Dry flaky skin symptoms and conditions

I forgot to mention that I also had dry, flaky skin patches and the palms of my hands & sides of my fingers itched like crazy for days and days. They would have large red patches, and wearing jewelry would make it worse. Sometimes the patches would have some hives, sometimes they didn't. But the one thing that stands out in my mind is the itchy hands- it was really strange but I noticed some other people had the same symptom.

I AM A 55 YR YOUNG WOMAN. I AM VERY ACTIVE , FIT , AND LOOK
1O YRS YOUNGER THAN MY AGE. I DECIDED TO GO ON ZOCOR 5 MG
BECAUSE MY CHOLESTEROL WAS 250. I WAS CONCERNED AND THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE THE RIGHT DECISION. I HAVE HAD DRY FLAKY SKIN ON MY FACE AND GET VERY DIZZY. I HAVE DIFFICULTY
ALSO WITH BLURRY VISION. IF THESE ARE THE SYSTOMS I AM WILLING TO GO BACK TO THE HIGHER CHOLESTEROL AND DEAL WITH IT. GLAD TO HEAR ABOUT ALL THE OTHERS WHO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS MEDICATION AS WELL. NO MORE ZOCOR FOR ME!!!

Does no one have a great number of side effects form Alesse? My doctor switched me to Yasmin (which I haven't yet started because I had a few packs of Alesse remaining) because I complained about moodiness/crankiness that is so sudden and abrupt that I just know it has to be hormonal).

After researching Yasmin, I see that many people have sooo many complaints about it, yet they are the same complaints that I have with Alesse (which I hadn't realized it was causing until I made the connection with the other BCP). i.e, leg/arm numbness, extremely dry flaky skin, severe mood swings, tiredness, gas, heartburn, sleeplessness, the list goes on and on and if you look under the Yasmin board it will list just about everything I have trouble with on Alesse.

Is everyone REALLY all that happy with Alesse?

I am going to try Yasmin. I am basically only on BCP to regulate my periods (which can be very heavy and very unpredictable) so I will go off of it if I continue to have such horrific symptoms.

I've been on Yasmin for 6 months. At first I thought I would get used to the moodiness and the dry flaky skin. Then my appetite increased a lot! I was once an active person who took an interest in physical fitness. Since being on Yasmin I have gained about 10 lbs. and have no interst to move any more. When I have time off all I want to do is watch T.V. or cry to hallmark commercials. My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts and the pressure on my stomach is unbearable sometimes. I am going off Yasmin today and going to try to find something that fits.

I'm 29... My doctor prescribed Advair 250/50 after I had a difficult case of bronchitis that left me short of breath for some time after. I used the Diskus properly and rinsed well after each use, but still had problems with mouth ulcers and laryngitis. I also experienced:

Tightness in my chest

Severe heartburn & acid reflux (which I've never had before)

Dry, flaky skin as well as periods of severe acne

Muscle & joint pain

Jaw pain & tooth sensitivity

Menstrual disruption (My first period on Advair was very short and light. Then it stopped altogether. I've been off Advair for over a month and am still in this menopause state.)
