the biggest thing that happened was that my penis swelled up, and had pain, it sometimes hurts when my wife and I have sex, usually that depends on how much it swells. noticed that erections are slow to come, but actually last a lot longer with the swelling effect. has anyone else had these problems?

Hi all. I was diagnosed 3 or 4 years ago with epilepsy. So far, I have on about 5 different epilepsy meds. I can't recall the first 3 but had to get off them because of physical side-effects. My last one was Dilatin which worked pretty well for a year. I slept great - 8 hours on the dot. Then, I started to have short seizures that began to successively lengthen. So, I was switched to Keppra.
I started at 250mg/2xday on Keppra and now am up to 1000mg/2xday. I also started taking B6 100mg/day. A couple of days after starting Keppra, I started to get slight headaches. These went away after about 2 weeks. I also got a numb patch on the same place on the bottom of each foot. When I went up to 500mg/2xday, the numb patch spread, I started to feel off-balance, and I started to get the "rage" symptoms. I went up to 1000mg/2xday and most of the bottom of my two feet went numb and cold, I began to get slight tingling in my fingers and a mild case of tightness in my chest. I still felt off-balance and the rage symptoms were there. It began to get hard to get to sleep and I would get up unnecessarily early and not be able to fall back asleep. I want off this med. Maybe it works great for other people but for me it I take it at the levels I need to, I won't be able to work or do much of anything.

I have been taking 20 mg Lisinopril for about one year. I work for a drug company (our company does not make Lisinopril). I do not know if these are connected or pure coincidences. I have lost about 6 pounds without going on a diet, sex drive goes in cycles (low to very high). I do not have ED, but the "quality" of erections is not what it used to be (maybe a sign of getting old).
The cough was never an issue when the generic was from Teva, however the last few refills have been from Ivax and that is when the cough started. It feels like someone is tickling your throat with spines and for the most part it is dry cough. Can different generic manufacturers be the problem?
Considering its excellent safety profile, I would be hesitant to switch medications just for the annoying cough. The drug works great (no morning flush or frequent pit stops)

Been on 25 mgs of Toprol XL for anxiety related palpitations for around 5 years. I gained around 20lbs since and always seem to be bloated, also have had siatic nerve trouble in my left leg and hip and buttock. This small dosage effects my sex drive and erections where things don't work like they used to, I'm on other medications that could affect that dept too. The one constant side effect is lazyness and apathy from the toprol.
Thank you.

Several years ago, I was prescribed prednisone for bronchial asthma. I have since suffered a back injury and have been prescribed it again to reduce severe swelling in my lower back. I noticed that each time I began taking the drug, my desire for sexual relations, strength of erections, and orgasms have actually INCREASED substantially. Strangely, it seems that most people complain of an opposite effect. Does anyone have any ideas on why I am affected in such a way by this drug? Thanks in advance and not complaining.

Taking Flomax for five weeks now. Had symptoms of "peeing through a straw". Doc gave me Flomax samples until I see a Urologist (next week). Flow has improved. I sense a little "seepage" from penis and have practiced Kegel exercises to control the pelvic muscle. None of the side effects as others have listed except for vivid dreams that I didn't use to have or couldn't remember. Erections are OK but semen is very little to none. I'm getting a list of questions ready for the urologist visit.

I wasn't sure until I ran across this site, but flomax has seemed to retard both erections and ejaculate. I will stop flomax today. Joel

I've been on Omeprazole almost two years, the GERD went away. if I miss a dose I'm okay too, but after missing 1 or 2 doses,I quickly start to get the dreaded heartburn. Anyway, My wife and I are busy raising two active boys, 5 and 7 years old. There isn't any time for sex... but now when there is, I don't have a sex drive anymore and my erections are not as firm, almost weak. I heard someone say that GERD medications can cause lack of sex drive and ED. Again, not a big sex guy because of the children, I'm just now realizing how this drug, Omeprazole, could be the problem. Not for sure though. I will stop taking the drug to see if my condition persist. Thought I would share. anyone have any feedback? thanks.

Lisinopril, yet another med prescribed blithely by our doctors...and yet another drug with side effects beyond those listed. Lisinopril made me extremely tired and yes, the dry cough came with it, moods swings too. But the BP can't be ignored, you gotta do something, right? SO, a LONG story made short, someone with credibility I knew had me try CAYENNE pepper, one teaspoon in water three times a day and was CHALLENGED to check my blood pressure by the second day to see how much lower it would be, After reading on the internet about it (there is much info) I tried it, AND IT WORKS without the bad sides. It's not as horrible as it seems like it would, less firey than jalapenos, for example, and the burning lasts only a few seconds. Side effects? Seriously, my erections seem to be better. No kidding.

I was on Wellbutrin for several years and have now been off of it for about a month. I believe that some of the side effects that I encountered using Wellbutrin include some short-term memory loss or inability to remember names, dates, etc.
Also am normally a very virile male, but noticed that my erections were not quite as hard while using Wellbutrin. At first I thought it was because I was getting older (now 52) but since being off of it, I'm back to my old self again. I now believe that they do not really know all the possible effects of using Wellbutrin and will definitely think twice about using any long-term medications.

71 yr old male, on lisinopril 5 mg for a couple of weeks and 10 mg for about a month for low heart ejection fraction (41%), BP OK. Also on25 mg metoprolol tartrate twice per day. I notice dry cough, loss of energy and loss of erections. Would appreciate suggestions for alternate meds without the energy and erection loss side effects. I can deal with the cough.

Just wanted to echo comments I see elsewhere here - I took Lisinopril (the choice of my HMO, 10 then 20MG) for about 1 year... I had the mild dry cough w/tickle in the back of my throat. The quantity and quality of erections started to decrease until I was quite dysfunctional. I thought it could be the meds, then read the comments here. The doctor offered Viagra, which had minimal effect. In the last two weeks my doctor switched me from lisinopril to cozaar. Erections began improving immediately. If you are experiencing this side effect be insistent about changing your medication.

I have just started taking Lisinopril 20mg (for 5 days now). The changes to my body are incredibly noticable. The effects I have observed are:
1) Feeling of being slightly "stoned" all the time. This is quite unnerving as I have noticed that my work has suffered due to me making lots of typing mistakes and other 'minor' things such as reactions to other poeple's comments. I'm sure my blood pressure is down due to the sluggish feeling I have. Exactly the same post-marijuana lethargy (am I alowed to mention that here ? - I am not a user but have tried it in the past).
2) Erectional dysfunction. Basically Erections subside very quicky which is far from normal for me.
3) a small dry cough.
I'm taking myself off these meds. since the effects are too pronounced. I was taking them to see if it could "improve" the quality of my life not "sedate" it.
The issues I'm going to raise with my doctor on monday are ,"Are we treating the sympton and not the cause of high BP".

Also weight gain.

Since I stopped taking Propecia I have been experiencing a number of negative side effects. I can't get an erection, the tube called the vas deferens connecting my testes to my body has developed a lump on my left side. I have been treated with antibiotics and it has not taken it away. I have been off of Propecia for nearly two months and I still have problems with erections and I have no interest in sex. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

I suffered a DVT in 2006 followed by a venous cranial clot in March 2008. I have been on Coumadin since March. My experience has not been too bad, I have gained about seven pounds. The positive side effect is better erections. (Must be the thinner blood) I am a 52 yr old male.
