I was prescribed Lisinopril six weeks ago. Yesterday I was rushed to the urgent care facility nearby with difficulty swallowing and hugely swollen lips. The emergency MD prescribed prednisone and zyrtec for the extreme allergic reaction which was attributed to the Lisinopril. The swelling has gone down although it is still quite noticeable and my throat is extremely sore although I am able to swallow liquids that are lukewarm. I am a white female age 53 and have blood pressure that measures 133/80. I am fit and eat healthfully, and have an interest in a more holistic approach to controlling blood pressure issues (which I truly wonder if I really have). I did not experience headache, nausea or depression, however constipation has been severe since beginning even a low dose of Lisinopril of 10 mg.
