Encouragment symptoms and conditions

I cant thank you all enough THANK YOU. I am 45, have 4 older children and have had the mirena for twelve months. the nurse who encouraged me to have the mirena and fitted it told me to ignore the booklet , that side effects were very rare as the drugs don't go into your blood stream. I cant believe i fell for that, i mean it doesn't make sense. since having it in i haven't stopped bleeding bits,im covered in a rash that the doc says is a viral infection, i have incredible mood swings, joint pains, cramps, depression which i have been taking st johns wort for, shakes,headaches,dermatitis on my hands, forgetfulness, crying, numb hands and feet,weak ankles that tend to just go all of a sudden which makes me feel really stupid. Blurry vision and feeling a inner hotness behind my eyes,some mornings i feel like ive got a hangover even though i don't drink. As for sex forget it i mean why would my hubby want me!! and its the last thing i feel like. I cant believe hes put up with me and my nasty moods. Ive been married for 24 years. I never thought that all these systems were due to the mirena, until i looked it up and stumbled onto this site, i must of read all of the posts, and look twice a day to see if there are any new ones.I have had to wait 2 weeks to get an appointment to have it taken out, but thank god i had it taken out this morning. I couldn't believe how easy, quick and painless it was, maybe i was lucky that the strings were easily found. I feel sooo relieved to finally have it out and only feel slightly crampy. I cant wait to get back to normal. This is the fist time i have ever posted anything on the internet so please forgive me if my typing isnt up tp scratch, its taken half an hour to write this. I feel i have a lot to make up for with my family and my very lovely hubby and hope that these systems go quickly. I will let you know and please keep up the posts i need the encouragement, and im sure others do too.!!

I had Mirena put in on August 15th. It hurt like crazy. Worse than labor pains. I had it put in on what should have been the last day of my cycle. Well that was 11 days ago and I am still bleeding. I cramp some and i have had very blurry vision. I did not have a sex drive being on the pill and that has not changed. I am going to try to wait it out a little longer to see if it gets better. I have several friends that have it and they love it. We will see.

I have gained nearly 40lbs in almost 2 years since I got my Mirena. Nothing about my life style has changed. I have tried everything to lose the weight and can't drop a pound. I never know when i will get a period and never know for how long. I am extremely depressed and need some advice. My gyno says that there is no way my weight gain is from the mirena and all my blood work has been normal. HELP!

Just a word of encouragment to those contemplating having their Mirena removed. I was a bit frightened by the reports that removal was painful and caused severe bleeding. I had mine removed yesterday, and I must say, IN MY EXPERIENCE, the fear was much worse than reality. In fact, if it wasn't for the nurse saying "ok, honey, its out", I wouldn't have even known it was done and over with. For me, it was no worse than having a pap smear, and I had very little spotting for a few hours afterward and some very mild cramping, nothing like the cramps I have had while having it in. Just knowing it is out is a big relief, just didnt want anyone to delay having it removed for fear of that pain, everyone is different, but in my experience it was a breeze!

topamax- started 2months ago...the sinus trip is unbearable! i always sound like i have the flu! haven't lost a pound and i am craving sweets like crazy. i hate the tingles everywhere! the thirst is unquenchable. i feel like i am suicidal. i hate my husband when i use to love him. i am also on effexor er 300 mgs topamax 200mgs ....i have now decided to go off ALL of these drugs. iwas first put on them when my mom died because of anxiety.......then when my daughter went to jail. more stress....more drugs....zoloft...attempted suicide....effexor er...for the pass 4 yrs...i am no longer suicidal..i am at peace with my moms death. my daughter has grown up and has stated a family of her own with her husband .... do i really think i need to be on these drugs any more???? nope! comin down the hard way starting tomorrow...need encouragment people! drudogs

I have been on pred for almost 2 years for bronchial pulmonary aspergillosis. Which is a fungus in the lungs. I started with 40 mgs. a day. At first no symptoms no even weight gain.But after first month weight gain started with the moon face and big belley. Then mood swings and I cry at the drop of a hat. Sex drive just sucks. I am 37 year old female with asthma and allergies. After 2 months was reduced to 30 mgs. a day, no change in side effects. My family pays the true price. They get all the nastiness. My daughter who is 5 now is always being yelled at.Seems she always pushes the wrong buttons. Now am down to 5 mgs. every other day. Have lost alot of the weight gain except in the moon face and the stomach. Gained about 20 pounds and am now just about 8 pounds more than my normal weight. But still bad mood swings decreased sex drive, headaches achieness, and poor sense of humor. Aggravated very easily. I recently changed doctors hoping to get off prednisone and be treated differently. Since dosage was lowered syptoms have increased with the coughing and wheezing.
