Hi,
I've been reading everybody's posts, but I haven't seen anyone complaining about my problem, which is completely erratic periods. I've always been very regular, but since I've been on the ring I've been completely unpredictable which I thought was the exact opposite of what was supposed to happen! For example, I put in a new ring last Monday after having it out for a week, as prescribed. I got my period during the "out" week, which is what is supposed to happen. But now, 10 days after inserting the new ring, I'm having my period again.

Is this something to worry about?

my story sounds eerily similar to all of yours -- i received a kenalog injection (40mg) in my right arm (below the deltoid) last may 2007, and two months later the bruised dent was the size of a quarter. now (october 2007) the dent is approximately the size of a golf ball with bruising still visible. i am a new graduate student and my new classmates/friends have asked whether my "dent" is a gunshot wound, a skin graft, you name it. my GP simply denies any knowledge of kenalog's side effects and completely dismisses any suggestion that my erratic periods (i'm having one every other week) could be due to "just one injection." one last side effect -- i have back, chest, and neck acne for the first time in my life. not sure if that is connected. again, my story isn't much different from all of yours, but i felt compelled to share it to make the number of similar cases known...

I received a Kenalog injection in December '06 to provide relief from an allergic reaction. My doctor did NOT inform me of any possible side effects other than drowsiness. Two months later a small dipple formed where the shot was given. I had no idea what it was and just assumed it was a part of getting older (I'm 30). When it began to get deeper, I became extremely worried. It has now been 6 months and the dimple has turned into a very large indentation. I still did not put two and two together and did not think it could have been caused by the steroid injuection. I visited my doctor, the same one who administered the shot in December, to find out what this could possibly be. He said he had no idea!! And even suggested it could be cancer!!!! I came home upset, obviously, thinking I was very sick, possibly even dying!! My sister did some research and found this site, and I am so relieved. But now I am angry at my doctor for not warning me of this possible side effect at the time of the shot AND then diagnosing it as a possible cancer!!! So now I am left with this deformity on my butt and a profound feeling of helplessness. Someone please tell me actions you have taken that have worked, both legally and physically. Will this go away?!?

If you are a woman or have a daughter PLEASE READ.......

Please be very careful before getting a Kenalog injection especially if you are a woman or for your daughter. In March my 13 year old daughter received one Kenalog injection for hay fever. Now almost 4 MONTHS later it is a 2 inch indentation with dark bruising all around it. She has also had her period the entire time with maybe a 1-2 day break between them. It has taken this long for the doctors to say the bleeding is from the Kenalog injection. I never would have allowed them to give this to her if I had known of these side effects. She has been put through test after test and no end in site. Now my 13 year old will have to go on birth control to stop the bleeding and there will prob. be side effects from that as well. I was shocked to find this site and now how many lives this drug is hurting. Now my daughter is suffering, all from 1 SHOT.

The Good:
I am 31 and have been on Yasmin for two years. I have been on the other pills since I was 14 due to very erratic periods. Yasmin has been the best pill I have ever taken for cramps, period length and bloating. I am 5"4, 110, and a
34- D. My boobs have only gotten slightly larger than they are when I am not on the pill. For me that has been a very good thing.

The VERY Bad:
BUT........ I have had horrible migraines, naseau, depression, fatigue, and the worst acne I have ever had. As a matter of fact, I am on accutane now to clear it up. My skin is also now covered in dark brown patches that will not go away! I have had chemical peels, and use skin lightening cream, but they will not go away. My husband thinks I am crazy because I am ALWAYS sick. As far as sex drive goes, forget it, there is NONE. My husband thinks I don't love him. What makes me so mad is that my doctor told me it wasn't from the yasmin it must be psychological! My doctor also blamed my acne and fatigue on something else as well. Boy was she wrong! My last pill is this Friday, and it will be THE LAST PILL I TAKE! Thank you for letting me know I am not alone. Maybe there is hope!
