About a month ago I noticed my left thigh was going numb. I had been a little less active due to tennis elbow, so I stepped up my exercise a bit. The whole side of my thigh hip to knee became completely numb. A few days later I began to tingle in my hands and face and by big toe and foot. I went to my Chiropractor 3 times a week and he really felt I was in good alignment and should not be having these extreme problems. He scheduled me for an MRI and x-rays. He kept asking about ANY other changes in life. I lost my brother to polymyositis 5 years ago and was starting to have scary thoughts. I woke up at 2am on a Friday 2 weeks ago and remembered my Dr. had started me on Lipitor 6 weeks earlier !
I got up and googled "Lipitor numbness" and found this page and a host of others. I stopped taking Lipitor. It has been 2 weeks since I quit and numbness has turned to shooting pains and burning so bad I can hardly stand my pant legs or my bed sheets touching me. I continue to have tingling in my hands and feet and I am a professional musician. (guitar player) Will somebody please tell me that over time all of these symptoms will wear off and pass ?

For me having the Mirena removed just last Thursday was the right decision. I was not using it for birth control but as hormone therapy for heavy, crampy periods. I had it inserted in July 2008 and bled every single day for the entire time, I had it removed last week and now I am bleeding very heavily but hopefully that will stop once all those hormones are out of my body.
While on Mirena I lost all sex drive, I became severely anemic and with that fatigued terribly, and moody, crying at nothing and screaming at my kids or husband for stupid reasons, I felt bloated and gassy and didn't have those problems before.
I am 42 years old and I hate my heavy bleeding in fact I want a hysterectomy, but not sure now what I will do.
For those of you who had the Mirena removed, how long did it take to stop bleeding afterwards? This is draining every last ounce of energy for me and I am taking iron supplements.
What sucks is the cost of this, Even with insurance I ended up paying a lot out of pocket to get this thing and then all the Dr. visits due to bleeding and side affects in the 4 months it was in and now the removal of it. I am wondering if there is any way that we can get a Class action lawsuit against Bayer for this horrible thing they are trying to sell to women.
I know there are some out there who have not suffered all these horrible side effects at least not yet or that they are aware of, but I truly believe that there is nothing good about this IUD and those of us and there are a lot of us who have suffered with this should be reimbursed or compensated for the pain and loss of parts of our lives and expenses with this. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I have extreme problems with my menstrual cycle.. I bleed for months at a time... i have been bleeding for about 7 months now and my gyno gave me Femcon Fe.I have been on Yasmin before and it did not help regulate my menstrual cycle at all. I actually gained over 20 pounds from Yasmin in two months. I didn't change my diet at all. I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen and that just didn't do anything at all... i bled right through... After reading all your comments I am very nervous to start Femcon Fe.

I have been hypothyroid for 8 years. I was taking generic levothyroxine SOD for years, and had no extreme problems. However, they switched me to levoxyl about 4 months ago and it has been bad ever since. Stomach problems, very tired, can't sleep well, hard to function, and woozy in my head all of the time. I quit taking it for a couple of days and I felt somewhat normal again. I do not know what is in levoxyl that is different, but I am going back on just generic levothyroxine SOD.

I have been on Lamictal for 3 years now, got all the way up to 250mg. I was also treated for a "light" case of bipolar. I always took it at night right before I went to bed. The side effects I had from being on it was absolutely NO sex drive at all, like my husband and I would go months without it, obviously causing extreme problems between us, the kind of numb feeling where I wasn't able to get too excited about anything, but thankfully was able to control any anxiety and anger. When I was on just 200mg I had to combine it with 100mg of Seroquel to give me some happiness. Without the Seroquel I was basically a bump on a log. I finally realized that I didn't have bipolar at all and it was all just anxiety. So I got off the Seroquel and just lowered to 100mg of Lamictal on Monday and I have had the worst side effects of my life since dropping to 100mg. (B.T.W. I dropped 50mg at a time) I've been having anxiety/panic attacks out of absolutely nowhere that are lasting between 6-12 HOURS at a time, consisting of extreme shaking to the point of being in pain, stomach pain, nausea, fear and 100% insomnia. Not just "haven't slept well" but haven't slept at all. I just lie awake on the couch staring at the dark completely unable to sleep. And of course not sleeping has its side effects on the way as well. Hopefully I can get through this 100mg and not have to go back up.
