I was on doxycycline for three weeks because the doctor believed I had Lyme disease due to the slight headache, mild fever, and aching joints that I was experiencing. I was fine for the first few days, but then I began to develop some unusual symptoms. The symptoms fluctuated day to day, but I was never free from one or more of these symptoms: severe headache, chills, night sweats, tingling in my arms, weakness in my legs, ear ache, numbness in my face (especially my eyes and lips), anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain in my eyes, and neck, and stiffness in my jaw. At the end of three weeks, I seemed to have more Lyme symptoms than before I began the medication. My Lyme test was negative, but with my continuing symptoms my doctor recommended that I take the medicine for ten more days, and retest for Lyme. The first day back on the medicine I was sicker than ever. I waited it out because the doctor insisted that it was the best thing to do. I finished the medicine, and the effects were less intense. My second Lyme test was negative. I am being tested for Fifth's disease (my son was ill with it just as I began to experience my swelling joints - a condition that can not be treated, uggh). I seem to get worse if I don't drink all day and night - a lot of water is needed, all the time. The effects also increase when I go to bed, recline on the couch, allow myself to become nervous about my condition, or over work myself through the day. I was at the pediatrician with my son yesterday, and mentioned my problem, wondering how long it could take to get the medicine out of my system. She told me it could be as long as a few months. It's been two weeks since I took my last pill.

Started taking 20 mg prednisone today for a bout of inflammation in my jaw and ear. I felt great when I first took the pill but now 7 hours later I am having terrible aches and pains in my hips, legs and shoulders. I am trying not to think that everything that can go wrong will go wrong but I feel worse than the ear ache I started with. Has anyone experienced such quick aches?

My daughter is 5 years old and has been on Singular for almost a year. My daughter luckily has not had major mood swings but I did notice that she was starting to have nightmares at night. It was to the point where she would wake up crying and refusing to go back to sleep or get back in her bed. Everynight she started to have nightmares and not want to go to sleep. I took my daughter in to see the doctor about an ear ache and mentioned that she was having nightmares at night and thought it might be the Singular. My doctor said that she had several pediatric patiences who were experiencing the same problems. She recommended that I switch it and give it to her in the morning. I am now afraid to give it to her at all with all the problems I am hearing about now. It's a no win situation because she needs it to control her asthma but I don't want my child to risk having suicidal thoughts.

Wow I can't believe what I have been reading. I have had Asthma, chronic hives and alergic dermatitis on my hands. Have been taking, for years, puffers and Reactine daily. My doctor put me one singulair for the second time, the first time being 8 years ago but I could'nt remember why I stoped until the first night of trying the medication again. With in a hour my face felt like I was in a sauna.I could'nt sleep because the air coming from my nose was burning hot. I also felt tired the next day and cranky. I took it the second day on the advice of my pharmacist. He said to keep going for a week to see if this side effect subsides. He had never heard of this side effect but since it happened twice it could not be coincidence. So I took it the second day, the burning was worse and lasted all day. going from my nose to behind my eyes. I was also feeling depressed and tired. i stoped taking the pill last night. today I am feeling a little burning at times when I am anxious and an ear ache. Even though In just two days I could feel a difference with my breathing and hives, side effects are not worth it I am staying off singulair and going to my doctor again

I've been off and on Advair for two years. I'll take myself off of it cause I don't like what it does but then the asthma goes nuts. So far I've been on this for three days - 2 doses per day of the 250/50. Massive joint pain like I have the flu, dizzy, ear-ache, nausea, sore-throat, hoarsness, headache, lethargy. I am also on Zyrtec every day 1 pill to control post-nasal sinus drip which kicks off an asthma attack. One more note. I moved to Massachusetts 6 years ago from Alabama. I had two sinus problems a year in Bama - bronchitis type stuff and that was it. I was diagnosed with Asthma 2 years after moving to Massachusetts.

Have been taking for over a year. When I ran out a month ago I got the worst ear ache of my life. My sinus' blocked up and busted my ear drums. I have never experienced pain like that in my life. I take just once a morning. 600/120 type pills. I sleep on the average 9 hours a night. I'm now truly scared to go without it. My pharmasist said not to take it on the day of my upcoming marathon in June due to possibility of heart rate issues. She didn't mention anything about dehydration. I'll be taking it the very next day.

I have been taking wellburtin xl for 3 weeks and have experienced the dizziness, confusion, and head pressure, but I am most concerned about when my left ear sorta popped and there was horrible pain raditating from my ear. It took a few days for the pain to subside, but now it feels like an ear ache and it hurts to chew on that side of my mouth. I did not read all the entries, but has anyone experienced this? thanks

I have had several symptoms of the flu this season. I have also made several trips to the doctor. This last visit I was given Methylpred for fluid in my ears. I have to admit when I read the side effects it made me wonder what would happen to me. The first day I had to take all 6 pills within a 6 hour period. I slept like a baby that night. I didn't have the ear ache and I felt like a million dollars the next day. I have more energy than I have had in months. I hope that after I get finishd with the package that I continue to feel good. I am sure that my family and friends are glad that I am feeling better. Advise to others, don't be afraid to let this medicine help you.

I was prescribed Levaquin (500mg x 10 days) for bronchitis and ear infection. I'd already taken heavy regimen of Augmentin a few weeks prior, but my symptoms only abated temporarily and then returned 'full force'. My case is a little different from the typical poster, as I was not ignorant of the possible nasty s/e of this drug. In fact, when the Levoquan was first prescribed for me, I read this message board (among others) and was scared enough by what I read that didn't start this medication right away. I went back to my MD to discuss my concerns; he acknowledged that some people do experience some bad side effects from this drug but indicated that these effects tend be pretty rare and didn't think I would have a problem - given my age (32) and otherwise good health.
After waiting a few days and debating whether to try this medicine, my upper respiratory infection worsened and my ear pain became so tormenting that I finally decided it was worth the risk to at least try Levaquin...hoping I'd be one of the lucky one who experienced few, if any, side effects.
After taking the first pill yesterday, everything seemed fine for several hours. In fact, I almost immediately noticed improvement of my URI and ear ache. However, last night before bed I noticed that both of my knees felt swollen and walking felt uncomfortable. I also noticed an audible "clicking" sound in my knee joint when using stairs. Today, I called my MD to report my symptoms. My doctors nurse called me back and suggested I not taking any more doese until she was able to discuss this matter with the doctore (who was out of the office but due to return tomorrow). By the time the nurse gave this advise, I'd already taken the second dose of Levaquil earlier in the day. Tonight, my knee pain (especially right) is much worse and it hurts to get up and walk around. I'm starting to feel like an old man. I've never had any joint problems or tendonitis prior to taking this medication. Tomorrow I intend to ask my doctor for advice. I don't plan on taking any more of this medication. I do fee a little conflicted though, because now after taking the second dose of Levaquin, my upper respiratory infection seems almost gone and my ears have completely stopped aching.
If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated. Should I expect that my knee pain will resolve in a few days after stopping this med? Again, I'm a health 32 year old male, and hope that this drug hasn't done anything irreperable (sp?). Thanks for listening.

The doctor's office prescribed Guaifen for this inner ear ache. The pharmacist explained that this medication has a stimulant. Since I'm a heavy diet pepsi consumer, I didn't think that Guaifen would keep me awake. After two hours of sleep I awoke and can't go back to sleep. As prescribed, drinking a lot of water goes with the medication; the side effect is frequent trips to the bathroom. Now, its 6am and I wonder when I will sleep again.

Taking 2 pills per day with 3 pills per day of Amoxicillin for sinus and ear ache. Severe stomach and lower back pain. Alot of gas. Crabby (probably due to only sleeping 1 to two hours without waking up).

I have been on this medication for 5 days now for acid reflux (or at least, that is what the dr. assumes I have. The doctor told me to take two 20mg pills in the morning before breakfast, and it seems to have helped some, since the Pepsid prescription did not seem to help me. I also am getting terrible pains on the side of my neck, and my throat hurts. Also have an ear ache that feels like an icepick being stuck in the canal. I also have a red spot now above eyelid like a rash, and all day i feel anxiety. I don't know if I should quit taking this. The stomach burning was terrible and is why I was put on this med. to begin with. So I am afraid if I quit taking this, the stomach burning will return. The dr. said 2 weeks of this, but I don't think i will last that long.
