side effects are not well expressed in the literature that comes with the drug! Look at these symptoms on this page alone; they are from six years ago! How did this pass the FDA??

I do know that this drug is hard on one's liver. But I was never given a liver panel before taking it. Rashes can be a sign of toxic, overloaded liver. I'm getting off of this. And I'm pissed that I'm the one that has to do the research on the internet to find out what's really going on. I thank you all for sharing and helping to educate us all.

My symptoms are much like others described. I was prescribed Bactrim for a recurring UTI. I have never taken it before and have never been aware of any drug allergy. I took the Bactrim two times a day for five days. On the fifth day I began to develop a fever, with very cold chills, then very hot. The lymph nodes in my neck and the back of my head swelled up that evening and were painful when pressed. The next day I stayed home from work and my temp was up to 100.1. By evening that second day, I had developed rashes on my elbows and feet. They were itchy and raised. The next morning, which is today, the rash has spread to my shoulders, arms and thighs. It is not raised, but is a mass of small red dots. My face is also very red, and I think that my lips feel swollen. It has been good to read here that these are likely the result of the Bactrim. Much better info here than I got by calling the pharmacist! The only reason I looked in to it being a reaction is that my mother in law has had allergies to sulpha drugs, and has mentioned rashes. I agree that it is also interesting to here that it has happened to others either after the prescription had finished, or right around that 5 or 6 day mark.

I've developed a rash all over my torso and even down my legs. Also extremely tired at times. I thought all was well for 9 months but at times I feel extremely tired with vision problems.

I've been reading a bunch of these posts because my Dr just prescribed Singulair for me. Don't think I will be taking it, unless we can find a way for me to use the purest one, which is the one they give infants.
When the companies do the testing, it's on the active ingredient - the drug itself. And it may have limited side effects. But the inert ingredients that are added can cause a great deal of grief. Many of you have described symptoms that sound like classic reactions to all of the phenol related chemicals in the inert ingredients: the heart palpitations, inability to sleep, increased pain and more. (And that would be why I won't be taking it) There IS a test to check for sensitivity to phenol but hardly any allergists or other Dr's know about it or check for it. Until physicians test for these inert ingredients, people will get sick from what are probably safe enough basic drugs. Unless something has changed this year, (I haven't checked on it lately), there is not even a national database for the pharmacist to use to check for the INERT ingredients. So when they are checking for a potential drug allergy.drug reaction, they are only checking on the active ingredient, not the inerts. I probably need to start campaigning for such a database. LDR

I was prescribed augmentin for an infected cut on my ankle. I took it for 5 days before I started getting some seasonal rhinitis pain. Doctor said I had a sinus infection and switched me from augmentin to bactrim, and also prescribed me flonase for the non-allergic rhinitis. I took 2 bactrim before I noticed drug allergy symptoms. I developed a very itchy rash on hands and feet (worst on wrists and back of ankles). The rash appeared on itching, puffed up for a bit and dissipated to pink/red marks (slightly less itchy).
I also noticed welts (skin bumps) in the soft tissue of the web of each hand and on the inside of each foot above the arch. These are slightly tender. I called the a consulting nurse as soon as the rash started and she said to immediately take a benedryl to keep things from getting worse. It helped a little that night. Went to the doctor and was prescibed hydroxyzine which is like benedryl but stronger and helps with itching. Rash lasted almost 3 days, was worst second day, then dissipated. Welts on hands and feet have persisted for the last few days. Having general aches and phantom prickles in hands and feet, must be healing from the rash.

Doctor thinks this was all delayed reaction to augmentin. I think this was immediate reaction to bactrim. Pharmacists seem to think bactrim too.

Whichever caused it, I have stopped both and only continue on the flonase which seems to help with the sinus issues.

I haven't heard of anyone having the same kind of soft tissue welting/swelling between the thumb and forefinger. Has anyone experienced this with a rash caused by allegic reaction to antibiotics?

In the past few years of taking Singulair I have experienced...

Increased Heart Rate (tacycardic even at rest)
Horrible Vivid Dreams
Dry Mouth
Forgetful at times (losing words mid-sentence or can't remember why I entered a room or what I was doing)

I have not taken it the past two nights. Yesterday at the gym my heart rate was 10 beats lower doing the same excercise regiment I always do at the same pace.

How can this information not be required to be reported as side effects when so many people are having them.

Was put on Intravenious prednisone for a severe allergic reaction on June 12th. Was in the hospital for five days. dosage was 20mg twice a day. Been on that for three weeks. Now weaning off 10mg twice a day for 7 days, then 10mg once a day for 7days and 5 mg a day for 7 days. Side effects have been moon face, puffy eyes, bloated stomach, leg cramps, tingling legs ,arms and hands. Headache and neck pain.insomina. I look in the mirror and don't know the person I'm looking at. The medicine worked to stop the severe reaction I had , a rash the entire body, face neck etc. Throat closed up due to drug allergy to zocor. The side effects are terrible, it totally changes your body functions and after reading these post , It is scary to think the negative side effects it poses. I hope out there , they may be an alternative drug available with less side effects in the future for eveyone who needs this for whatever disease they have. I wish all of you the best and hope that your symptons will get better in time as you wean off .
