I've only taken it a couple times. It made me freak out emotionally. I am on edge, have severe anxiety, am sensitive to light and sound, and, overall, I just feel weird.

However, I can breathe through my noise. Is it worth it? No, not really.

I am pregnant in my thrid trimidster. My doctor perscribed me these CEPHALEXIN MONOHYDRATE 1tab/x3 a day. BUT: I only took ONE A DAY (I was too scared to take more with baby) and found over the last 3days I have been very EMOTIONALLY ERACTIC, feeling faint and energyless during the day, with a lack of desire to eat. I have swelling from pregnancy in my feet but my arms were the limbs I noticed going numb with my hands blotchy and tingly. I felt nauscious. When I did decide to rest/ sleep I have such a terrible awake feeling and stressed that my eyes are close but I am so very awake.

Thankyou to everyone who posted their symptoms as this helped me!

I miss me...WB has turned me into a zombie and I'm more depressed than before. I've only been on it for 5 days, but I don't think I want to see if it works out after reading these posts. One of my major complaints about WB are the constant hallucinations. While mild they make me anxious, agitated and a little paranoid. I don't have much in the way of visual hallucinations, mostly hearing sounds and perceiving them to be threats and smelling odd smells that don't exist. I'm also emotionally "flat", have no interest in anything and I'm shaky and feel very cold most of the time. And I've never had anger issues before, but now I don't trust myself around anyone. I just want to be alone. I was told this medication would work for Seasonal Depression and help me to quit smoking, but right now I miss how I normally feel. Has anyone else had hallucinations? Do they go away or should I quit taking WB right away? It doesn't make sense to suffer for a full month when my seasonal depression only lasts for 4 months anyway - does it make sense to hang in there and see what happens? After reading these postings, if WB doesn't work for me, I'll go back to being un-medicated. It doesn't seem so bad now.

I'm taking generic 100mg SR twice a day. After only 5 days, do I have to worry about withdrawals if I quit?

Thank the Lord for this site. I took 1 pill of this stuff.... just one 10mg pill, and I spent the day trying to stay awake, dizzy, confused, and strangely depressed and emotionally distrought. (and I do not have any history of depression nor have any traumatic or emotional events occured in my life.)

At first I thought I was losing my mind, but then I had a friend tell me about Lisinopril and boy am I glad. I stopped taking the stuff today and I hope the symptoms go away quickly. I know it's personal, but I've also been unable to get an errection since I started the stuff and even now that I've quit.

How Ironic, the medical profession has moved from the cruedality of selling snake-oil to the more advanced effects of selling snake-venom. I think I'll stick with aspirin and exercise.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I had been on a monthly birth control pill when I was sixteen to give me a period, but now that I'm seventeen I was put on quasense, and I'm thinking about throwing the whole pack away. I have missed so much school due to severe migranes and vomiting...my skin loks awful, and it's not just my age because I have never had acne before. sometimes I get stabbing pains in my stomach randomly, and I have gained almost 10 pounds since being on it. Lemme tell you, don't take it if you can help it. me, I'm forced into taking it.

My mother (75) was on Lipitor for ten years (1994-2004) until I took her off cold turkey. She was off Lipitor for three years until her new doctor put her back on in March of '07 without my knowing. I am having her taken off the DRUG immediately, it is Oct. '07.

Her experiences have been more mental than physical. Depression, irritableness, MEMORY loss, can't put words to thoughts very well and as a result she has been diagnosed with dimentia. Her condition worsened in the 6 months she has been back on the DRUG which made me check into her drug formula at the adult family home she is staying in.

The doctor informed me that there is a price to pay fo everythiing, even aspirin. She feels the positives of preventing a heart attack outweighs the side effects. This is a quality of life question -- should a person be asked to suffer through these numerous side effects jsut to saty alive; and where is it proven that Lipitor has prevented ANY heart attacks?

I look forward to having a mother that is more lucid and more pleasant to be around; AND more emotionally stable!

There are a lot of negative experiences on here, so I thought I should share my positive one. I have been on birth control off and on for about 6 years. I was on orthotricyclin for the majority of the time-off and on. After getting horrible near migraine headaches on orthotricylin every Friday before my period for about 5 months in a row my doctor and I decided to try a different pill. I was on trilevelin (sp) for 4 months and gained a few pounds and felt easily irritated and emotionally different-just cried easily and not myself. I've been on Yasmin for a month and have had a great experience. I lost the water weight I'd gained and just verified with my boyfriend that my PMS was hardly even there. Everyone is different and has different hormone levels, but so far I am very happy with Yasmin. I've been migraine free tthe whole month!

Yaz was the best birth control I have ever tried....I feel like it actually helped with being emotional. The only neg side effect I had was that I was more drowsy; other than that, it was all good things. It's a pill that is worth a try and see how it will work for you. It helped with my acne but I think I need a little more estrogen to clear up my face completely so I am going to Yasmin.

side effects: lost weight, breast grew slightly, acne decreased, felt pretty normal emotionally, lighter and easier periods, not many head aches...overall, a great pill.

Hi.. I have been researching birth control pills for a while now, as I knew I wanted to take them for acne and irregular periods. The doc gave me yasmin so I narrowed my googling and got a bit of a scare, after all the discussions I've read it almost seems now that it has a life of it's own.. it is a "DEMON PILL" that "RUINS LIVES" and it's "NOT WORTH IT" .................. but as someone who has never been on birth control at all before I'm trying not to be convinced that it will do nothing but make my problems worse, and I think I'd like to put it out there that you only hear the negative in places like this and all potential side effects ARE already listed right in the package. Everyone is different.. so I'll continue to try to read comments by girls who have been on it for as long as me.. So far it's only been a week, but already some girls describe horrific side effects of which I've experienced NONE. Maybe it's mind over matter lol I'm quite determined to have this work for me. Anyway just saying to anyone like me who is reading these.. if it's been prescribed to you don't be afraid to try it just because it didn't work out for someone else, NOT saying horrible side effects don't happen, it's very clear that they do.. but don't let the negative convince you so easily that all of a sudden it's all yasmin's fault that your life sucks.. try believing it might make it better!

Okay, I recently made a post on July 26th about how I loved Yasmin and have not had a problem with it. I would now like to revoke that post. Since I wrote that I have been feeling totally crazy! I snap at my 2 year old son, my fiance and my coworkers. That is not me! I do not do things like that. I'm usually a very happy person and very strong emotionally. Lately the most stupid stuff has me crying my eyes out. I seem to pick fights with my fiance, which I don't do. We never fight. And it was only last night that I sat down with him and told him that I feel like I'm going insane. We thought about it and the only thing that has really changed in the past 6 months is the fact that I started taking Yasmin. We discussed it and I have decided to stop taking this BCP for at least a month to see what happens with my mood. I'm hoping it works. If anyone has any suggestions about how to do this smoothly, please let me know. And good luck to you all!

Hi there... I have just found this site and I'm very grateful to everyone who has taken the time to sit down and tell us their story mine is very similar. BELIEAVE me I feel like I am pushing my family away and I'm losing my relationship with the one person who used to make me feel like I was the most beautiful woman in the world.
I'm a 40 yr female have or maybe had a great job that I loved... On April 12 I noticed a small red rash on my lower right leg no big deal went to the Dr. gave me some cream and sent me home well I went to work and by the afternoon things just seem to get bad my legs began to swell and little blisters started to pop up so I went to the E.R. they had no Idea what was wrong with me got me an appointment to see a skin DR. so I went home but the pain from the swelling was so bad I could not walk any longer went back to the E.R. they gave me some pain meds and called in some other DR. things had gone from bad to worse my feet had gotten to big I could not put on shoes and I had bruised completely across the bottoms of my feet they put me on 30mg of PRED. and it seem to be under control sent me home after 3 day in the hospital things were good for about a day or so I thought I would go back to work well that was not a very good idea.... My sister had to come and take me back to the ER where they did 2 biopsies and still have no idea what is wrong with me. so now they put me on 60mg of PRED the rash has gone, lots of scaring on my feet because of the blisters once they broke and dried out but I can live with that....
It's the side effects that they don’t tell you about,
MOON FACE I can't look at myself cause really that’s not me anymore,
WEIGHT GAIN I have always been thick but I can't handle the extra 30lbs I've gained,
MOOD SWINGS are unbearable,
PAINFUL JOINTS, CAMEL HUMP, BLOODY NOSE, BRUSING, SORE TEETH/GUMS, DRY EYES, FAITIGE, and worsted of all
I don’t have a support systems in my life so I'm fighting this by myself everyday, I have 3 kids that I have tried to explain all this to but they don't get it and well my boyfriend he tells me he understands that its the meds pushing him away but if I can't figure away to control this I will lose every thing including my job. I cant even get the energy together half the time to make it up and down the stairs which also comes with the pain of just trying to lift each leg up to climb the stairs, I also have the camel hump which I find very painful, The acne and the hair growth that I have to get wax off once a month cause I feel like a man I feel like a loser and as of the last couple of days I just want to give up I am now down to 20mg per day but I find that I am feeling so sick I cant think straight I hope and pray for each and every person out there that has to take this MED that you get better and I do hope that my symptoms wont come back. Thanks for being here and I’m glad I found this site. I know now that I’m not losing my mind completely. Elizabeth.

hi guys,

finding your posts so helpful.
i've been on yasmin for nearly 5 years and its only just dawned on me recently that my:
-anxiety/mood swings/erratic behaviour
-body hair growth
-weight gain
-increase in discharge etcetc
could actually be from the pill!!

i was always so bubbly and strong but i seem to cry now at silly things and i just don't feel myself. i initially went on the pill when i was 17 because my periods were so bad but i'm not sure what to do now... change pill or come off pills altogether?!

i'd love some feedback if any of you have been in a similar position, thanks so much

xxx

I had the Mirena IUD inserted in March 2006, 6 weeks after my first child was born. I had it removed on July 26, 2007. At first, I didn't notice any symptoms. I had spotting for a while and then just regular shortened periods after that. My first noticable symptom was that I was extremely fatigued. For the last 6 months I feel that I was living in a haze, very tired, and felt that I wasn't able to function. I felt like I was way older than 31. In fact, a few months ago I was so worried about what I was going to feel like when I was 80. I went to my PCP and she could not find a medical reason for my fatigue after doing extensive bloodwork, so she thought maybe I was depressed. I went to my therapist and she very quickly verified that I wasn't depressed, I'd been seeing her for a year already to work on family issues so she knew me very well. My joints ached and I also experienced arthritic like symptoms in my hands - I could not twist a bottle cap off or open a sealed jar at all. About 3 months ago I started to get chin acne, then it moved up the sides of my face around my hair line and then all over my forehead to the point where it was very painful to touch. I was terribly moody, snappy, and emotionally stressed out all the time. I feel that the last year and a half have been wasted and I wish I could go back and not have it inserted.

After removing the IUD, I had bad cramps and my period came 2 weeks early. Blood was heavy, dark, and clotty at first (alot) and now is just medium flow, but bleeding for almost a week now. I've also had lower back pain since it's removal.

I've been on NuvaRing for almost a year now and am I realizing my low sex drive and depression is the cause of the Ring.

Since starting the ring I've had the following symptoms:
- low sex drive
- leg cramp (restless leg)
- depression/moodiness
- lack of energy/sleepy
- breast/nipple tenderness

I also have a microscopic amount of blood in my urine and I'm being tested next week- but this could be unrelated.

The depression thing just hit me when I visited this site- for months I've been detached and in an emotional slump. I don't want to talk to anyone at work, and I'm dying to get home at the end of the day just to lock myself in my room and not answer the phone if anyone calls.

I also feel completely uninterested in my boyfriend of 8 years emotionally and sexually - this is unusual since our relationship has been getting better over time - because of the Ring I feel detached from him and sometimes feel like I could care less if I go weeks without seeing or talking to him which is very unusual for me.

I've also had about a 15 lb. weight gain in the past 5 years from using birth control- I'm nervous to stop NuvaRing because I've heard it actually helps with weightloss.

I have been taking Lipitor for about 5 years now and have had numerous things happen to me. Just trying to find out if they relate to the Lipitor or not. Have developed extreme fatigue and depression over the years. Always seems like I am in a fog. Have tried numerous anti-depressants trying to conquer this. Nothing seems to work and the problems continue. I was thinking that I just have to live with it and then I thought about the Lipitor. Has anybody experienced any of these symptoms too? I am on 20mg.

I posted yesterday a response to a message from another woman. I have stopped birth control before and it caused me to begin my menstrual cycle early. I had been thinking about not taking YAZ anymore as I was convinced it was making me feel crazy and not myself. I felt out of control hormonally and that my brain and emotions were not connected. I was very moody and would be come depressed and anxious for no reason. I also felt like another person both physically as well as emotionally... I was exhausted all the time and felt like I lost my self confidence. I felt I was missing out on my life. I stopped taking the pill last night. I will let you know what the side effects I have experienced are. I am calling my DR. this morning to check to make sure I am not putting myself at risk by stopping the pill. I think I am doing the right thing for me. I think it would be best to call your Dr. and ask.
Also item to note: YAZ is used to treat the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), such as anxiety, depression, irritability, trouble concentrating, lack of energy, sleep or appetite changes, and feeling out of control. PMDD can also cause physical symptoms such as breast tenderness, joint or muscle pain, headache, and bloating or weight gain.
I feel like this describes my symptoms to a tee.

I was put on Neurontin to help with the side effects of discontinuing the use of Lyrica. Not too bad a trade off .....Or so I thought. Now I have been taking 1500 mg a day for almost a year and I want to stop taking this drug. My memory is shot, I can't find the words I want to say even for the most mundane things, my vision has deteriorated, and the worst of all has been my mood swings and sleeplessness. My family has paid a tremendous toll for this drug. Emotionally - not monetarily.
I just want to stop taking this and can't seem to find any information to help with that. I know neurotransmitters have been affected and I just want to be done with this and have the old me back. I really do miss the real me.
If anyone has been successful at stopping this or knows where I can find knowledgeable support please let me know. Thank you from me and my family.

I went on Yasmin in late February of 2005. In early April of 2005,I started having severe anxiety and panic attacks. I had experienced a bout with anxiety and panic one other time in my life, but it was 10 years prior to this, and I'd had no trouble since. After having cousneling and working very hard to deal with the anxiety, things got better. However, I still don't feel like the strong, confident woman I was before all the trouble began -- I used to feel like I could do anything and like I was on top of the world. Since I've had anxiety and panic issues, I've had trouble getting to the gym (something I used to do 6 - 7 days a week), and I am fearful of things I was never fearful of before. Anyway, about a week ago, I started thinking back on this whole journey and realized that the anxiety started just about 4 - 6 weeks after taking Yasmin. So I typed in anxiety and yasmin in Google and came across this website -- I have been so surprised to see so many other women struggling with these same issues. I am now off Yasmin (I'm supposed to start a new pack tomorrow, but I will not be) and am very hopeful that I'll return to my former self sometime soon. My husband and I are hoping to have a baby early next year, so I won't be taking any hormone birth control after this -- I don't know if I ever will again.

i too was leary of these posts. i never knew these sites existed until i began to become concerned about side effects my child was experiencing. i began to research singulair. i read EVERY post on this site and also askapatient.com. i also read every registered singulair complaint on the fda watch report. i was stunned by the vast amount of complaints. in addition, singulair is listed as one of the top 20 worst drugs on the market. i would of never willing given my child a drug that was on the top 20 worst drug list.

the side effects are not always immediate and they also do not effect every person/child or effect every person/child in the same way. luckily, many people get positive results with this drug with no side effects.

my child was on singulair for a long period of time. after one month of discontinuation, the changes were dramatic. this drug was causing harm to my child physically, mentally and emotionally.

knowledge is power...just being aware of the POSSIBLE side effects will allow you to catch any bad effect, sooner rather than later.

a young child has limited ability to relate how a drug makes them feel. parents, drug manufacturers, physicians and the fda, have a responsibility to be that voice.

I have just weaned myself off toprol but am still feeling bad after a week. I have a constant sensation of being suffocated. My throat is very tight and I have shortness of breath. I'm still having diarrhea. Some mornings it doesn't seem worthwhile to get up and wait for the suffocation to set in. It's been very upsetting emotionally. The hacking cough is finally getting better but I wonder if I'll ever be able to breathe normally again. I too was taken completely by surprise by this awful drug.

This morning I awoke with my heart racing and a very anxious emotional state of mind. I felt irrational, frantic, like crying, hand-wringing & completely out of control emotionally! It was very scarey - I've never experienced this before. This is my 7th day on the antibiotic, and I'm seeing no improvement in the sinusitis that I'm taking it for.
