SURGERY! The Mirena went through my uterine wall and into my abdominal cavity. After about a week I couldn't handle the pain anymore so I went in to see my OB. We did an ultrasound and she said she could see it but could feel it inside...I ended up getting an MRI that day and surgery that night to remove it... :(

I'm on here researching a different med, but couldn't help notice this thread on Wellbutrin. It's been about 7 years now since I was on Wellbutrin, but I am still enduring the consequences. Back then, there was not a word on the label about Wellbutrin (given to me to help deal with ADHD) and high blood pressure. Later they added that warning, but most people (and doctors!) miss it. I ended up in the ER on Wellbutrin with hypokalemia (low potassium), which can be fatal. It's a terrifying condition. The ER doc fixed the immediate problem with a potassium concoction, but ever since then my BP has been sky-high no matter what meds I take. Only exercise seems to help at all, and this despite having since then lost 25 pounds. I would consider my case an isolated event if not for the fact that since then two people -- one a person friend, another a client -- reported the exact same thing. They were on Wellbutrin for one reason or another, and ended up in the ER (one admitted for overnight observation). I have had Mirena since January 2009 and at first I was relieved to see many of my side effects from the pill disappearing. I have more of a sex-drive, no more yeast infections, and over time my periods became virtually nonexistent. However, I now have the worst cramps during my period, and I have never had period cramps in my life! I have gained probably 15 pounds and feel tired all of the time. Worst of all I have turned into a horrible person. My mother prompted me to research this products side effects after she told me I reminded her of my overbearing and irrational grandmother! Saying that she always hates to come home to me as she doesn't know how she will find me! If I will be angry, or happy, or sad, or jump all over her. My fiancee has said the exact same thing. I am now definitely having it removed I just hope the damage has not already been done. AND to top it all off, I haven't even finished paying it off! I still owe money on the Mirena because I was too broke to get regular birth control without insurance.

Continue to have same daily, continuous pain & pressure in uterus & rectum area.
Sometimes feels like a bowel issue as well?????? Some sort of connection here.
Pressure, heaviness down into my upper legs & knees feel swollen
Sharp knife like pains in breasts
Nausea that wakes me from sleep
Tearful, sad, becoming depressed, feel like Dr.'s think I'm crazy!
Spending money we do not have on$50 copays and GETTING NO CLOSER TO THE ANSWER!

Blood work some white blood cells, but nothing major.
I eat Advil like PEZ candy, if a friend can give med a pain med I get a days relief then it's just right back the next day. I don't dare ask for meds from Dr.'s they already think I'm nuts!
I have wasted so much time with this, I am missing my infant experience life, my 4 yr old needs me as well! My husband can not take another minute watching me in pain & crabby all the time.

I've been taking Lisinopril for about three months and wonder if this could be causing my anger. Before this medication I was definitely not a angry person but lately even the smallest things set me off. Has anyone else experienced this type of side effect from this medication? It has definitely regulated my blood pressure maintaining at 120/80

I was on ortho tri-cyclen lo from the time i was 16 til i turned 21... i liked it.. my sex drive was awesome, but it did make me horrifically moody during my period. I have currently been on the nuvaring for 2 months, which has it's perks (you don't have to remember to take it, i have no cramps or moodiness) but my breasts throb 24/7, im hungry ALL the time (like starving), i'm bloated, get gas about every day after i eat dinner, i've gained a few pounds, i wake up 3 times in the middle of the night, and i have next to no sex drive.. and when i do, sex is dry and it burns! So i'm going back to ortho... i will for sure trade weight gain and dry painful sex for moodiness on my period! I really don't think there is a bc without side effects, you just have to try a few and see which one you hate and which one you can live with. All in all... ortho tri-cyclen lol has been the best one!

I am curious as to know if anyone else has experienced the same problems I seem to be experiencing now. I got my Mirena inserted Oct 28, 08 and bled heavily for 3 weeks. Since then I have had spotting every now and then but no period. I have cramps all the time and it feels sort of like being prego but I am not. I also have discharge all the time and it started after I got Mirena put in. I am trying to remain optimistic about this because I want it to work, will someone please give me some advice as to what I should do?

I am glad I found this website. I thought I was losing my mind. I had a migraine for 5 days before going to the doctor. He didn't think the headache was from the Doxy. Ended up in the ER for the migraine, I was literally at my wits end. They gave me the cocktail to get rid of the headache and I woke up with it the next morning. I stopped taking the Doxy and started on Levaquin. Finally back to myself, no headache and energy.

muscle aches and cramps in calves of my legs

since starting topamax in may 08, 50mg twice daily, i have had constant pain under my right rib, feels like something is eating a hole straight through to my back where the pain wraps around. also have some trouble breathing, constipation. have had gallbladder ultrasound, hida-scan of gallbladder, endoscopy, cat scan of chest and abdomen and chest x-ray, along with a zillion blood tests all showing normal. no one can find the source of my pain, the only thing is how the time corresponds with my pain and when i started the topamax. can anyone tell me of any similar side effects they have had, is it the topamax causing this? and should i stop. i'm feeling as if i'm poisoning myself. i need help. thank you for anything you can tell me.

I was giving prednisone for only 5 days (not sure about dose, but it tapered to one pill on the last day) for a bronchitis induced severe asthma attack. I have only had asthma twice in my 50 years, both times associated with a bad case of bronchitis. The "doc in the box" reduced his original dosage due to the 3 corisone injections I recently had in my spine. After reading these posts I feel grateful I wasn't on a higher, longer term dose. I have some of the same side effects listed here including uncontrollable appetite, fat gain around the middle, water weight gain, constantly having to urinate, superhuman energy, heart palpitations, and approximately two weeks after finishing, I began to get a mustache (hairs that were previously white became brown over a two week period). I have read on the internet and been told by my pharmacist that this is temporary. I have also read and been told that the 2mg estradiol I take every day since my hysterectomy causes the body to retain and not rid itself of the steroids as it normally would (estrogen is actually listed as drug interaction with prednisone). The doctor in the box apparently just ignored this interaction and prescribed it anyway. However the main reason I am posting is a very strange possible side effect that occurred approximately 1 week after my final dose. I was awakened in the middle of the night with SEVERE pain (felt like bone pain, not muscle) in my right knee that lasted until morning. By mid morning it was gone. The next night I had the same experience but in both knees. It lasted about 5 more days, gradually tapering in intensity, and then just went away. I do have severe arthritis in my lumbar and cervical spine, having had surgeries to repair injuries from a snowmobiling accident. I have normal arthritis elsewhere for a 50 year old, but have NEVER had issues with my knees. Has anyone had this strange symptom? None of my doctors (internist, rheumatologist, physiatrist - who gave me the injections and prescribed physical therapy for my spine) had any explanation. The only explanation I have is the prednisone because I had taken the Z-pac (antibiotic) with no side effects several times in the past. Weird!

Incidentally, I am off the prednisone for about 5 weeks, am still hungry all the time, still fat, still bloated. Unfortunately the extra energy is gone. Best of luck to everyone on this strange drug. My heart sincerely goes out to all of you on long term therapy. God bless.

Hi, I have a blood clot in my arm,From mri dye.Since then my life has been a nightmare.On lovenox 2x time daily on my 20 with the shot. my stomach is black and blue and yellow from the shot.And i have big bumps in the stomach area.Now taking 6mg of Warfarin. Must a gain 6 lbs on that drug. I told the doctors about the side affect. They just look at you with a puzzle face.I go for weekly blood test. and my blood is still real thick.

Well I too am having "weird" symptoms. It may be due to Omeprazole but not sure at this point. I switched from Prilosec OTC to Omeprazole which I thought to be the exact same thing. A couple months after the switch I am having chest tightness. Not really pain but just a weird feeling in my chest that almost feels like anxiety or stress and kind of a general weird feeling. Also kind of feels like a chest cold without the mucus that goes along with it. Went to the doc and had a EKG which was normal. I'm 30 years old and don't have any family history of heart issues.

I'm going to stop taking it for a few days to see if the symptoms get better. I'll post back in a week or so.

I was on a pill since I was 18 years old until 34, non stop. I left them for three years and now I tried Yasmin for the first time. My breasts are so painful and I have had like panic attacks. I don't want to eat a lot because I feel that I will choke. Last week I finished my first package and after reading all your stories, I guess I will be off the pill again. IN case of. its better to prevent, right?

a full week after my first remicade treatment, i suddenly developed a very severe headache, followed by a stiff neck, a stiff left arm, a sore jaw where i couldn't open my mouth very far and i could not chew, then developed a fever, chills and itching. It came on fast but also subsided a good bit within about 12 hours. has anyone else experienced something like this, a full week after a treatment?

My son is suffering from psychosis because of prednisone. He had severe poison ivy and was given 10 day course of pills that tapered and a shot. Since then he has been in the psych ward for a week , released given respirdal and lithium. After 3 weeks we tried to wean him from the respidal but the psychosis came right back. ;He is 17 and never had any symptoms of psychosis or mania before. He has every symptom now. BTW his psychosis did not appear until he was finished with the prednisone for several days. Will he ever recover?????

I have been on Levoxyl for about 9 years and have felt awful. I have had weight loss, dry hair, thinning hair,dry skin, muscle aches, migraines and the list goes on. I just got out of the hospital Monday after 4 days of testing of my heart and lungs. I was admitted for racing heart. The doctor's conclusion was anxiety! They said that Levoxyl has nothing to do with my rapid heart rate. The endocrinologist prescribed taking levoxyl .050 on day and .075 the next also a beta blocker, Xanax and Zoloft. I can not take any of these meds b/c they make it almost worse. I KNOW it is not Anxiety and it from the Levoxyl but what do I do?? I am a mess right now can not be in this condition with four young kids and a husband. None of the doctors would say it was the Levoxyl and instead prescribed more and told me to check up with blood work in 6 weeks. I took the .050 yesterday around noon and by 7:30pm my heart rate picked up again and continued until 4:30 this morning. I can not sleep more then 2 hours at a time and wakeup feeling like I am crawling out of my skin. PLEASE let me know of any solutions.

I am 25 and healthy.
I had Mirena inserted in October 2007. In March 2008 I went to the ER with a racing heartbeat. The ECG was normal, i was sent home.
On June 8 I went to the ER again for racing heart beat and chest pain. The ECG was normal, I was sent home.
On June 11 I was home alone and my chest was sore, my heart started racing, my fingernails turned blue, i was light headed. it felt like the blood left my body. I called 911 and was rushed to ER with a heart rate of 175 bpm. The ECG was normal. The doctor said it was anxiety, gave me an Ativan and sent me home after the heart rate normalized,
The 12 of June I went to my family dr as my symptoms had not improved. I was told she could not do anything except order blood work and to go back to ER if i still felt like that. I went to the ER. This time they prescribed me Ativan for anxiety even though i told them i was not anxious.
I took the Ativan for a couple of days. It made me tired but did not improve my chest symptoms or shortness of breath.
I got worse each day. I could only sit on the couch. Even going to the bathroom would have me feeling like i was having a heart attack. Since then, I went to ER 4x. because i KNEW something was very wrong.
Each time the ECG was normal so i was given a 24 hr monitor to wear (still awaiting the results).
I was reading the side effects for Mirena and my symptoms were listed. This medication can potentially cause heart attack and stroke.
I would wake up in the middle of the night with my chest burning and heart pounding. You don't wake up from a deep sleep having a panic attack!!
My last visit to the ER had the doctor telling me "not to google shit and freak myself out". I asked to have my IUD removed and although he was skeptical he agreed after i begged.

I cannot say for CERTAIN the mirena caused this but I have had it out for 3 days now and started to feel better yesterday which is also the day i started to bleed. This only convinces me further it was the IUD.

I am still not 100%. It will take some time for my system to return to normal after this. My main concern is that it damaged my heart so I am going to have an Echogram done to find out.

I received my first shot of Gardasil in January 2007. It could have started sooner, but about a month later my hairdresser noticed a bald spot in the back of my head. I rushed back to my ObGyn and asked her if the Gardasil could be the cause as nothing else had recently changed. She said that she had not heard of this, but she referred me to a dermatologist. I asked him if my hair loss had anything to do with the Gardasil. He replied that I had Alopecia areata and one thing had nothing to do with the other. He advised that I continue with the Gardasil and that he would start treating me for the alopecia. I wish that I would not have listened. I don't know what would have happened if I had stopped then, but I didn't I proceeded with the treatment to the end now over half of my head is bald!!!
I don't know what to do. I keep going back to the dermatologist for treatments for the alopecia, but it just keeps getting worse.
If anyone has had a similar experience and would like to share or has found some other treatments that work, please post a reply.

Just an update about the class action suit discussed previously, and Aamaya had provided us with the Florida attorney, Justin Wikin: I got a letter in the mail yesterday stating that they would not be pursuing suit against them. They said that they deal mainly with wrongful death cases and it does not mean that the case does not have merit, just that it is not their specialty. I will be doing some research here locally in Ohio to see if I can locate a practice to pursue this. If anyone comes up with something, please let us all know.

I used to be on Yasmin for about 6 years and about 8 months ago I switched to yaz because a friend of mine told me she had less side effects. Not true. I haven't been myself. In the last 6 months I have been getting a charley horse type leg cramp in my right calf about 1-2 times per week in the middle of the night when I am sleeping. After reading this site, I am concerned because a few people said that lead to a blood clot. I didn't realize this until now. Does any one know if this is true? If so I'm off of it asap.

I am on my first pack of Loestrin 24 Fe. I was doing okay except for constant breakthrough bleeding. This past weekend I was at a rehearsal dinner and wedding where I did a fair amount of drinking. On Monday I started feeling weird. By Monday night I was so weak and tired feeling that I couldn't lift my head. I've been laying on the couch for 24 hours and I still feel like the life has drained out of me. I"ve also had a stuffed nose and post-nasal drip since I started the pill. I went to the doctor this morning and they decided I needed iron pills to counteract the bleeding and an antihistamine and singlulair for the nasal symptoms. I'm now totally afraid of this pill!

Very interesting read, I started taking Lisinopril last year to help my borderline high blood pressure. After taking it, it seems that my sexual sensation has decreased dramatically. I thought I would wait to see if it would come back & it has not. I went to my HMO & the Doctor could not find anything wrong, he checked my PSA's & testosterone levels & they were normal but albeit at the near bottom of the normal range. So he prescribed Viagra. This has not helped, in fact I now have headaches, stuffiness, pupils constricted so much that it is hard to look out doors because it is so bright. The Doctor also told me that he has never read anything about what I am experiencing in any medical journal & just by looking at him & reading in-between-the-lines he thinks that it is all psychological. Maybe it is but I feel as if something is wrong. I do the treadmill at least two times a week up to 3 miles at a time & on a 5% incline & walk at a 4 MPH up to 38 minutes at a time.

Since the last time I posted, the breakthrough bleeding has come back. I guess its because I skipped the week of inactive pills in my first month. The bleeding started on the first day of the second week in my second pack of pills, and 8 days later I still have light bleeding going on. Its kind of weird actually, because I usually seem to bleed during the late morning and early afternoon, and by early evening it stops, only to start again the following day. Its not the worst thing in the world because that means that I can still have some fun with my boyfriend, as long as its at night time. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and how many months can I expect these long periods to last for before it becomes more regular?

my son is almost 4 and has been taking singulair since right before he turned 2! I am just blown away by all these things i've heard and now read about this med. I NEVER would have thought about this making him act the way he does! I thought it was just his terrible 2's and 3's! He has major anger issues, he screams out of nowhere for no apparent reason, when he gets in trouble he hits me or makes these horrible faces! he scares me sometimes! he has trouble falling asleep but once he is asleep he is out for like 11 hours sometimes! Here in the past yr when he plays with other kids he is very very mean to them... hitting them, beating them up, yelling at them.. i've NEVER seen my son act like that! It really sucks when other people just don't even wanna be around anymore b/c your kid is so mean! Which he has never been a mean kid! everyone loves him to death but can't understand why is so mean and has these outbursts sometimes! B/C that just isn't my Brayden!! sometimes i just think he is flat out crazy... like maybe i need to get him tested for some kinds of disorders! i just don't know what to do! the doc will tell me its normal 3 yr old behavior I'm afraid... and now if i take him he will think i am some crazy mother who is hearing all these stories and believing everything! Well hell ya I'm reading all this and believing everything cuz I'm sitting here experiencing the exact same thing other moms are who's children are on the same medications! I've even thought maybe its me i just had a baby 3 months ago so maybe its postpartum... so went to the doc and she has me on Zoloft which i DON'T need... I'm not a depressed person at all! But i have days where i just don't know what to do with my 3yr old i just cry i cant handle it it is entirely to much for me! it just blows me away to think that it may all be caused by a med that I give my child every night to help him! But is it really doing more goood than bad? I don't even wanna know whats gonna happen next... what is he gonna do?! I don't wanna even think about the possibilities... To know i may have an answer to his anger and everything else is kinda relieving, yet this whole thing scares me!! The med has seemed to help his breathing problem since hes been on it though! But if it makes him angry I'm sure the zyrtec and breathing treatments will do just fine!!
