I had to have my appendix removed -- told them before surgery that I had very bad chronic acid reflux, so I guess that's why the surgeon wrote orders for them to give me Reglan right after the surgery -- he did not specify for how long, and they kept giving it to me every four hours for the next day or so. Within 24 hours, I had terrible nausea causing violent dry heaves (there was nothing to throw up because I hadn't eaten anything for the previous 24 hours. When I did try a few sips of water or broth, I would immediately vomit that back up). I was dry heaving so hard and so continuously I was afraid I was going to break my stitches from the appendectomy. Also had extreme shortness of breath, like I was having an anxiety attack, extreme stiffness/pain in my neck and head mucles, like the back of my neck and my head were being crushed in a giant vise grip. Felt very dissociated and had trouble focusing my eyes and focusing my attention on anything. .
If I laid down to try to rest, the shortness of breath would get worse -- would feel like I was suffocating. So then I would get up and walk around a little to try to breathe better, and the violent dry heaves would start again until I was so exhausted from them I would try to lay down again to rest a little. Then the shortness of breath would start up again, and I would have to stand up . . . I went round and round like that for a solid 24 hours, no sleep, until the surgeon showed up for his rounds and decided I might be having a reaction to the Reglan, that he hadn't intended for them to keep me on it for that long. They took me off the Reglan, then the surgeon and my regular MD called in a neurologist who prescribed Flexaril for the neck stiffness and Phenergan for the nausea, instead of the Zofran they had been giving me, which wasn't helping.
Within 30 minutes of my first doses of Phenergan and Flexaril (and I had been off the Reglan for about 3-4 hours by then), I was sleeping like a baby, and continued to rest comfortably throughout the night, and was able to go home the next day with prescriptions for Phenergan, Lortab, and Flexaril. I will never, NEVER allow anyone to give me Reglan again -- I seiously felt like I was dying, and it scared the h*ll out of both my husband and me, because I am not the "sickly" type at all, The entire episode was a nightmare, and I am convinced it was directly related to the Reglan.

I have only been on the nuva ring for a week now but ever since the second day i had it in i have been feeling groggy like i don't want to do anything but sleep, i've been getting cramps, headaches, backaches, nasua and dry heaving like i've never expirenced. the pill made me have irregular periods, the shot i was scared of because i never had any period at all, so i thought the ring would be the best solution. do you think this has anything to with with my sensitivity to medicine dosages or the sore throat i seemed to get out of nowhere?

Also if i forget to take it one night and i take it the next morning the day after that i'm extremely emotional. Is this normal?

My friend says my personality has changed, but i haven't noticed anything really.. cause for concern?

My husband had stomach surgery 3 weeks ago and 6 days ago developed an infection and was prescribed Levaquin for 5 days. On the second day of taking it, he began to not be able to eat anything, then he couldn't tolerate water and went into retching fits. He is now inthe hospital being fed intraveneously. Has anyone heard of this side effect -- dry heaving, or inability to sip or drink or eat anything? He took his last dose yesterday.

Biaxin is by far the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I was presecribed it two days ago for a sinus infection and bacterial pneumonia. My heart beats extremely fast at night and it is impossible to sleep. I woke up this morning to violent dry heaving, while ever bite of food is a struggle to keep down. I have been sick for 3 weeks prior to this, and I can honestly say that Biaxin has made me feel so much worse. It really makes me feel like I am dying.

I cannot believe this medicine is still being given!! I am taking it for an infection. This is my 5th day on this medication because after extreme nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, metallic taste in my mouth, and a mild headache, I was told by the doctor's office that I should finish this medication, and that it would get better. I don't know why I listened, I will be stopping today. I actually did get better for about 2 days and now all the symptoms are back with a vengeance. I felt very sick last night after I took it and this morning even worse with extreme nausea and dry heaving. I never cry and I cant stop crying now-for no reason at all I am extremely emotional. I would much rather be naturally sick like I was before than feel like this, I am a wreck.

I am 24 years old and was on Yasmin for two months. I have had negative experiences with BCPs in the past (tried Mircette, Alesse, Ortho-Tri, Desogen) but nothing was as bad as my experience with Yasmin. I stopped taking Yasmin almost two months ago d/t experiencing the listed side effects:
-severe anxiety attacks
-depression
-crazy mood swings (I cry for no reason at all sometimes)
-joint aches
-weight gain
-blurred vision
-diarrhea
-nausea/dry heaving
-paranoia
-dizzy spells
-constant worrying and self doubt
-headaches
and there's more...
After being off Yasmin for almost two months, I expected things to be back to normal, but I'm not quite there yet. I still experience anxiety attacks, depression, mood swings, nausea, and this strange sense of self doubt. I have never felt this bad in my entire life and I totally regret taking this pill. I want to be my old self again and feel normal because this sucks and it has caused a strain on my ability to do my job as well as a strain on my personal relationships with my boyfriend and friends. E-mail me if any of you are experiencing the same side effects (especially the anxiey, depression, and mood swings) so I know I'm not just going crazy for no reason. Best wishes to you all.

This webpage is a Godsend! I thought I had diabetes, chronic daily headache, stomach ulcers or was just a crazy hypochondriac. I thought the symptoms would cease after 3 months but it's 9 months now and the "dry heaving" is still horrible, not to mention the upset stomach all day. I thought I was losing it. I've had:
1. 0 sex drive
2. Vaginal dryness
3. MOnthly yeast infections (prior to this I only have had 4 in my life.
4. Migraine - the 1st one in 18 years + near daily headaches
5. Painful boobs
6. Hyperpigmentation spots on my face
7. Dry heaving and nausea
8. Sugar cravings & increased appetite AFTER my period
9. The 1st few months I bled like I had been shot!
10.Dizziness
11.COnstipation
It's been awful. Anyone else going through this, I empathize with you completely b/c I thought I was a big complainer with all of this in my head. The 2 good things have been that I haven't gained weight and don't get water retention anymore, but it's not enough to stay on it. I've run the gamut with OC's and don't know what else to take other than risk pregnancy by taking nothing. Good luck to all of you.
