I have been on Yasmin for 2 weeks and experiencing the most horrible symptoms. I have SEVERE nausea, extreme tiredness, dizzy/lightheaded, and SEVERE bouts of depression. There is something definately wrong here..especially if we are all suffering from almost the same symptoms. I'm almost elated to see I'm not the only one, especially since my doctor told me today that the depression I'm suffering from is not from the pill...it's me. Nice!

I discovered this site on Monday and stopped taking Yasmin on Tuesday. I've been on the pill for four years and had asked my doctor multiple times if my depression, anxiety and moodiness could be related to the pill. You know the answer. I felt such a sense of relief after reading everyone's experiences. I too am an upbeat person although I have a strong tendency to worry but it was never to the point of not getting out of bed, crying over very silly things and just know excitement about living life. With a new boyfriend and a new job, I thought I was just going through some MAJOR adjustments although in hindsight it's ridiculous to have lived feeling that crappy for so long. The side effects definitely got worse after the first year and that's when my libido started to tank as well.

It's only been a few days and I'm so elated to think that I'm going to get MY LIFE BACK that I'm optimistic the side effects many have mentioned in trying to get off Yasmin will not effect me. I will endure because anything's got to be better than how it's been. Thank you all very much!!!

I repeat what I've seen here in so many posts. I can't believe it took so long, how did I not realize, my poor child has suffered etc... etc... His side effects were: restless sleep, night mares, NEVER slept through the night. Less and less willing to go to bed at all. Combative, aggressive, began biting, short tempered. Extreme and rapid mood swings, physical, throwing toys and household items. Disinterested in socializing with other children, afraid to be with anyone other than immediately family. Poor self image ("I'm a bad boy"). Plus others.
I have a similar story to many. My 3 year old has been on Singulair for over a year. He had sleep disturbances early on, but the doctor changed the time to administer the dose and it improved... at first. The unfortunate thing I have realized with this medication is that the side effects are gradual and varied. This makes it difficult to make a connection especially in small children. It wasn't until he had a frightening 4 hour night terror episode last week that something clicked, I did a web search, found this website and realized it was probably the singulair. I stopped giving it to him immediately. Within days his behavior improved. Within 2 nights he began sleeping through the night, his personality is completely opposite of what I've dealt with for the last year. He is evolving each day and while I feel guilty for not catching it sooner, I am so elated to watch him shine. I thank all of you for sharing this information, without it I may not have yet realized that my son was suffering.

I contacted the company and they said that all these things have been reported "after marketing" what this means to me is that salespeople can market this to the medical community and not mention theses side effects because they did not occur (or were not documented) during the trial period. I suggest that you share your story with your friends and get the word out. If this medication works for a patient that's great, but I think patients/consumers have the right to know what they may be getting themselves into.

I just got off Advair after being on it for 2 years.
Upon my perscription, I was told there are "zero side effects". (That is probably true of every drug upon its initial release.)
I didn't take note of my side effects for the most part - wt. gain, acne, depression - writing them off on my transitioning to college. I also noticed that my hair was thinning. I had almost two years of not being able to control my skin. I tried three different dermatologists, but nothing would clear up my acne, especially on my forehead. I was about to start Accutane, and upon studying its (horrifying) side effects, my curiosity led me to research Advair as well. This is when the pieces of the puzzle came together.
Testimony after testimony described my exact condition.
I immediatedly stopped taking Advair. A week later I had lost 10 pounds due to a decrease in appetite, my hair began to thicken back up, my skin was glowing, and I was distinctly happier in general. I felt and still feel like a new person. I love life more, cry much less, and repeat that I am much happier, and no longer depressed. The first week I had some difficulty breathing, but was so elated to have my skin, hair, figure, and mental state back that I didn't care in the least.
I regret wasting so much time on Advair. I wish only that the drug get the reputation that it deserves.
