This post is directed to anyone who has contacted me regarding a possible class action lawsuit, which I was trying to initiate, as stated in my Oct 17th, 2008 post.
After contacting as many as 10 law firms, from NY to San Francisco, I have virtually "thrown in the towel". In essence, what they are saying is, this will be too expensive to litigate. The pharmaceutical companies have "teams" of lawyers, and I believe they are reluctant to go up against them.
I find it diabolical that this drug Kenalog is causing so much suffering, some emotional, some esthetic and some, like myself, sheer physical pain...but nothing can be done about it.
For all of you who have emailed me and I was unable to return your ems, I apologize....but I have been waiting to hear something positive feedback to relay. Unfortunately, that was not the case. If anything does develop I have stored your information and will get back to you. I would hope you would do the same.

I had been suffering from bronchitis for over a week; my doctor believed that it may have been developing into pneumonia so he prescribed a seven day supply of Avelox along with an inhaler (for my congested airways). About an hour after taking the second pill (day two) and a couple puffs from the inhaler, it felt as if my throat was spasming (possibly closing), my chest hurt, and I felt incredibly anxious. I actually called 911 (which I have never done before) and the EMS suggested I stop using the inhaler. So I did. I stupidly finished off the week's worth of Avelox (yesterday 11/9) and am still struggling with moderate to severe anxiety. My stomach has hurt almost all day today, and it still feels at times as if my throat is spasming. Has anyone else experienced this?? I thought it may be anxiety-related, but now I'm not so sure.
I'm seeing my doc again tomorrow and plan on telling him that I never want to use Avelox (or any fluoroquinolone) again!!

Last night I woke up burning all over and about to explode from the firey heat. Made it to the bathroom where my husband found me, eyes fixed and unresponsive...I was worse than comatose...I was dying. He talked to me and keep me "with him" and was telling me he was going to call EMS when finally I began to comer out of it. My eyes were fixed and I could respond to him. I had turned a gray color.I will never take it again. I, in reality nearly died, not from discomfort, but from a whole system shut down. I had only taken 500Mg at bedtime for about a week. No More for me...ever!!! jcw in San Antonio

Hello, Ladies.. I am 33 yrs old.. I have suffered a stroke from taking these birth control pills yasmin.. I was only taken these pills for about 4 months.. I woke up one day with a serve headache.. I had taken all the amount of tyelnol I could take in a 8 hr day. And the headache did not go away.. I just thought it was the weather or something.. It lasted for 2 days.I am a single parent of a 9 yr old daughter.. I woke up on monday morning still not feeling good. I got up and was going to start the day like I normally would.. Well I got in the shower and then got out and felt very dizzy. Then the next thing i remember was that my arm was shaking uncontollably and would not stop shaking.. I had to get my daughter up and she got dressed and got me dressed and called my dad.. Then she called 911. I was having a seizure.. Then by the time the ems got here my left side was completly numb.. Could not feel anything.. So then they did a ct scan.. I had a blood clot in the main vessel of my brain and it was bleeding.. Then they told me and my family that I may need brain surgery.. Then had to be transported to riverside methodist hospital.. Then I went into a full blown seizure.. I don't remember that at all. I remember curling into a ball and shaking and that is all that I remember.. Then I was at the hospital for 2 weeks.. Then when I came home about 4 days after that I went back.. My right side was going numb.. That was due to I was having more seizures.. I would love to get together with all of u and form a class action suit against this drug company. I am not like this but this is my life and the lives of other people. And not only that I have a daughter to raise and think about.. So if any of u would like to contact me..Please feel free to do so.. My email address is mcottrill2@verizon.net..

I was on 1/2 of a 75mg tab for two days.I had severe leg cramps, became semiunconscious, when ems took my bp thye could not find it. The hospital could not find it until I continued on oxygen. This was my first bp med.I'm going back to exercise and diet control, along with alternative medicines. I don't appreciate the near death experience.

Well, I had foot surgery. Several days later when I returned to doc my foot was obviously infected. He gave me Cipro AND Levaquin at the same time even though they are in the same family of drug. I went home and ate supper then took my first dose. I had a weird feeling like I was about to pass out and was home alone. I unlocked the front door and waited for EMS to arrive.
They checked me out and I was going to go to ER by car. When I stood up, I turned white and fell back on the sofa. I had a rash on neck/chest and felt like someone was squeezing my chest all the way around my body. They said my blood pressure dropped. They gave me epinephrine in ER. I looked at my daughter and said it is happening again. I thought the top of my head would blow off. I turned white and started vomiting everywhere. Turns out the nurse should have given it in the muscle not by IV.
A few months later, I took my first dose of Avelox (also in same family as Levaquin and Cipro) for a sinus infection. (I think it caused palpitations the one other time I took, but I do that occasionally anyway so I didn't connect it to the antibiotic.) Second time I was out at a restaurant with my sons. I felt like I was about to pass out again. I called an ambulance because they aren't old enough to drive. I told them about my reaction to Levaquin, but to my surprise my blood pressure was sky high. Again it felt like pressure in my chest but no difficulty really breathing. Since I had an "atypical" reaction, I had to stay overnight in the ER and be evaluated for a heart attack! I had an EKG, stress test, and cardiac enzymes drawn all night. What a pain! Then the dufus ER doc told me to continue the antibiotic. My daughter, who is a paramedic, said just nod and smile. Then go home and throw it away. Call your regular doc and ask him to change it. That is exactly what I did.
Now I am petrified every time I have to take antibiotics! I have to talk myself through it.
Second time I took it, I felt weird again.
