I have been on lipitor for a little over two years now. I experience extreme joint and muscle discomfort. I am also picking up weight at an alarming rate. No matter what I do to lose the weight, it's not working. I've had several blood tests, but all come back fine..but I know I don't feel well and I'm having trouble remembering things....

Hello all, after reading all of your messages I am convinced now that the Lipitor is to blame on my symptoms as well. I began 10mg of Lipitor about 3 years ago and this past February was increased to 20mg, my cholestral readings was at 98 and now at 90. I also quit smoking in February. In April started to experience extreme pains in my arms and back, thought it was the mattress or pillows have replaced every pillow in the house, and have begun pricing mattresses. Have extreme bloating, gas and constipation. Went to the Drs. and was told its a reaction to quitting smoking as nicotine is a natural laxative. Sounds beleivable, never though of the Lipitor increase. Breast extremely tender and sore, went to the OB, had a mamograpghy everything fine, OB suggested researching Lipitor and bingo I'm a believer. Called cardiologist today and she has immeditaly lowered it to 10mg, and wants to see me in 3 weeks as a follow and possible wean off all together. I need to research the cholestral numbers and see how good or bad mine are at the moment. Again thanks everyone for taking the time and writing about your experiences and reading everyone elses. Good luck to all

I have been taking lisinopril for 3 years. My cardiologist believed I had a virus that attacked my heart. He prescribed lisinopril for my hbp. It has worked to lower my bp but I am experiencing all or at least a majority of the symptoms that everyone is complaining about. I have on multiple occasions stopped taking the medication but experience extreme exhaustion to the point that I can not function. I did not notice anyone having a problem stopping the medication. Please if you have any information let me know my Dr. does not believe me. Thanks.

ok...so i was on yasmin from the age of 17 to about 20 for irregular periods and had no problems. i stopped taking it due to forgetting to take it and my periods had become fine. i'm now 23 and just started taking yaz last month for increasing pain, nausea, and mood swings associate with PMS. i now experience extreme mood swings. i have always had some depression, anxiety, and irritability...but since i have started taking it, i have noticed an increase in these feelings. i am a 4th year pharmacy student and don't have the time or energy to feel like this. i become irritable and angry at the smallest things or no reason at all. i also just feel the urge to cry and do for the same reasons...none. i have done some research on mood disorders and the correct diagnosis of such. since my symptoms were present before and i also have ADD and mild OCD, i'm not sure if it is the yaz causing these feelings or if with all that's going on in my life, a underlying mood disorder has come to surface. for most who don't know...mood disorders are most often genetic and are seen with concominant mood disorders (depression with anxiety, ADD, OCD, etc..). my family suffers from most if not all of these (mom- major depressive disorder, ADHD; dad- anxiety, OCD; brother- ADHD, OCD, mild depression). also, most mood disorders show up during the later teens to late 20's. so my big issue is whether or not my feelings/mood swings are attributed to the "pill" or just a surfaced problem. i have looked into a disorder called cyclothymic disorder. this is when you have depression with hypomania (irritability that doesn't fit the criteria for manic-so not bipolar). i just don't know who to see or what to do. i have a psychologist and i am hoping to get in to seeing him ASAP. anyone got any input or advice?

I seem to experience extreme irritability and headaches after just a couple days of taking this medication. I have tried it before but stopped taking it because it made me feel so bad. The doctors have again prescribed this medication at 75 mg for hypothyroidism and he says that he does not think it is the Levoxyl causing these side effects. Maybe it is just my imagination but I swear I get real irritated and even depressed shortly after starting this medication. I am on my second day now and again I am experiencing these side effects. I wonder after a period of time will the side effects decrease.

My grandma had told me about a cough she had had for sometime - completely unrelated but she told me she went to the doctor and told them she was tired of coughing. SO - I have been on Lisinopril for 3 1/2 years and have a had a eprsistent dry cough the whole time. I also have allergies so I had chalked it up to that the whole time. I went to the doctor last Friday and told them I wanted help with my "allergies" as I was tired of coughing - intermittent - dry - 8-10 times a day with a post nasal drip to follow - waking me up at night and socially embarrassing. The nurse linked it to the Lisinopril but said it is usually only a side effect for those with asthma. The doctor came in and ultimately switched me to Atenolol. In a mere 3 days my cough of 3 1/2 years has all but gone. I have had only one fit since then! I was also experience extreme windedness with the slightest exertions - i.e walking up hill or up a flight of stairs which I had also chalked up to the "allergies" - I have also noticed that is all but gone as well. I had no idea this was all linked to the Lisinopril! Thank God for my grandma who was tired of her own cough too, which encouraged me to seek help for mine. I feel so much better.

Diagnosed with early prostate cancer in April, I chose external beam radiation and two three month injections of lupron as my treatment. Aside from the daily hot flashes and total loss of libido, I've experience extreme weakness in my pelvis and thighs after sitting for a period of time. I am now in the last week of the second injection. How long will it take for my libido to return and is the muscle weakness permanent or will it end when and if my testosterone ever returns to nomal levels. I am quite annoyed the full extent of the side effects of lupron were not discussed with me prior to treatment. I fear that the exhorbatant cost of this drug creates too great an incentive to proscribe it. I anyone can answer these question please post your experience.

I have been on Mircette for over a year now. I was switched to Mircette b/c Loestrin made me extremely moody. Starting a few months ago I have become unpredictable. Some days I am happy, some days I am angry and paranoid. Some moments I cry for no reason, or for very little reason- over react. I have swollen breasts and my acne is getting worse after I've been on it for a while. My Dr. has presribed Yasmin - but after reading everyone's entries on Yasmin I am wondering if that will really help the moodiness and depression.

I have been taking Levoxyl for 4 months and I experience extreme fatigueness and little weight gain. But I'm alaways tired. I use to sleep 6 to 7 hours a day and be fine the rest of the day, but now I can sleep 12 hours and wake up for about an hour and go right back to sleep

I am here b/c I've been having crying spells with very light (at first no) periods. I've been on Yaz for about 4-5 months and I don't know if it's causing it. I've reviewed my life and don't really have any particular reason to be crying... great family, good life, good job, etc. so... why the crying. I'm here trying to find out if this might be a side effect. The good side? I'm not as irritable as I was before YAZ, while taking Ortho-tricyclen.
