Just a little update from my last post...
I am going on 8 months off Yamine, and I can tell you my severe anxiety has gone to almost nothing! I still feell nervous from time to time but nothing like before.
I still have the floaters but not as visible as before and im not so dizzy all time, I do however take Efexor for the anxiety because it was really out of control. My life finally seems to be getting back in order.
Ladies hold on take deep breathes, it takes time for out bodies to get back to normal. Saty strong!

Went to the Dr due to stress on the job, elder parents, and new marriage. I was on Efexor 75 and my Dr increased the dose to 150 due to no improvement on 75. I felt numb no crying, no excitement just going through the emotions of every day life. In two weeks time on 150 I felt more lifeless and my hair is falling out by the handfuls. I went to see a dermatolgist and he told me I reminded him of someone on chemo and not to be surprised if I lost all my hair! Has anyone had problems with hair loss? My Dr has dropped me back to 35 and wants me to start Wellbutrin. I think I am going cold turkey. I don't want to be bald! Thanks for reading.

Female 52, 60 pounds overweight, unfit suffer from eczema since infancy and for the last 10 years from recurrent depression with stress inducing most relapses into depression.
Started lisiniprol some 3 yrs ago combined with lithium and efexor for depression. Ceased all medication 6 wks ago but resumed 10 mg lisinopril 10 days ago as BP was 160/100. Noticed constant moderate low back pain and pins and needles in hands and forearms on waking each morning, which improve on shaking arms vigorously but which don't subside completely for several hours completely. Still being monitored for BP as resumed dosage and shall raise query but wondered if anyone else has same problem.

been taking efexor for 3 months. first few weeks were great, I was off my face on happiness. that slowly died and the depression came back. For the first time ever I've had serious suicidal thoughts and can easily imagine killing people that make my life difficult. I've been wnating to leave my husband but don't know if I really think that or if it's the drugs making me think that. I have no sexual desire waht so ever, I'm only 22. This is the reason I want to leave my husband, what use am I when I don't only not want sex but I also hate myself for doing it when we do. All in all I think efexor has done more to increase my depression than fix it. I'm getting off it now against my doctors advice, but hey it's my life.

I have been on Efexor capsules for 5 years, initialy on a very high dose then reduced over a two year period so that I am taking 75mg every two days. I am ready to come off them and have spoken to my doctor, but she say she is worried about the discontinuation side effects. She sugests that I should take them twice a week for a month and then quit. I felt fine about stopping (not worried about my depression returning) but now I feel anxious about the side effects. I have felt the brain shocks and dizzyness, before, when I was on a higher dose and I forgot to take them. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how long these withdrawal side effects last when the drug is stopped?

Hi. I was put on Efexor by my Doctor for DIZZINESS AND VERTIGO, not depression. I would be interested to hear from anyone else prescribed this for the same reason. I had non-stop dizziness and could do anything and this is the only drug that seemed to work. However I have all the worst side effects and would love to come off it.

My hubby has been on efexor for about 2 years, before that he was on prozac. Due to liver function tests my huband was told to start cut down his dose until he was down to 37.5 only" over a 2 week period". Hubby has now been on the 37.5 for about 2 months. He is in bed now cos w was feeling sick, dizzy and a migrain type headache." this same thing has happened alot now. He is always very tired moody and can sleep up to 3 hours in the day At night he wakes every 2 hours but does manage to go back to sleep after awhile but 2 hours later he's awake again. He itches till he bleeds but his sweating is much better. All in all I can see him going back down hill. He is very short tempered , tired and fed-up with everything.

I think that Effexor XR is a poison. I would highly suggest anyone who is considering taking this medication not to. I have been off this medication for a total of five days. I took it for 3 years. Only by the grace of GOD am I totally off of it. I hope this will maybe help someone else make their decision on whether to take this or discontinue taking this medication. They best remedy for my side effects. I literally got on my hands on knees and begged the lord for mercy and strength. I have been walking/running three miles everyday. My suggestion: Pray and exercise. You don't need this medication. God is so much greater than anything you are feeling.
God Bless and Hang in there!
