After being on NR for about 2 years, 2 weeks ago I stopped using it because I lost my job/insurance and didn't have means to get another Rx at the time. I was pleased with it until I stopped using it. I had been in a 3 year relationship that ended about a year ago for many reasons but, a large one being my lack of interest in sex or even having him touch me. I didn't think anything of it other than I must not have been attracted to him anymore. I am in a new relationship with someone I adore and still... really had no desire to have sex. Seemed I had to have a few cocktails before anything would ever happen and even then I would never orgasm and it would be painful due to lack of lubrication. I began to think I just wasn't meant to enjoy or want sex (even questioned my sexuality) Low and behold its been about 2 weeks since I stopped NR and I can't keep my hands off him. I've had an orgasm every time since and we are having or at least I'm wanting sex daily if not more. It seems my mind is in the gutter all day and it feels wonderful to know that I am not destined for a life without great sex and that the whole time it was just my stupid birth control.
There have also been other things I've noticed and am relating after reading everyone elses problems. I would get frequent headaches (3-5 weekly) they have seemed to subside. I would get painful cramping but, just assumed it was due to PMS. I have a small patch of hair missing on the side of my head... I had no idea why that was missing and now I am hoping that it will grow back. I too was also "down in the dumps" wouldn't say depressed but the last year or so I have frequent mood swings... those have also seemed to subside. All of these things were tolerable except my non-existent sex drive THAT IS NOT OK!!
I will not be refilling my Rx for NR and will try something else hopefully with a greater success story. It is worth a try if you haven't had it but, BEWARE and BE CONSCIENCE of your body. If I would have put 2 and 2 together I would have been off it long ago.
Thanks for this site and thanks for reading.

I've taken Estrostep for at least 7 years now, and I thought I have been symptom free until just recently I started to question some unusual symptoms and if they were caused from my birth control. I've had terrible bloating and constipation for the past year and I am thinking I might have a bad reaction to eating wheat, but I've never gone off the pill since I was 14 so I don't know. Also I find it IMPOSSIBLE to lose weight. I am a very serious triathlete and I train 12 hours a week, two to three times a day most days and cannot lose even 5 pounds with a perfectly clean low calorie diet. My sex drive is completely in the dumps and has been for years. It causes a lot of problems with my boyfriend and I but I'm afraid to stop taking the pill to see. I've tried Junel Fe and ortho tri-cyclen and felt that each made me gain at least 15 pounds with no diet change.

I went to this web site because I want to help my wife. She's been on Jolessa for 8 weeks now. As of this week, her heart has been "fluttering" for lack of a better word. She went to the ER room and they said basically that nothing's wrong with her but she is experiencing premature ventricular contractions (PVC's) which are not dangerous (according to the doctors). She asked the doc's if she should stop taking Jolessa and of course they said,"no."
We're wondering if anyone else is experiencing this feeling with this junk? My wife is 38 years old, healthy, never had heart problems or disorders. As of the past few weeks though, she's been feeling down in the dumps, sluggish and has a slight mode change.
If anyone is experiencing a change in heart rhythm, since taking Jolessa, please post it here. Thank you.

Had Mirena fitted 7th Feb 2008 and having it taken out on 12th June 2008. My stomach is huge despite eating sensibly and exercising. Also suffer from cramps on a daily basis, craved chocolate and have felt down in the dumps!! Can anyone tell me if having it taken out is as painful as insertion and will I bleed as much as when it was fitted. Am very nervous about the whole procedure.
Many thanks

I have just finished 2 months on Femcon FE. In the first month I experienced alot of acne and noticed I was more sensitive and emotional than normal. I am currently on vacation and unable to enjoy this time. I have been sad, emotional and easily worried (basically freaking out and having crying fits). I started my period 4 days ago and have been very depressed and down in the dumps which is not normal for me. I had no idea why I was feeling this way and a friend suggested I research my BCP.I have found some comfort in knowing other people have experienced these types of mood changes also while being on Femcon FE. I have also been extremely nauseous and haven't been able to eat anything. I have decided not to start my next pack this sunday and hopefully will feel better...

Our daughter has been on Singulair for four years that we can recall and are in the process of obtaining medical records to find out for sure.
She was diagnosed with A.D.H.D. when she was first starting school and allergies in the first grade. She was on liquid Claritan-D up until she started Singulair (4 or 5 Yrs ago).
Since she began taking the Singulair along with her A.D.H.D. meds. she has become very depressed, anxious, and sometimes extremely angry for no apparent reason.
Her elementary school career thus far has pretty much been a total waste because she does not pay attention or is outright defiant. And She has started stealing from other students.
We elected to try natural treatment for the A.D.H.D. with limited success and now we know why! The Singulair is counteracting the treatment! I would bet my last dollar that she will improve without the continued use of Singulair!
Before she started taking the Singulair she was always an outgoing kid that loved life unconditionally and now she is always down in the dumps and struggles through the school day and it is putting pressure on us as parents because the school gives her detention for not completing work or acting out in class etc.
She frequently complains of tummy aches and headaches or joint pain.
I feel really horrified as a parent because I argued with her just this morning and made her take the Singulair before school!
Even if taking her off this med. changes her future it won't erase the memories of her childhood school years that should have been some of the happiest times in her life and are now just painful ones she will try to forget!
We all need to find other parents in our own towns and get together a group and contact a lawyers office and file class action suits against the monsters who created this mess!

I am 42 years old and got the Mirena 3 months after my daughter was born.I have had it for 6 months now and am still waiting for my periods to stop. I had continuous spotting for the first 4 months and now I have spotting for 14 days a month. I have absolutely no sex drive, when my husband and I do have sex it hurts and I am terribly dry. I have back cramps quite a bit and my hair is falling out like crazy. I have been moody, down in the dumps and tired (which are not common for me) I thought it was post partum depression. I went on the Mirena website many times and didn't find any of these side effects posted. I thought they might be the result of having a baby in November, however, since I found this website and all these postings are similar to how I feel I believe this could be from the Mirena.
