Right now, I'm in shock of all the reviews because I started the Nuvaring 08/17. By 08/19 when I checked the ring..a glump of white discharge came out. I thought then.. wow it's really starting to protect me. By 08/21 I had irritation down their and called the doctor...which was yeast infection. I ignored and took the medicine and thought maybe my body just trying to get used to it. By a week later... I was a walking nightmare. I would be mad at the world. I had all the systems of pregnancy. Breast tenderness, nausea 4 times a day, constant eating. I had lost 68 lbs in a year before I got on this thing and due to this ring in me I gained 8 lbs. and that's with me lifting weights 4 times a week and cardio 11/2 - 2hours a day everyday ...although I was eating for possible 4 people. I constantly slept my days away. You would've thought I should had been the most well rested person after all the sleep I did. When I came to this site... and read everything....I immediately ran to the bathroom and ripped it out. After 1 1/2 weeks.. was enough for me to see what it could've done. I want to say thank you to each and every one of you that typed a review because now... I don't have to walk around mad with the world. I'm sure when I walked out of stores and etc... people were calling me every name in the book due to my attitude and my co workers looking at me like...she's going to gain every bit of weight she lost if she keeps eating 3 separate meals just for breakfast not including lunch and dinner. GOOD LOOKING OUT... LADIES.. THANKS SO MUCH.

It's been 7 months since I was poisoned by Levaquin. I am suffering every bit as much now as I was months ago. No improvement at all. My entire body feels as if something is in the entire inner system, just racking everything with pain and indescribable feelings, like gripping, weakness, shuddering, etc. Dear God, why do doctors deny that this is happening and that Levaquin is the cause. Why do they get angry and space out your visits for two months and even threaten to drop you because you persist in believing that Levaquin did this? Why?

I wake up at night feeling like a ball of cotton has been placed in my mouth and soaked up every bit of moisture in it! Joint pain is terrible and my throat goes between being sore and just plain numb! My heart races everytime I take it. I haven't been on it long enough to say the weight gain is from it or not but don't think I will be on it long enough to find out after reading this forum!

Silke-
Thank you so much for your reply. It's encouraging. I wish there was a way to know what may be available here in the states thats a natural remedy for anxiety. I looked up the 'baldrian' on the internet and every site was in German. I may call a health food store here and see if there is anything equivalent.
I ended up taking the Xanax and I must admit for the first time in weeks; if only for a few hours that it may last I feel like ME again. I am very laid back and care-free. I guess after getting to this feeling of normalcy from a pill I guess I can see how people can become addicted to them. I plan to NOT get that way and I am going to soak up every bit of the relaxed demeanor I am experiencing right now.
My e-mail address is ******
Incidently, how long did you take Yasmin prior to getting off of it? I was on it for only 3 months.
Thank you again for your reply.

I've been off Yasmin for almost 4 months now and have gotten a lot better, but still deal with some anxiety, depression, and mood swings. The panic attacks are less frequent and the depression has gotten much better, but it is taking some time and I am not quite back "normal". I'd say the absolute worst time was about 1.5-2 months after I stopped Yasmin--the anxiety and depression was unbearable then. The toughest part about having been off Yasmin for a while now is that I have greater expectations and get so disappointed when I have residual symptoms of anxiety. Furthermore, people are not as sympathetic after a while with my symptoms and cannot believe that it would take this long to recover from an oral contraceptive. This website is amazing and all of your support has been so helpful in my recovery. It's hard to find acknowledgement from people because many do not understand what this drug can do to the mind and body. Yasmin has made what would have been one of the happiest times in my life, one of the most challenging and I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. Good luck to all of you in Yasmin recovery. Take one day at a time and don't forget to praise yourself for every bit of progress you make.

I had a sinus infection with a slight ear infection a few months ago, in April. I was prescribed Guaifen PSE and Biaxin, an antibiotic. Within the past couple of days I have been feeling very ill and attempted to take the Guaifen - only to realize that I had forgotten about the horrible side effects of last time!
This medicine was very rough on my body. When taking it, I feel very stange, and can not sleep more than 30 minutes at a time no matter how long I have been awake. The first day of taking the medicine, I had to urinate every 15 minutes for the first 8 hours or so, no matter how much or how little liquid I ingested. My mouth is very dry, and after a few days of taking this medicine, my skin became dry and cracked, mostly around my hands and face. I developed a bumpy, red rash on my face after about a week, though I am not sure whether this was from the Biaxin or the Guaifen. It did cause extremely severe coughing fits after the first few days of taking it, which often were bad enough to lead to vomiting.
That said, it does clear up nasal congestion - if you want to be blowing your nose every five seconds. It will drain out every bit of fluid in your body. You have to be feeling pretty bad to take this stuff.

I was very interested to find this site and the information people have provided. I think that almost any information found on the internet must be taken with a grain of salt: A particular car may receive rave reviews from several owners, while the same one is bashed as the worst vehicle possible by others. There are web sites that show "proof" that we never went to the moon, and other ones which have been set up to debunk them. As such, I hope that everyone will decide for themselves whether Levaquin is good or bad for them. As for me......
I had a script for Levaquin, given to me for a previous upper respiratory infection. At that time, I was able to beat it on my own without the meds. Over this past weekend, I developed a sinus infection *and* an upper resp. infection, and decided to employ the Levaquin (500 mg).
Monday night, I had very little in the way of side effects. Some slight muscular pain, mild chills/sweats, and restlessness, all of which could be attributed to the fact that I just generally felt bad. Last night, however, I took the second dose, and within about two hours, it felt as if somone had sucked every bit of moisture from my joints. Stretching alleviated some of the discomfort, and I was able to get to sleep, which did bring some pretty strange dreams.
Based on these symptoms (and after reading others' experiences), I'm going to cease the Levaquin, and see how things progress.... a "better safe than sorry" approach. If the infections don't subside, then I suppose it's off to the doc for an alternate solution.
Thanks again to everyone for posting your experiences, both good and bad.

Seroquel is awesome. I, at the age of 50 realized that most likely I was Bi-Polar. My swings we not drastic but were hard on me and people close to me. I am taking 300mg at bedtime. I sleep like a rock, wake up with a slight haze which disappears after my first cup of coffee. I feel on top of my problems and not underneath them.
-- By scottart | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meI have a theory about the weight gain, something that may possible help. I noticed I was becoming constipated a bit. I think that when your food stays in too long, your body sucks out every bit of fat, etc. I bought some Metamucil, which works great to keep things moving quickly. I also have modified my diet to lean eating.
I am having one problem. I have a crick in my neck, on the left side. It is very painful, kind of like I have pulled something. We went out to a Christmas Party last night and I had a few drinks. The neck pain came on quickly. Anybody else have this?
