Hey I've been on Topamax for a week and a half now. Thats not too long. I have been lucky. I've experienced the tingling extremities, some bowel issues, definate exuastion and the worst, FLAT SODA!!! But nothing to extreme, or should I say moderate versions of all these but I experienced something I hadn't seen posted here several days ago. I was having intercourse with my wife and when I actually had my orgasm I went completely numb. In fact the only reason I knew it happened at all was the obvious evidence. I was sober at the time and it hasn't happened since but it felt like the same tingling in my extremities only from head to toe. It was highly dissappointing but I thought might lighten someones mood to hear it told.

Clairey,it is so hard to believe that this pill is still being prescribed to women. Any other drug that caused such high levels of anxiety would be withdrawn. From my own personal experience of yasmin I found that low dose naltrexone has made a huge difference to my life. I also take Vitamin B complex and a good multivitamin. I suspect that Yasmin somehow interferes with the level of endorphins realeased by the brain and causes anxiety and depression. I have looked into this a lot and the evidence needs to be looked at quickly. Please be assured that your anxiety was probably caused by yasmin. Although of course you should be checked out by your doctor incase there are any other reasons. Although i think when you look throughout this forum you will see that it the most common complaint of all the women taking yasmin. I had a terrible 3 years on yasmin and am only now starting to recover from the effects. I have been off it for about 6 months.

Do not trust your doctors ladies! My doctor didn't seem aware that this drug is too new on the market to trust. In fact, our doctors don't know half of what our pharmacists know. After 10 years on a tri-phasic pill I opted for Yasmin. Within 2 weeks I had an enormous grand mal seizure and woke up in an ER. (I hae never had a seizure in my life!) Of course there is no evidence to prove Yasmin caused this, but it seems a terrible coincidence and even my doctor ordered me to stop taking it. When I went to Yasmin's website they mildly mention seizures as a possible side effect. The truth is, the safety of the pill is not confirmed, especially for long-term use. I have heard someone call The Pill the biggest human trial in history. I'm starting to believe that's true.

Hello there
I know you will not like this, but I am well pround of you speciallady3996 because you have phycick abilities.
I took this drug and started getting severe palpitations of the heart and disturbance of my heard rythm.
This is an extremily dangerous drug and I would not take it, unless you plan to die. There is evidence of this problem elsewhere but the doctors don't make it public, since this would do in the reputation. Go to the BNF website and you will see what I mean.

My wife was put on Lithium about 2 years ago for only about 6 months and frankly I saw no improvement or change.
We were assured that any decrease in thyroid activity would only be temporary however despite never having any thyroid problems before she was started on 25 micrograms of thyroxine to compensate for lack of thyroid activity. It is now up to 100 micrograms with no anticipation of any improvement.
Although there seems to be no evidence of it causing permenant damage I wish now that she had never been started on it.

Everyone should be aware of the side effects of medications they may take. I had my first shot of Kenalog recently, for seasonal allergies. The allergies are not much better, but my Psoriasis has cleared up! After 5 years of using every available topical cream and lotion, as well as light therapy, with almost NO improvement, my hands now show only slight evidence of the Psoriasis. Will I take another shot? For sure. Any side effects are well worth it.

In Aug I was on levaquin for 4 days and experiencing subtle side effects (nausea, fatigue) until day 4 when i woke up with severe abdominal pain and called 911. I later reread the prescriptions notes and figured it was a side effect from levaquin. But now i am sitting on $15,000 of medical bills because i don't feel the ER physician caught this connections and ran every test possible including 2 CAT scans and an MRI and still never mentioned that it could be a side effect. It seems obvious to me and I am not even a doctor. If anyone else has been to the ER or doctor because of these side effects or if there is a doctor out there that can help me build a case against the physician who I believe missed on diagnosing me correctly and administered several unnecessary exams, I would greatly appreciate it. I need alot of evidence and resources.

Please search thru the postings on: www.forum.ditonline
click on the Lipitor board and do a search on stopping statins. There is some evidence (supposedly--i have not seen any) that there is an incease in platelet stickiness upon stopping statins--i think it is the first 2 weeks after stopping statins. ask on the dit board what others took when stopping a statin. best of luck to you. olsen

I've been taking this for eight days, and feel spaced out and very tired. eyes are dry. vaginal dryness. not even thinking about sex. i'm convinced i have heart palpitations though went to the casualty ward tonight and they did tests and could not pick up any problems. is there really a greater risk of stroke thombosis on this pill? if so, where is the evidence? i don't want to stay on it if it messes up my life. i went on it for acne. has anyone who STOPPED taking yasmin had an outbreak in acne after coming off?

This is a follow-up to my posting of Jan.05/03. I have just had cataract surgery. I understand that this can be a side effect of Seroquel along with many other nasty ones. However I do realize people do tend to get cataracts as they age, but I had no evidence of cataracts forming before Seroquel, so who knows??
I have now lost 40 lbs., since being off Seroquel, am still coping without taking another med for hearing voices which continue & continue & continued.
My abdomen is no longer bloated and making me look like I am 9 months pregnant. I feel more like I have my life back in spite of hearing voices as I feel more motivated to do things around the house.

60 yr old/young female: I started generic toprol (metoprolol 50mg xr) yesterday (11/22/07). Took about 3:00 PM. The next morning around 6:00 AM, I had a hot flash that equated to one you would have if you had taken niacin. Body was burning and I was sweating. Looked in the mirror to see if I was flushed, because of the severity of the hot flash I thought my body would be totally red. It wasn't. I called my pharmacist to report this event. He researched and found no evidence of such. He did say that it did not rule out the possibility that it was caused by the Toprol. Asked me to keep him posted as his customers were the ones that helped him be able to report side effects to other. Well I found this site and low and behold I have read of the hot flashes and all of the other problems. I will not be taking this medication. I am not a pro medication person anyway and related that to my dr, but at some point you feel you have to have trust in someone. I don't trust medications. I know at some point in my life I will probably have to take something, but not Toprol. Sounds as though it will cause more problems than it will cure. Thanks so much for your input. It will prevent me from having to wean myself off this mess. Oh yeah, I was also feeling the depressed, anxiety mentioned. Not at a high level , but just knew I wasn't myself. That was after just one dose. I can't imagine how it would have progress. I feel very blessed.
