I started Macrobid last Tuesday coupled with Perks for the pain. I have finished the few days of perks that I was given and have started noticing severe leg pain and insomnia ( I cannot sleep due to extreme body pain and sweating.) along with sharp pains in my stomach and very loose stools. Im calling my Pharmacist tomorrow to see what he says. After reading what everyone else wrote, Im starting to get scared.

I just gave birth to my daughter 6 weeks ago and after 2 weeks of giving birth, I put in the NR, which was the first birth control I've ever used. I went to the doctor yester for my 6 week checkup and my thyroid is swollen to the size of an egg. He suggested getting an ultrasound and bloodwork done to check it out and I will be going this week but I was just wondering if the NR could contribute to this swelling since they're both hormone related. I have other symptoms but I thought it could be because I just had a baby: constipation, diarrhea, I felt like I had the flu and it turned out to be an upper respiratory infection, tired, severely dehydrated one day to the point of extreme body aches and pain, congestion, and of course the swollen thyroid now. After reading this site I'm worried I should take it out but I don't want to get pregnant again and it's hard for me to take pills religiously everyday. I thought this was an easy solution to that. I just put in my second ring 2 days ago. We'll see what my results are from the thyroid testing.

I don't know what is wrong with you people but its like you can't handle anything. I had the mirena put in November last year and yeah ok i had cramping for the first month or so and yeah i had spotting. But unlike some of you fools i knew what the side effects were i read what came in the package which means i knew what to expect before i got it put in. And yeah there are loads of possible side effects but if you read everything and know what could happen you shouldn't complain if something does happen. Not everyone who has the mirena has these things and for people who are considering it i would recommend trying it and after 3 months if it doesn't feel good then get it removed. That especially goes to people that have just had a baby... i mean really in the first 3 months after having a baby who is really seriously interested in sex right away. The reason i am here was to see if there was more information about them now because UNFORTUNATELY i had to have mine removed for an operation. I had a cyst on my fallopian tube which was not mirena related. In fact almost all women get them when they are menstruating but they go away. Unfortunately with me they don't go away and this is the 2nd cyst to be removed in 3 years. I am planning on getting a second mirena inserted next week. Because frankly i find it ideal. And yeah i may have had mood swings on occasion while i had it but come on think about it what woman doesn't have mood swings. So sure you can blame everything on the Mirena but for the most part besides then for the people where the mirena got stuck or moved during the time you had it... its all in your head. And like i said before i would recommend the mirena and if after 3 or 4 months it doesn't suit you then go for something else... but don't dismiss it because some people have too much time on their hands and like to spend it whining over everything on the net. Remember with the Mirena you have a 50/50 chance of having symptoms or not. Take that risk before taking the risk of going on the pill and forgetting to take it or going on depo provera and putting on 20 pounds.

It seems like I am the only one to use the Nuvaring for more than a couple of months. I have been on it for about 3 years now. I have loved it until the past 6 months or so. I now am having severe night sweats and a general increase in body temperature all of the time. My sex drive has decreased drastically as well. I have not had any weight or mood fluctuations though. I change the ring to a new one every 3 weeks to avoid having a period altogether. That has been great, but I have been experiencing horrible cramping at random times in the month and sex has become extremely painful due to the cramping afterwards. I guess I can say the 2 years without side effects was great, but I am going to switch this month. I cant take this extreme body temperature any longer. Maybe the birth "control" is to make you feel so crappy, that you don't want to have sex.

Extreme body heat, feels like I am on fire. This is worse than
the worst hot flashes I ever had when going through the change.
I am 66 years of age, be 67 in 3 months. Been taking Januvia
for 3 months.
This is not low blood sugar, it has happened at all hours.
Before a meal, after a meal in the middle of the night.
It is just like hot flashes but worse.
My Dr. has offered to put me on HRT.

I am 21 years old and I was on Yasmin for three in a half months (i stopped the last pack half way through). The first month i was on it, i had a lot of leg pains especially at night and sometimes to the point where i couldn't sleep. I went to the doctors and told her about this and she said it had nothing to do with the pill. My leg pain stopped after the first month i was on it and for two months i was fine. At the end of the third pack i began to get leg cramps again, but this time it was different i had little sharp pains here and there and tingling and my legs became extremely itchy. In the matter of two months i got spider veins and cellulite on my upper legs. Before the pill i had NOTHING on my legs. I searched the internet and found that birth control can cause spider veins because of the hormonal change so I thought my legs were itchy because of the spider veins so i stopped using the pill and made a doctors appointment. Three days after stopping i got my period for the second time that month. I also broke out with lumps that are red and extremely itchy. The doctor told me that the bumps are eczema and i also have a lymph node, which she said is from the eczema (which i find very strange). Two days after i broke out and got a lymph node, i got sick with a fever, extremely soar throat and a swollen neck. Today is my 7th day off the pill and im still sick. Hopefully i get better. But from being a 21 year old whos 95 pounds and having nothing wrong and starting this pill and getting spider veins, cellulite and then eczema all around the same time, i feel like im aging before my time. If anyone else has had any similar effects please let me know. Thank you.

I was prescribed Macrobid for a UTI I didn't even know I had. I toke my first dose on Sunday night, and woke up with severe flu like symptoms. I never call out sick at work. (once in 10 years) To day is Tuesday and I still feel so bad, extreme body aches, pains, dizziness, lack of energy, sneezzing, coughing, mucus, cannot sleep. I called my doctor immediately...my Dr. is on holiday, and no response from another physician. I am going to immediate care and stop taking Macrobid before hives and rash set in.

The Dr. gave me Effexor xr 75mg for my depression and 0.5 mg every 6 hrs of Xanax. Since then he lowered my Effexor xr to 35mg. During that period I gained 20 lbs and now I have excessive sweating constantly at least 5 times a day just as if I was coming out a flu like symptom.
My depression is still there buy not as bad but I started to get worried about what was causing the excessive sweating until I saw this site. I will set and appointment with the doctor tomorrow and see what the next plan of attack will be.
I know I was really bad with panic attacks and depression but know I could like to not take any more medications at all. With the help of God and I will recover from my depression and panic attacks. I had depression, panic attacks rasing heart beats, could not focus, memory loss, constant crying, fear. I when to the ER twice tacking I had a heart attack. All heart exams normal.
Now I have to deal with getting off the pills and live a normal life. How can I do this?

I had been taking Singulair for about 18 months and it did help my allergy and asthma symptoms alot. However, for over a year I have been experiencing extreme body fatique for no apparent reason. It would come and go a bit, but never fully go away. I went to several different doctors and got blood tests done which always showed everything pretty much normal. I finally started looking more closely at the side effects of my pharmaceutical meds. Years ago I discovered that the steroid based inhalants and nose sprays made me very moody and depressed over time. So, I looked on this site for effects for Singulair and noticed that some adults mentioned fatigue. (By the way, I was appalled at the side effects in some children.) I have been off Singulair now for over a month and have felt great! My energy level is back up to normal and I don't have any more of that heavy body fatigue. Be aware that some side effects creep up on you so that you don't automatically make the connection between the drug and what's going on in your body. I won't make this mistake a third time.

I'm a 46 year old male. I started 10 years ago with Lipitor 5mg, after one year increased to 10mg, insurance company made me switch to Zocor 10mg. After switching with another ins company had to go back to Lipitor 10mg, had to switch again to Zocor 20mg, then my doctor took it to 40mg along with 1,000mg of niacin. Switch again to Lipitor and back to Zocor, all this transpired within a 10 year period. I have always been extremely active and very muscular. One day I noticed twitching in the upper part of both arms. When I visited my doctor, his first words where stop the Lipitor now. Within the next three months I had extreme body tremors, full body muscle cramping, extreme night sweating (would soak the sheets) and had a vibrating (it was like a humming sensation) sensation in my whole body 24/7. It's been two years now since I stopped taking this poison and I now suffer with a great deal of muscle loss in my hands, forearm, upper shoulders, butt area and feet. I have difficulties with balance, holding my bladder when I feel the urge to urinate, severe pain, difficulty lifting my arms to my head and difficulty with my speech. The sweating and vibrating feeling has gone now however my quality of life is not anything to talk about. If I new then what I know now about this statin drug I would have never takin it. If any one knows of any ways too reverse these side effects, please e-mail me at ******

I have had Mirena in since May of 2008 and have not felt the same since. In the beginning the headaches and fatigue that occurred was constant. I decided to give it time to see if my body got used to the progesterone and to also figure out whether or not it's having three small kids. Over the last year I've noticed when I have spotting, which usually occurs once or twice a month, I feel downright awful. One day I'll be on top of the world and energized...my normal self. The next day I'm spotting and the extreme body fatigue, leg an hip pain, foggy head, and depression occurs. EVERY time it is linked to the spotting. Which makes me believe that it has something to do with the IUD. I am scheduling an appointment to get it removed asap. I'd rather have my body go through it's natural processes and rely on that process than to feel this bad unexpectedly. Can't wait to remove the IUD!
