I am a male 61 who had 2 years of lupron for prostate cancer. It has been a little over 6 years since my last treatment and I am still suffering from the side effects. I have headaches 24/7 and am very sensitive to heat. I have ended up in the hospital twice due to extreme heat. My psa is slowing coming back and I may have to have lupron again, God help me! I also suffer from depression, maybe from being ill for so long, I also have occasional bouts with nausea.

I forgot to add a very important side effect in my last posting.
When I first started Topamax I discovered that it can affect your body's ability to regulate heat. It only happens in extreme heat. I was on a relatively low dose at the time (100 mg) and I traveled to Costa Rica where it was very hot every day. I became very hot and could not cool off which I had never had trouble with before. It was a strange experience and I would find myself becoming overheated very quickly without knowing it was happening. When I returned home I talked to the doctor and he told me to be really careful because Topamax can block your body from sweating which in turn can cause you to overheat and then essentially be at risk for heat stroke. Again it only happens in extreme heat and I was fine when I was near water and could swim, etc. but when I was hiking, sitting on hot buses and my body kept heating up it was really scary. At one point, I got so hot and my face turned so red that I poured bottle of water over my head to cool down. Just be aware of the possibility so that you can prepare for it...

i TOOK AVELOX FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY FOR A BRONCHIAL PNEUMONIA THAT JUST WOULDN'T GO AWAY AFTER A MONTH. MY DR GAVE ME SAMPLES FOR 7 DAYS & SENT ME OFF ON MY VERY WAY. I TOOK THE FIRST & ONLY PILL AT AROUND 10AM AFTER HAVING A PIECE OF TOAST AND A CUP OF COFFEE. AT AROUND 10:30 I BEGAN GETTING EXTREMELY DIZZY, I FELT MY LEFT ARM TINGLING & GETTING NUMB, MY FACE TINGLING & NUMB, MY CHEST BECOMING TIGHT & FELT THIS EXTREME HEAT COMING FROM MY BODY. I FELT AS THOUGH THAT I WAS GOING TO DIE.LUCKILY I TAKE CLONAZEPAM WHICH IS AN ANXIETY MEDICATION, IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT, I SWEAR I WOULD HAVE GONE OUT ON A STRETCHER. IT EASED SOME OF THE ANXIETY BUT NOT ANY OF THE TINGLING OR HEAT I WAS FEELING. I WAS MAKING MISTAKES AT THE REGISTER AND MY HEAD WAS EXTREMELY FOGGY AND FELT AS IF I WAS WATCHING MYSELF DO THINGS! I ENDED UP CALLING MY SISTER TO COME INTO THE STORE & COVER FOR ME SO I COULD LEAVE & IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DR WHO TOLD ME TO STOP IT. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT ONE DOSE COULD DO THAT. EVEN TODAY, I STILL FEEL WEAK, MY FACE EVEN SWELLED OVER NIGHT, AND MY ARM IS STILL TINGLY & EVERY SO OFTEN I GET A PAIN IN MY CHEST. THE DR PRESCRIBED ME ZITHROMAX BUT I AM WAITING TO TAKE IT AFTER THAT WHOLE FIASCO WITH AVELOX. ID LOVE TO SUE THIS COMPANY'S PANTS OFF!! HOPEFULLY THESE EFFECTS WILL GO AWAY & NOT STAY WITH ME!!

Hello all: right now i am on 0.075 mgs. of levothyroxine and i would like to lower the dose to 0.050 mgs. because at the present dose i feel real hunger most of the time, more nervous, and extreme heat when the weather gets too hot. Do you all think i should lower the dose to 0.050 mgs? i have tried lowering the dose, but then i would feel real depressed, and that doesn't help a lot because we need a lot of motivation to cope with this capitalist hell in which we live !! Thanx all and hope you all get better

I started taking Avelox 9 days ago. I was prescribed 14 days of Avelox after a round of Ceftin failed to clear up a sinus infection.
-- By hollygb66 | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meI am an avid tennis player, playing 3-5 times a week. My first bad experience happened yesterday when I went out to play and as soon as I walked outside I had a head to toe tingling feeling. This felt like I had chills but no goosebumps were showing. Over an hour or so later, the goosebumps showed up. This was in 90 degree heat!! I first thought it was dehydration, which it may have been, since I didn't seem to be able to get enough water/Gatorade no matter how much I would drink. This is even at night when I am not in the heat!!
I didn't take the medicine today. Played again this morning. I had the same tingling feeling head to toe, but no chills this time. To explain the tingling, I told a friend my skin felt like it was creepy crawly! It was a horrible feeling again in extreme heat!
I, also, have a hamstring that feels a lil tinge to it. I never have these problems and I am guessing this is due to the medicine, too.
If I walk outside, my body temperature feels like it shoots up! Even though I do not have a fever.
I went to my doctor's office and he is out of town! I asked to see another Dr. and he was "too busy to see me" since he was trying to get to the hospital! I was told to call my family Dr.which I did, only to be told he was also booked and I couldn't be seen. So, I gave up! And, not taking the medicine anymore!! Never again. This will be on my list of 'Allergic to.'
I usually have no side effects from medicines.
