i was prescribed lexapro 10mgs a day for anxiety and depression following my hysterectomy and after having experienced bad side-effects of prozac 10mgs. my doctor increased it to 20 mgs for more anxiety symptom relief, but i felt horrible. i am back to 10 mgs a day, but i have occasional really bad eye twitching. could this be from the lexapro?

Please read his entire post in its entirety.
I spent 15 years on Klonopin. Initially I was placed on this medications for the side effects of Prozac, but it worked so well (initially) at curbing my panic attacks that I remained on it. It was a godsend for many years. My maximum dose was 1 mg twice daily (toward the end).
Several times I was able to discontinue this medication on my own with no problems, but in the late 90's I suddenly had trouble discontinuing this medication even with the help of a doctor, and I assumed this was because I had developed a 'dependence'.
My depression, anxiety, and panic attacks began to worsen during this time period, and I began to develop other symptoms - insomnia, pain in my spine and joints, IBS, a droopy left eyelid, restless legs, teeth-grinding - to name a few. I began to see more and more doctors as my list of symptoms grew, but doctors assumed that I was seeking more Klonopin and that there was nothing wrong with me.
There's a lot more to my story, but basically I almost died. Klonopin was merely a bandaid for what was really going on with me. I no longer even believe in "benzo dependence". Here's what was causing my anxiety:
Chronic Lyme, babesia, and several viral infections causing brain inflammation (join Lymenet!)
Also, severe electromagnetic hypersensitivities/microwave sickness.
If you've been placed on Klonopin, there is a good chance you are merely a victim of chronic Lyme and the wireless boom. Google "Elves Against ELF (& RF).

Klonopin only serves to sedate you to the fact that you have a raging infection in your nervous system, fueled by the wireless boom.

My 7 year old son was just diagnosed with OCD and has been prescribed Prozac. I am not happy about this at all. I have had him on Prozac for one week now and thought I would check the internet on the effects of Prozac and Singulair on kids and was shocked to find out all of his current problems may be a result of the Singulair. I am taking him off of it effective today! This is after about 3+ years of being on Singulair. I am very disturbed at what I am reading about Singulair and the fact that it may be responsible for all of the terrible problems that he has been experiencing. He is beautiful, smart little boy that has been experiencing terrible thoughts and feelings lately to the point where he has told me that he wishes he was dead. I feel so bad that I did not check sooner. He is off Singulair today. I am notifying his pediatrician and hope this will result in a much happier little boy. I will write with results in a couple of months.

Wow! I can't believe what I'm reading. I started YAZ three years ago at the age of 21. My gyn prescribed it for me for mild acne and pretty bad cramps. I was super excited about having clear skin. This is my only positive experience I have with YAZ and almost to no periods. In the beginning, I was a healthy 21 year old female who was active, was in a stable relationship and loved life. All of that changed. I turned into a miserable person, someone I couldn't even stand. I would yell at anyone; it didn't matter if I didn't even know you. If you looked at me wrong I made a comment, so my doctor put me on Prozac for depression and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). One of the side effects of Prozac and Yaz is fatigue, headaches and decreased sex drive. I began experiencing horrible migraines to the point where I would throw up, have unbearable pain behind my right eye and photophobia. So, my doctor put my on Topamax as well. One of the side effects of this is tingling in the extremities. So now on a daily basis I have: nausea (I throw up every morning from YAZ), I sleep all the time ( I go to bed around 6 pm), zero sex drive (my fiancee thinks I'm not attracted to him anymore. I tell him that the hottest man in the world could walk in and I wouldn't care), mood swings, tingling in my arms and feet (like they're asleep). I was HEALTHY UNTIL I STARTED YAZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I was also rushed to the ER 2 summers ago to rule out a PE in my lungs (severe chest pain with a heart rate in the 130's). The doctors diagnosed me with low potassium (another side effect of Yaz).
